About

MercyMe has been releasing hits in the Christian rock genre since 2001, when "I Can Only Imagine" caught the attention of the public and became the most requested song on a mainstream station in Texas. Despite the band's success on conventional radio stations, the majority of ticket buyers expect MercyMe's concert tours to be religion oriented, and they are not disappointed. Fans who attended the Rock & Worship Roadshow in 2013 described the tour as uplifting and filled with spiritual hits that included "Word of God Speak,” “All of Creation” and "You Don’t Care At All." The latter song is from the 2012 album The Hurt & the Healer, which reached No. 1 on the Christian Albums Billboard chart.

Millard formed MercyMe with Jim Bryson and Mike Scheuchzer in Oklahoma, and after releasing independently, MercyMe signed with INO Records in 2001. Their first album earned the 2x Platinum certification from the RIAA after "I Can Only Imagine" won two Dove Awards. On 2002's Spoken For, which peaked at No. 2 on the Christian Albums chart, the title track was the most successful. 2004's Undone brought with it hits like "Here with Me," "Homesick" and "In the Blink of an Eye." 2006's Coming Up to Breathe was nominated for a Grammy, due to hit singles like "Bring the Rain," "So Long Self" and "Hold Fast." All That Is Within Me was released in 2007, with "God With Us" reaching No. 1 on the Christian Songs Billboard chart. 2010 saw the release of The Generous Mr. Lovewell, while 2012's The Hurt & The Healer featured "You Are I Am" and the title track as the most popular songs. MercyMe has plans to continue its tour for The Hurt & the Healer album in 2014.

    Wonderful night of worship!

by Elee1617 on 10/19/09Akron Civic Theatre - Akron

Johnny Diaz was a great start - he has a great heart for music. Fee came out next and rocked the house. Mercy Me played for over an hour and a half and didn't miss a beat. We laughed and cried and raised our voices for Jesus. It was a wonderful evening.

    MercyMe at Akron Civic Theatre

by Bobbyeddy on 10/19/09Akron Civic Theatre - Akron

First of all...the Akron City Theatre is an awesome place...lots of history...and great acoustics..Fee was awesome...really lead the crowd well as did newcomer Johnny Diaz...MercyMe is in a class by itself...you can tell they've been together since 1994...very tight musically..and the lead singer was awe inspiring with his praises to God and our Savior Jesus Christ...They fully support Compassion International, and I appreciate getting to see home movies of them travelling to meet their sponsored children...they walk the walk and talk the talk....

    Music good, Civic balcony HOT

by CCMlover on 10/19/09Akron Civic Theatre - Akron

I enjoyed the concert but sitting in the balcony was very uncomfortable to the point of affecting the experience in a very negative way. It was blazing hot up there and the seats are for sardines! I am a short woman and felt sorry for any big guys sitting in those seats. MercyMe was great, loved the staging and lighting, but the bass was cranked up to "assault level", at least in my seat. Bart & crew put on a really polished show but still brought a lot of warmth onstage. I bet this was a GREAT concert from the lower level seats.

MercyMe was simply OFF THE CHARTS!

by katieanna on 10/19/09Akron Civic Theatre - Akron

I have been a long-time fan of MercyMe since the beginning. Their music has gotten me through some really rough times and inspired me to deepen my faith. The concert was a great mix of classic and newer tunes with interludes of sincere exchange with the audience. God has really blessed the talened individuals in this band.... it makes me want to pursue my own passions with greater zeal. Thank you for coming to Akron guys! You touched the audience in ways you may never fully know or understand. Thank you for sharing your gift of music and faith. GOD BLESS YOU. Kate C. in Westlake

Mercy Me and Jeremy Camp were awesome

by zoocop on 8/18/09Hoosier Lottery Grandstand - Indianapolis

The show was great. The best concert I have ever been to. The energy was wonderful. I felt like God was right there with us while we all worshiped. This was much more than a concert it was a true worshiping experience. I would reccommend to anyone wanting to experience the Holy Spirit's presence to attend one of these concerts. I went away feeling refreshed.

I could be a Mercy Me groupie

by wedda on 8/16/09Hoosier Lottery Grandstand - Indianapolis

Mercy Me and Jeremy Camp was amazing. I love both of them. I had watched for the tickets to go on sale and bought them as soon as they were availible. I got front and center! My daughter was suppose to go with me but ended up having surgery. 3 hours before the concert I still was going by myself. My step daughter was at work as a nurse and her boss let her off to go with me.She has thanked me numerous times. These groups are incredible. We laughed we cried we danced and had a great night. Mercy Me had us sing Won't back down by tom Petty. They done a great job, we even sounded good.lol One of my favorite parts was when they told us to dance like we were home alone( most of us didn't) After the concert I told everyone I could become a Mercy Me groupie I will go every time they come here and I recommend everyone see them at least once.I know you won't be dissapointed.

JEREMY CAMP AND MERCY ME WERE AWESOME!!!!!

by Subiesan on 8/14/09Hoosier Lottery Grandstand - Indianapolis

We have been to alot of concerts, this was one of the best. Jeremy Camp was awesome, being that he was back home in Indiana. To worship with thousands of people is always a blessing. We have never been to a Mercy Me concert that was not great, they are in our prayers, after the accident they could have canceled.

    MercyMe with Jeremy Camp

by Penster on 8/13/09Hoosier Lottery Grandstand - Indianapolis

Jeremy Camp opened as the sun was setting on the Indana State Fair. We were seated on the track - to the right of the stage. The speakers onstage obstructed our view and we were unable to see the light effects during MercyMe. It was a wonderful night of praise and worship - loved the interaction with the crowd. The discounted CD's were a bonus! The only disappointment I felt came when I later viewed the DVD included in "10" and realized it was a duplicate of the concert - even down to the "scripted" comments.
