Toronto Maple Leafs History

The Toronto Maple Leafs have 13 Stanley Cup Championships and six division championships, with more than 60 former players, coaches and executives in the Hockey Hall of Fame. The Maple Leafs were one of the NHL's founding teams in 1917. They originally were known as the Arenas and then the St. Patricks before taking their current name in 1927 after Conn Smythe bought the franchise.

The team won two Stanley Cup Championships in the NHL's first five years and returned to the finals in 1932 behind the "Kid Line" of eventual Hall of Famers Charlie Conacher, Joe Primeau, and Busher Jackson. In 1942, they defeated the Detroit Red Wings in seven games to win the first of five Stanley Cup Championships under coach Hap Day. The addition the following year of center Ted Kennedy helped the Leafs maintain their dominance, and resulted in another title in 1951.

The Leafs won three Stanley Cup Championships in a row starting in 1962, and another in the 1966-1967 season, thanks to a roster brimming with players who would end up in the Hall of Fame: George Armstrong, Johnny Bower, Red Kelly, Dave Keon, Tim Horton, Allan Stanley, Bob Pulford, and Frank Mahovlich.

The team returned to the conference finals in 1992-1993 and 1993-1994, then again in 1998-1999 — the latter trip powered by eventual franchise scoring leader Mats Sundin. The Toronto Maple Leafs have made the Playoffs a total of 72 times to date.

    Leafs Game

by TLC on 1/8/23Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

This was the first weeknight Leafs game I had been to and parking was more than what I am used to. Getting in the arena was quick as always. Seats were good and lines for bathroom and food weren't too bad, however, getting food from Food junction, was a little chaotic, there didn't seem to be a system, just order and move to the side and wait. Game had good sound and entertainment.

    Bad Seats

    by V on 11/26/22Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

We bought nosebleed tickets and it ended up being for people with accessibility issue. We couldn’t even see half of the ice because the box seats were blocking it.

    0/10

by Sam on 11/24/22Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

We bought tickets in the 319th row, having never been there before we were not familiar with the layout. The seats turned out to be standing. Nowhere on the tickets did the seats specify standing. I have cerebral palsy and find it difficult to stand for that length of time so was forced to leave early. Not impressed.

Great 1st Game for my Son!

by Greg Lusk on 11/15/22Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

Showed up early and went to the glass for warm-ups. That was awesome! Staff was very organized and professional, asking for beverages, food, etc.? Highlight of the night, even though the Leafs had a good comeback win versus Vancouver.

    Ticketmaster Support downfall

by Darby on 11/15/22Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

Was planning a guys weekend and need 4 tickets. First seats I selected Ticketmaster wouldn't let me get because it left a single seat in that row, so the system kicked me out. When I managed to log back on there was many less seats available. So I grab 4 tickets from section 601A. When I received the email with the ticket link I noticed that the seats it allowed me to buy were handicap (accessibility) seating. So I immediately started the seat exchange process. Well it took Ticketmaster 2 weeks to respond to my request, and the seats that I could have exchanged for were all sold by that time. As well the fan support person told me my seats are not accessibility seating. So I trusted there information. When we arrived at the game, the seats were accessibility seating. These should have been better marked on the website. I looked at it again and they are still marked as normal seats on the website. This information is false and needs to be corrected. Overall not happy with any of Ticketmasters support systems. Would have done better going through a ticket reseller.

Worst NHL game experience of my life

    by ML87 on 11/14/22Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

Sitting in section 313 in obstructed seats. The seats say obstructed but that normally means a pole or a slight blockage. These tickets should have said can only see 2/3 of the ice. Not being able to see an entire offensive zone shatters the game experience. It's impossible to get immersed in the game at all. Might as well have stayed home on the couch. For $230 its unacceptable to have such obstructed seats. Drove 5 hours to come enjoy the game to be met with that.

    Good game. Bad seats!

by Brandon on 11/14/22Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

The game and atmosphere was amazing. Be advised rows with (obstructed) view in title are not even worth buying. Large concrete wall block half of the ice. Other then that. Great people and great game. Was fun even through we could only see half the ice

    Wonderful Atmosphere

by James on 11/8/22Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

I had an amazing time at Scotiabank Arena watching my favourite hockey team, the Boston Bruins. I talked with several fans in the lineup and seated next to me in the arena and also a few people working at the arena for the game. I had a great time bantering with the fans and employees of the arena! I really had a great time at the game!!

    you gotta be rich

by Bubba on 10/23/22Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

Always love going to the game but it’s a little far fetched to think a normal family can afford this. 160 each for upper level seats, 22 for a large beer and 40 for popcorn candy and pop . MLSE has the chance to set better standards for the league and set affordable prices but they don’t because it’s just a money grab . Should be ashamed.

    Wifi

by stinkypete on 10/18/22Scotiabank Arena - Toronto

There is no public wifi at the Scotiabank arena. For those with no data on their smartphone like myself, it’s problematic. I had to go outside to a restaurant to pick up their wifi and keep the tickets on my Ticketmaster app and then proceed to the gate to enter the arena! Not user friendly at all.
