Jimmy Buffett on Tour

Jimmy Buffett is the tropical musician, songwriter and author known for "Margaritaville." Core groups of devoted fans known as Parrotheads follow him religiously. Jimmy's live concerts are soul-satisfying events, with many performed for charity. Jimmy, along with Toby Keith and Kenny Chesney, played a benefit concert for hurricane victims in Florida on November 19, 2017. Jimmy Buffett's biggest hits are "Margaritaville," "Changes in Latitude" and "Come Monday." Aside from his music, he is the author of three New York Times bestselling novels and a serial businessman with a large chain of restaurants, as well as minor league baseball teams, hotels and casinos, and officially licensed products of many types. In 2003, he won an award from the Academy of Country Music for his duet with Alan Jackson on "It's Five O'Clock Somewhere." Of his more than 30 albums released, eight are Gold and nine are Platinum or Multi-Platinum albums.

Jimmy Buffett in Concert

Jimmy Buffett Background Jimmy Buffett was born on Christmas Day, 1946 in Pascagoula, Mississippi and raised in Mobile, Alabama, getting involved in the band at a young age and picking up the guitar during college. Influenced by his grandfather, who was a sailor, and by country music while working for Billboard Magazine in Nashville, Jimmy tried to break into music in Nashville, but his sound did not mesh with the brand of country music popular in the 1970s. Jimmy then went to Key West and found his calling: good-time island music sometimes called "gulf and western." Jimmy honed his easygoing beach bum persona playing for drinks at the Chart Room Bar in Key West's Pier House Motel. When Jim Croce died unexpectedly in 1973, ABC/Dunhill Records called Jimmy to fill the void. He released albums regularly: 1973's A White Sport Coat and a Pink Crustacean; two in 1974, Living & Dying in 3/4 Time and A1A; followed by Havana Daydreamin' in 1976. His breakout album was 1977's Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes, which included the hit song "Margaritaville." Today, Jimmy is a major influence in both music and philanthropy. He often performs high-value benefit concerts for victims of natural disasters. Snapdragon Stadium Is Not Ready For The Big League

by Carolini on 5/27/23Snapdragon Stadium - San Diego

Jimmy Buffet always delivers... he's Jimmy! Snapdragon stadium was about the worst venue I've ever experienced in all my years of attending concerts around the world. The event organizers had no idea how to manage the crowd or even how to manage the venue. We stood in a line, to stand in a line to stand in a line to just get into the venue. Then stood in another line to get a bracelet that allowed us to stand in another line to get the the stadium floor. People who paid less to not be on the stadium floor actually got to bypass several of the lines. Had we known this I would have purchased the cheaper tickets and bypassed several of the lines. Completely ridiculous.

    AWESOME SHOW - AS ALWAYS

by AJ on 5/27/23Snapdragon Stadium - San Diego

LOVE Buffet and friends! (Can't give less than 5 stars for that!) Was a great show. Less impressed with Snapdragon. I had floor seats close to the stage, but that meant walking FAR to get to restrooms, beverages and snacks. The signature beverages were kinda gross- super sugary-- and those were the only options on the floor-- unless you walked up to get something else. Also- the line to get in a was a bit ridiculous. For floor seats you had to get in a second line to get a wristband-- and it took a while! This was Snapdragon's first concert, so I hope they work on all this!

    Gate

by Randi on 5/22/23Snapdragon Stadium - San Diego

Great concert, including opening acts, the only downside is the e ticket system, huge backup at the gates while attendees and stadium employees struggled to find/display/scan tickets.

    Love this guy but....

by Jonsride on 5/22/23Snapdragon Stadium - San Diego

Love Jimmy Buffett. Saw him a couple years ago at Coors and I was just a different energy than this concert. This latest concert he just seemed like he was going through the motions. I know it was his last catchup concert but his energy was just not there.

    Great time!

by Judy on 5/20/23Snapdragon Stadium - San Diego

While parking was expensive it was an easy in and out for us. The new stadium is open and light,,not sure how that will go on a hot day! Lots of great local food options, but we had already had dinner. Sound was good....disappointing not to have the big screens on, while there were some smallet screens. You can't go wrong with Jimmy Buffett.

    JB

    by C. S. on 5/19/23Snapdragon Stadium - San Diego

Two hours of opening acts and intermission is too long. I'd have enjoyed Jimmy more if he'd started before my butt was numb. Also the screens need to be bigger. Lighting flashing in the eyes of the audience detracted from the performance. The prices of the concessions is outrageous.

