  • "A Bronx Tale" wow!

by artgirlhousefan on 11/5/13The Paramount - HuntingtonRating: 5 out of 5

The play was made before the movie, "A Bronx Tale". It was a one man show. Minimal stage props, all black background. Just a few sound effects, no songs, or flashy bells and whistles. No costumes. Just Chazz talking for 90 minutes that went so fast! about his growing up, different characters, some sad moments, some funny. The full house was at full attention. Just. wow! He must have been exhausted putting his 110% of the 90 minutes. No intermission, straight through. Him constantly moving around, dramatic.

  • Chazz rocks the house at Paramount!!!

by Ringmaker on 11/5/13The Paramount - HuntingtonRating: 5 out of 5

I have seen many "one-man/woman" performances over the years but this was by far the most sensational ever. Chazz had us enraptured from start to finish in a spellbinding performance. Close to 1-1/2 hours non-stop and riveting all the way through. Massive standing ovation with many yelling "thank you " to Chazz as his performance was a gift.

  • Incredible performance!

Every character came alive! You would have thought that there was a cast of many on stage! Bravo Chaz!

  • Almost 5 stars.,.....but

by lirun on 11/5/13The Paramount - HuntingtonRating: 4 out of 5

Chazz was even better than his performance a few years back in NYC. We felt like we were really watching multiple characters performing! Only disappointed that he started the show 30 minutes late.

  • The story of Chazz

    by nansea94 on 11/5/13The Paramount - HuntingtonRating: 5 out of 5

I just recently learned that this play was written prior to the movie, when I had thought it was the other way around. And Chazz explained that this was his life story during the play, another thing I did not know. What a fantastic story, and and incredible performance by Chazz. This needs to go to Broadway. It warmed my heart, and left me in high spirits that lasted for days. *** Adding my comment about my seats here, too long for space allotted: The worst part about these seats was that it located directly next to a service bar. Servers were constantly walking in front of our aisle to give the bartender their orders, discussing said orders at a fairly loud decibel level. In addition, ice cubes and glasses clanking during the performance were very disruptive. It's one thing to have the people behind us with their phones ringing during the performance, and carrying on conversation as if they were in their own living room. But to have the staff of the Paramount behave this way is inexcusable. These seats, and this venue, are better suited for loud performances by bands than a play.

  • Chazz was unforgettable!!

Great show! Great venue!! I can't believe that one man could put on a show so well!

  • Chazz is incredible!

by DisneyGuy on 11/5/13The Paramount - HuntingtonRating: 5 out of 5

My wife and I really loved the show. She was a bit hesitant about a one man show but 10 minutes in she leaned over and said "this is incredible right?". Being a big fan of the movie I was interested to see how he would bring us into the story all by himself. Somehow he was able to recreate the characters brilliantly. And all of my favorite lines from the movie were there including "Now youz can't leave!" from the motorcycle gang scene. I strongly recommend this show.

  • great theater!

    by Val308 on 11/4/13The Paramount - HuntingtonRating: 5 out of 5

Chaz Palminteri was outstanding. By the end of his performance you have forgotten that he is only one man on the stage. His story transports you back in time and you are on the stoop with him back in 1960. This is a theater treat not to be missed.

the play was of the Hayzey.. I loveit!! I will see it again

  • tour de force

by jimnpat on 11/4/13The Paramount - HuntingtonRating: 5 out of 5

Chaz is a force of nature. Never have I been so enthralled with a dramatic performance. His presence is mesmerizing and his ability to shift from one character to another throughout a conversation is truly astounding. This writing and performance is testament to the ancient art of story telling. Without frills and only a bare semblance of props Chaz was able to enthrall his audience with his story telling genius. Having seen the movie (and loving it) it was hard for me to imagine how a one man play could compare to the movie. Was I ever enlightened. As great as the movie was it lacked the raw immediacy and visceral quality of the live one man performance.

  • Better than expected

by Anonymous on 11/4/13The Paramount - HuntingtonRating: 4 out of 5

I was a little apprehensive when i heard it was a one man show, but he stood up there telling his story in different character voices for over hour forty minutes and the time flew. Very well done

Show was great. Chazz very talented. But the paramount theatre too crowded together and uncomfortable seating made for unpleasant experience.

Chazz was wonderful ! I have never seen a one man show before and he kept us entertained the entire time. We didn't want it to end. He came into the Founders room at the Paramount after the show and chatted with the members. Great man...great show.
