Dennis Prager and Adam Carolla trade verbal jabs

by drc123 on 3/18/13Valley Performing Arts Center - Northridge

A nice evening of talk from two guys that have similar views from different perspectives. Dennis is the baby boomer with a more conservative and religious take while Adam represents the Gen X view from a slightly different, areligious angle. Both were funny and insightful. Both stayed after to sign books and hobnob with the hoi polloi.

    A breathe of fresh air

by TAtheGreat on 3/18/13Valley Performing Arts Center - Northridge

This was an incredible evening of very candid talk on a wide range of topics. Dennis' ability to bring sanity and wisdom to Non PC topics is very refreshing. Adam's humorous plain speak, about the same topics, shows that the entertainment industry is not populated by only by pompous, emoting fools. Thank God for Dennis and Adam.

Prager and Carolla are 2 of the most articulate social observers today. Wish our politicians would hear them.

    Adam and Dennis were great!

by Jake270 on 3/18/13Valley Performing Arts Center - Northridge

Start time was 8pm, but Adam and Dennis kept us waiting for 15 minutes while we gazed at the table and two chairs on stage. Finally, they sauntered onto the stage and sat in their chairs and began chatting about the first thing that came into their minds - the commute! After joking about L.A. traffic, militant bicyclists, pet peeves about drivers, they gradually moved on to social and political issues without ever getting too serious or depressing. It was quite fun listening to Adam and Dennis banter back and forth with each other and there were many laughs to be had. They devoted the last half-hour to audience questions and Adam made fun of a guy who came to the microphone dressed in a t-shirt and jeans saying, "Thanks for dressing up. So you decided to go for the shirt with the gravy stain? Nice touch!" The show was exactly 90 minutes, so we were out by 10pm. Loved it!

Adam Carolla and That Other Right Wing Guy

by empanada on 9/19/12Majestic Theatre Dallas - Dallas

What a colossal mistake purchasing tickets to this event. I love the Majestic Theater and I love Adam Carolla. Silly me for thinking this would be some kind of stand-up performance or book tour. I had no idea who Dennis Prager was and now that I know, I am really sorry I paid money to see that. What a terrible mistake. Adam Carolla should know he is good enough to tour on his own. Would not wish this "discussion" performance on anyone I know.

Brilliant performance by two fine minds

We were unfamiliar with Carolla but are big Prager fans. We ended up loving them both and enjoying their stands on their Judism and atheism, although we are Christians.

Not what we expected ~ but still ok

    by Elizabeth0101 on 9/14/12Majestic Theater - Dallas

Just like many of the reviews mention, this show was not at all what we expected. It was very politically motivated....almost too much so....and we were wishing it had more humor. It was somewhat enjoyable but I would have rather seen a show that made me laugh...instead of one that made me think! I wanted an escape & felt like I was at a college lecture. Admire both men for their style & intelligience though.

    Dennis Prager show only

by bigRossman on 5/8/12Spreckels - San Diego

If you are an Adam Carolla fan save your money. This was for Dennis Prager fans only as Adam did not express his opinions about anything even remotely controversial. I was expecting a spirited debate and instead got Carolla tip toeing around Prager. You could tell he was trying to gain some fan base from Prager, but he does so at the expense of his own fan base in my opinion. Really disappointing show...Talk about highfalutin...

More like Dennis Prager with a little Adam Carolla

by MA00700 on 5/8/12Spreckles Theater - San Diego

We saw this show in San Diego last weekend and were really disappointed. We've seen Adam Carolla numerous times and always look forward to when he comes to town, and listen to his podcasts regularly. We have seen him live with guests before and the shows were always great, so why should this show be any different? Two words: Dennis Prager. When we arrived at the show we knew something was up- it was at a really formal venue (usually it's at House of Blues) that felt like we were at the symphony (not a problem, if we were in fact at a symphony) and there were tons of people dressed all formal (suits, ties, formal dresses), which is definitely not characteristic of a typical Adam Carolla show....oh and on top of it you couldn't even drink in the venue except in the lobby! The show was really conservative, and to be honest, not funny at all. We came to see Adam Carolla for a night of comedy and this was anything but that, instead we listened to Dennis Prager's views on all sorts of topics and Adam would occasionally comment. On his podcasts and in previous shows he has definitely expressed different views from those of Dennis Prager, so we figured he would express the difference of opinion, but he didn't. The entire 2nd half of the show was Dennis Prager fans asking Q&A, and we ended up leaving early (I'm sure we didn't miss anything). I'm not sure if Adam is trying to appeal to a new crowd, but this crowd was boring and not funny. Don't waste your money unless you're a big Dennis Prager fan.