    Mediocre

by OB on 5/17/23Snapdragon Stadium - San Diego

the sound system was awesome - the song list too unfamiliar - standing in line for 40" for a beer absurd - and they sold cans of beer with cups that were not large enough so some of the beer had to be consumed in place or tossed out by server - in all a dissapointing experience - and the $20 margarita's were nothing more than sweetened slush - with no detecable tequila - a very expensive mediocre experience

    Snapdragon Stadium

by Monday Morning on 5/13/23Snapdragon Stadium - San Diego

I was extremely disappointed with the design and management of the new Snapdragon stadium. The hired help was disorganized and untrained. The stadium itself was shockingly very poorly designed. There were not nearly enough bathrooms and there were up to 50 or more people in line., same for the concessions. Besides that, Buffett is always a blast!

    Bring an extra bladder

by Margaritaville on 5/11/23Snapdragon Stadium - San Diego

The number of restrooms in the parking lot is inadequate. It’s be fine if people simply parked and walked to the stadium, but for a 3-4 hour tailgate with thousands of people, the number of restrooms needs to triple. For people with floor seats, the extra line (once you’re inside) to get a floor wristband takes 30-45 minutes. This was a very poor idea.

    Not the best

by Mel on 5/11/23Snapdragon Stadium - San Diego

Jimmy and his band seemed to lack energy. Been to many JB concerts and this one was lower energy than the others. Hope Jimmy is ok. Tailgating was awesome.

Loved the show. Bucket list seeing Jimmy Buffet. Snapdragon was a very nice stadium and the food was delicious but expensive. Definitely would recommend seeing him in person.

Jimmy was GREAT! Venue was "ehhhh"

by Mgmken on 5/10/23Snapdragon Stadium - San Diego

JIMMY WAS AWESOME! Great time was had. But Snapdragon has some improvement to make before I spend that kind of money on a concert at this venue again. This is the review on the stadium in terms of a concert: 1). Parking, $50.00 for dirt, gravel, dust...lots of pot holes from the rain. Terrible. I dont know why we people have let these venues charge so much. Stop going and they may come down (but thats another conversation)! 2). Leaving the parking lot was disorganized and there are no "rows" to get out of... they have a lot of "getting better" to do. Terrible. All of their employees are new and need training as well. That was poor. 3). The stadium... lots of stairs. Holy smokes, you better be in shape to get to the top of the stadium. WOW! 4). The food hall area, pretty nice, lots of choices...NOT a lot of tables. They need way more for a concert. Crack Shack sucked by the way. 5). The "Big Screens" for buffet were turned off? Just the screens on the stage were used and those were even smaller. Snapdragon Big Screens are like watching the big screen at Pechanga (Sports Arena). So small for a 2023 venue. And the concert screens were hard to see for the cheap seats! 6). The SOUND... come on Snapdragon, get some speakers for the people in the back! Concerts are usually crazy loud. The sound (at a concert!) was weak. REALLY need some more speakers throughout. Not "ring my ears for 3 days" loud, but definitely more volume than this. 7). Long lines! The girls bathroom line was super long. There were a ton of port-a-pottys too. This event wasnt close to being sold out and the restrooms were overwhelmed!!?? At a new stadium? Poor planning! 8). More on the lines... they placed drink vendors near the entrance and the lines would form right in the walkways. There should be some stanchions pointing the line in the proper direction. More drink carts, more areas for vendors to not block the walkways would be nicer. Again, Jimmy Buffett was awesome, fun, glad I got to see him and the band. But the new stadium needs some improvements made.

    Love Love Jimmy

by VS on 5/10/23Snapdragon Stadium - San Diego

It was great. I’ve been to several of his concerts. Only suggestion is to have more than one merchandise stand. Wanted to buy a T-shirt but the line was too long. It was perfect at Snapdragon sound was great!!

Everyone had a great time. The performances were awesome!

by Barbara on 5/10/23Snapdragon Stadium - San Diego

The parking lot of Snapdragon sucked. The unpaved parking lot with dips and gravel was difficult for my 80 year old mother (who refuses to get a handicap sticker) to navigate. Getting out of the stadium lot was a nightmare.

    Long lines

by Bobby on 5/10/23Snapdragon Stadium - San Diego

After waiting in line to get in, we had another long line for wrist bands because we had floors seats. 20 min line to get a 3 oz glass of wine for $15 was disappointing

    Jimmy Buffett

by Roger on 5/10/23Snapdragon Stadium - San Diego

All three bands were awesome. Seats were great. Food and drinks way overpriced. Elevators need an attendant so handicapped people don’t have to wait in long line behind people who are able to use the stairs. Security and ushers were very nice

    Great concert, great venue!

by Open15 on 5/10/23Snapdragon Stadium - San Diego

Had the time of our lives. Jimmy was back, the music was great, the video screens were fantastic. The best time singing Buffett songs with 30,000 fans.

    Jason Mraz/Jimmy Buffett

by Conchboy69 on 5/10/23Snapdragon Stadium - San Diego

Great concert with a good melding of these two artists. I wish they both could have added 3-4 more songs. The facility needs to upgrade it’s bathroom facilities. It was too hard for ground floor people to travel up two levels when required.
