About

MercyMe has been releasing hits in the Christian rock genre since 2001, when "I Can Only Imagine" caught the attention of the public and became the most requested song on a mainstream station in Texas. Despite the band's success on conventional radio stations, the majority of ticket buyers expect MercyMe's concert tours to be religion oriented, and they are not disappointed. Fans who attended the Rock & Worship Roadshow in 2013 described the tour as uplifting and filled with spiritual hits that included "Word of God Speak,” “All of Creation” and "You Don’t Care At All." The latter song is from the 2012 album The Hurt & the Healer, which reached No. 1 on the Christian Albums Billboard chart.

Millard formed MercyMe with Jim Bryson and Mike Scheuchzer in Oklahoma, and after releasing independently, MercyMe signed with INO Records in 2001. Their first album earned the 2x Platinum certification from the RIAA after "I Can Only Imagine" won two Dove Awards. On 2002's Spoken For, which peaked at No. 2 on the Christian Albums chart, the title track was the most successful. 2004's Undone brought with it hits like "Here with Me," "Homesick" and "In the Blink of an Eye." 2006's Coming Up to Breathe was nominated for a Grammy, due to hit singles like "Bring the Rain," "So Long Self" and "Hold Fast." All That Is Within Me was released in 2007, with "God With Us" reaching No. 1 on the Christian Songs Billboard chart. 2010 saw the release of The Generous Mr. Lovewell, while 2012's The Hurt & The Healer featured "You Are I Am" and the title track as the most popular songs. MercyMe has plans to continue its tour for The Hurt & the Healer album in 2014.

Amazing as the first time I saw them.

by Norma on 4/30/24Colonial Life Arena - Columbia

I bought the tickets for my best friend as a gift. I have always wanted to see Newsboys, as they along with Mercy Me are my favorites. David Leonard was awesome as well. We had an amazing time enjoying the bands and worshiping with our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. Can't wait to see them all again.

by Susan on 4/29/24Food City Center - Knoxville

Love the concert Mercy Me, and I would encourage everyone to go and see them if and when they get a chance. I can't wait till they come back. The opening acts The Newsboys, and David Leonard was also a plus. All three were amazing, they also had the best light show I've ever seen at a concert.

    Excruciatingly Loud!!

by Lou on 4/29/24Colonial Life Arena - Columbia

Outrageously loud!! When David Leonard started we thought it was just him and his group b/c we weren’t familiar with his music. We couldn’t understand the words to any of his songs. Then came the Newsboys, same thing. Mercy me we know. We couldn’t understand the words either. It was so loud that when their drummer struck the drum my heart about came out of my chest!! No need to be that excruciatingly loud! We left into their 3rd song. Very disappointed.

    Extremely loud!!

by Lou on 4/29/24Colonial Life Arena - Columbia

We could not understand the words because it was so extremely loud. The whole concert with David and the Newsboys was as extremely loud. We finally left when Mercy Me started their 3rd song. Every time the drummer hit the drum my heart about came out of my chest. Very disappointed. We’ve seen Mercy Me in concert before and thoroughly loved it. We could hear the concert outside better!!

    Fabulous worship and concert!

by Doreen, a senior citizen on 4/29/24Heritage Bank Center - Cincinnati

Best concert ever! Mercy Me is absolutely one of the best Christian groups ever and their witness and love for the Lord was so obvious. Then to add the Newsboys, unbelievable! It was like two for the price of one! And when they sang "God's Not Dead"the whole stadium went crazy, young and old alike. Loved seeing all ages worshipping together. I'll never forget them blessings I felt!! My only complaint was the stairs getting to our seats. They are very steep and there are no rails to hold on to. I saw a lot of people, includingg myself struggling with them. To me it is a lawsuit waitingg to happn. Rails would be a really good adddition to the stadium.
