Houston Texans Team History
Established in 1999 as Houston’s second NFL franchise (after the Oilers moved and became the Titans), the Houston Texans did not participate in their first official NFL season until 2002. In their first home opener, the Texans beat the Dallas Cowboys 19-10, becoming the first NFL expansion team to win their opening game since the Vikings beat the Bears in 1961.
The Texans secured their first big win as the AFC South champions in 2011 and clinched their first berth into the playoffs. They have since secured the title five more times, in 2012, 2015, 2016, 2018, and 2019.

The Houston Texans’ name and logo was unveiled before thousands of fans in September 2000. According to the late Texans owner Bob McNair, the name and logo of the Houston Texans was chosen to “embody the pride, strength, independence and achievement that make the people of Houston and our area special." McNair received approval to use the Texans name from Kansas City Chiefs owner Lamar Hunt as the Texans name had been previously used by the Dallas Texans, the precursor to today’s Chiefs.
I really enjoyed the ease of using my Apple wallet to get entrance into the stadium. It made for a very pleasant, enjoyable experience.
It was a great day overall. Parking was easy, tailgating was fun, entering the stadium was a breeze, and the seats were good…
Great Sunday afternoon with my better half at NRG Stadium, good game, great snacks. Overall wonderful day.
Everything was easy, smooth sailing, and wonderful! From the parking pass, to the pizza and drinks, the tickets it was a wonderful experience!!
I went with my son, my brother and my nephew this saturday to the NRG Stadium. We have problems with my tickets because in the plataform only one ticket was sold, but we can arrenged the other three tickets with the aid of your people. It was a wounderful evening and night!!! We arrived two hours before the game and we enjoyed so much the music, the food and the enviroment with the cheerleaders and the crowd. Then in the game, the participation with the leader in the microphone was unique!!! Thank you very much for the opportunity to pass a very good time. It was a pity that the texans were lost the game...,
Very nice atmosphere... Nice facility, the drinks and food were good a lil pricey but good. I would attend other functions there.
Gave as gift to mt husband he loved it and had a great time.
Had a great time. Took my 7 yr old and he really enjoyed himself as well. We've been going for 3 years now and always have a great time.
The venue and entertainment were great! I was disappointed that I couldn’t experience The Rustic’s menu since only concession food was available. the only other drawback was they removed too many chairs.
Pricey, not enough places to sit for the amount of ppl
Music, food, atmosphere and performances were all great!!
I could not believe the lack of any big screen TV’s and seating. Both of these could have been rented and supplied.
The experience was great for my first time attending an nfl game. I will be headed back when the season starts again!
I’m a Buffalo Bills fan living in Florida now. I drove to Houston for the playoff game. I was impressed how nice the fans were- a few joked with me but nothing malicious. My seats were good even though I was in the 600’s. I was able to see everything. The stadium is really nice- it was a great time- even though we lost :( I would def go back to visit Houston.
As many already know, it was a great event to watch against the Bills, both teams with a big fan base, clashed in the stadium. As far as the Ticketmaster experience, highly recommended, no issues with the purchasing, delivery of the e-tickets and no issues with reading them at the event.
Purchased these seats from ticket master this is the 7th game I have been to this year at multiple stadiums across the country these seats did not list as an obstructed view unable to see replays, down and distance as well as the play clock. Very terrible experience seats were in the concession area on an extended bleacher with folding chair. Ticket master did not list obstructed view.
One of the best football games I have ever been too. Great atmosphere and a roller coaster of lead changes
Came alive in the third quarter. but really loved the venue space. very adult and trendy.
Anytime to go to an event in your home town and win ! It’s always a great time !! Go Texans !!! Super bowl bound !!! 🏈
The 1st half of the TEXANS game was slow, but i knew they would come back in the 2nd half, they just need a few brakes. They were provided with those breaks and the crowd with wild after Watson broke free and threw the ball and the rest was history
