    "Funny Thing" was the best!

by anitainLaJolla on 3/22/10Ralph Freud Playhouse - Los Angeles

The cast was amazing and Lee Wilkof alone well worth the price of admission. It is one laugh after another and the singing is fantastic. I highle recommend seeing it before it closes---even if you have to drive up north in horrendous traffic like we did!

    A Very Funny Thing

by nbenmendel on 3/21/10Ralph Freud Playhouse - Los Angeles

The play was a joy to watch from the first to the last. Everyone in the cast was superb, as was the staging. For those who remember the movie with Michael Crawford and Zero Mostel of 40 plus years ago, this production shows how much better it is to see this musical on the stage than on the screen.

    Comedy Last Night

by McRib on 3/21/10Ralph Freud Playhouse - Los Angeles

A very funny production of a very silly show. More an homage to old time bulesque than old time Rome, a great cast and a very good Sondheim score made for an utterly fun evening. I had a smile across my face from stRt to finish.

    Hilarious!

by gramma44 on 3/20/10Ralph Freud Playhouse - Los Angeles

This is one of my favorite musicals, with Sondheim's brilliant music and lyrics, and this production held up well to those I've seen (including the Broadway revival with Nathan Lane). Solid, talented cast; great comic timing; strong orchestra; fine sets and costumes. Some new 'schtick' with three males of wildly varying heights who alternately play eunuchs, slaves and soldiers -- hysterical. If you like vaudeville and musicals, this is the show for you.

    A Funny thing

by lnbc on 3/8/10University of Denver-Newman Center-Byron Theatre - Denver

The sets were offensively graphic. I think a brothel could be designed without the graphic use of pornography...my teenagers and my grandmother were very embarrassed. What an unfortunate distraction from the talent of this group! The character development lacked substance - funny was reduced to silly and goofy...not what you would expect from a high caliber university.

    Funny, very well done

by TheRealRainFall on 3/5/10University of Denver-Newman Center-Byron Theatre - Denver

The music and acting was very well done. Most of the main characters were really in character the whole time and did a marvelous job playing the roles The only lazy positions were the concubine(or whatever they called it) in orange who always looked like she didnt want to me there when it wasn't her turn to act. '' Judging by the female to male ratio in the place this is a great place for any college guy to go to mingle ;)
