Houston Texans Team History
Established in 1999 as Houston’s second NFL franchise (after the Oilers moved and became the Titans), the Houston Texans did not participate in their first official NFL season until 2002. In their first home opener, the Texans beat the Dallas Cowboys 19-10, becoming the first NFL expansion team to win their opening game since the Vikings beat the Bears in 1961.
The Texans secured their first big win as the AFC South champions in 2011 and clinched their first berth into the playoffs. They have since secured the title five more times, in 2012, 2015, 2016, 2018, and 2019.

The Houston Texans’ name and logo was unveiled before thousands of fans in September 2000. According to the late Texans owner Bob McNair, the name and logo of the Houston Texans was chosen to “embody the pride, strength, independence and achievement that make the people of Houston and our area special." McNair received approval to use the Texans name from Kansas City Chiefs owner Lamar Hunt as the Texans name had been previously used by the Dallas Texans, the precursor to today’s Chiefs.

The game was okay. The stadium was okay, I guess because I like Jerry's World. The refs were horrible. But good luck on next season. I live in Dallas, and I will say this, the people are very cordial and friendly! But hey, that's how these people are in Texas.
NRG is a great stadium to watch a game. Plenty of restrooms and concessions. While the game between the Chiefs and Texans was expected to be a blow out for the Chiefs, it turned out to be a nail biter. It was a real battle but the Chiefs came out on top! Exciting! Go Chiefs!
Best time at the tailgate! Good food and well organized
I felt good to have no issue for buying tickets and watched the whole game. I’m happy to see my favorite team to beat Houston Texans 😂😂😂
We are from the DMV, went to Texas to support my son’s business adventurer. We had and open day with nothing to do. He told me the Commander were in town. Never did I think tickets were available so I checked. TicketMaster made it so easy to purchase tickets will use service again and again
The tickets and parking pass worked great. The Stadium in Houston, staff, fans were the best I’ve experienced in a long time. The City of Houston is beautiful, had a great time will go back.
From the time of arrival it was red carpet treatment at the prepaid parking. Excellent access for my elderly father and our tailgate party was a hit. Scanning our 8 tickets went smoothly and we enjoyed everything about the food the facility and the service was second to none. Just a fantastic experience.
User friendly web site and easy to buy, sell and transfer tickets. Good follow-up to ensure we were on top of our event.
The sound system was not good when slim thug was singing during half time…
Game was great and the eagles won. A lot of eagles were in the building.
The game was amazing, very nice stadium! Easy entry with the mobile app!
Texans offence is horrible. Sad to put that product on the field Too many TV commercials. I don’t notice it when watching football on TV, I get up and do something during that time. At the game live just watching the players stand around. It ruins the flow of the game Food is unhealthy, expensive and generally tasteless. If y’all are going to charge that much you should improve the quality First time seeing the Texans live, it took me too long to find the yellow parking lot I reserved.
It’s my second time out in the NRG and it’s been a great experience. Does take a while to get out of the parking lot but I’m sure that’s just about anywhere
My family and I have attended several NFL games at NRG Stadium, and we always have a good time. Big thank you to all the staff members for all their hard work, day in and day out, to ensure all the attendees enjoy their events.
Great seats and great game!!! It was a close and hard fought contest with the Titans coming out on top.
Attended the Texans vs Seahawk game here on 12/12/2021. A simple quick wss was LJ from the Air BnB apartment across the street from the facility. Friendly staff from the point of entry to our seats and all vendors and concession booths we visited. Our seats on row JJ of section 124 we in the shade the entire open roof game. We had been sent an email prior to let us know it would be open and dress accordingly. After the game we enjoyed the Art walk and beautiful sculptures on the grounds
From selling and transferring the tickets to me, everything went well and had a blast at the game . Have no complaints
All was great and very easy to use! Game wasn’t very good but the experience was a never ending experience’
Houston is a great host. Great atmosphere, friendly people and stadium is great. Only complaint is a small one, wish concession stands took cash, other then that fantastic.
