Was not expecting all the comedy but it was a welcome addition
Show was great but couldn't see well at all. Love the music and humor!
We look forward to going to see The Christmas Carol every year! They always seem to make each year so much fun and add new touches that you look forward to going back again and again.
Though having seen the show many times ourselves, this time we brought our Granddaughter Mia (6 years old) to see the show. We brought her booster seat and placed her on the aisle seat. She had an unobstructed view. She was in awe and her eyes wide open. She focussed for most of the show and laughed, sang, danced, and had a great time........From our view, the look on her face throughout the show was priceless. From the moment we entered, she was enthralled; climbing the staircase, entering the theatre, walking down from the top to the bottom......She loved to watch the music pit and the musicians....
We enjoyed A Christmas Carol. It was quite clever as usual. Costumes and settings were first class! Actors were great. Music was great. The 4 people in our group had all been at least twice before over the years. We would have liked to have had just a little more of the traditional storyline as it seemed to have when we first attended. This year's production seemed to be quite heavy on the comedy and very light on the traditional storyline. Our first couple of times we enjoyed the blend which seemed to really bring out the poignancy of Scrooge's journey through the past, present and future. Would we recommend it to others? Yes, but we would really make sure to point out that it is very heavy on comedy.
I have seen this show for several years and it is great every time!! Holiday Favorite!
This is a Christmas tradition with my family and every year I swear the show gets better and better. Long live this play!
Great show. This was my families first time attending this show. It was everything we expected. Great show! We will definitely be attending again.
There were moments that were funny and moments that were touching...but in between those moments this play dragged on and on and on. All 6 of us left feeling like the play would have been better if they shaved 30 minutes of singing off and didn't try so hard to be kitschy. It felt very forced (and very tired) at times.
I thought the take on a Christmas Carol was very interesting and very entertaining. The political humor was fun as well.
Thanks to Ebenezer Scrooge and company, Christmas came to Raleigh during Wood's amazing Christmas Carol. Wood and David Moore, a.k.a Bob Cratchitts bring Tiny Tim's story to life. By the plays conclusion, you KNOW that little Tim will improve and that Scrooge will make it happen. the actors were greatt, as were the musicians. We were pleased with the production!
The entire production was great as usual and we really enjoyed the show.
First time I've seen this iconic musical of the South. I was delighted to see a well produced musical with lots of little topical humor. The play was very professional and tightly produced. I would recommend this adaptation to anyone that loves the story of the Christmas Carol. I will wait until my grandchildren are 10 and 14 before I would take them so they would more fully appreciate the whole presentation.
Outstanding performance. Held my attention from beginning to end.
Ira David Woods, both III & IV, are terrific. The Triangle is blessed to have such talent that stays here and plays here. I truly understand why this show has gone on for 41 years. You are a Scrooge if you miss it!
I enjoyed every part of it .Great fun!!!! I hope to go again next year!!
Great, good music, funny and topical. The jokes were up to date and on the mark.
A must see!! I've seen this production many times, and each year, it's better as new twists incorporating current trends, events, politics are interjected. Ira David Woods, III was awesome as always as was the entire cast.
The actors were excellent. Everyone in the audience was laughing. At the end of the show the actors sang "--- ----- -------" Everyone in the audience joined in singing with the actors!!! It was heart felt!!! You will have to go see the play to hear what they sang. We had a great time!!! We will definitely see this play again!!! Bravo!!!!
The play was great. I have enjoyed the Christmas Carol for the last 10 years and I think this was the best! The Davids out did themselves. The play was enjoyable and wonderfully funny in parts. The speech that David Ira Wood III gave at the end as well as the songs were amazing. Many people were in tears singing, God Bless America".
