Houston Texans Team History
Established in 1999 as Houston’s second NFL franchise (after the Oilers moved and became the Titans), the Houston Texans did not participate in their first official NFL season until 2002. In their first home opener, the Texans beat the Dallas Cowboys 19-10, becoming the first NFL expansion team to win their opening game since the Vikings beat the Bears in 1961.
The Texans secured their first big win as the AFC South champions in 2011 and clinched their first berth into the playoffs. They have since secured the title five more times, in 2012, 2015, 2016, 2018, and 2019.

The Houston Texans’ name and logo was unveiled before thousands of fans in September 2000. According to the late Texans owner Bob McNair, the name and logo of the Houston Texans was chosen to “embody the pride, strength, independence and achievement that make the people of Houston and our area special." McNair received approval to use the Texans name from Kansas City Chiefs owner Lamar Hunt as the Texans name had been previously used by the Dallas Texans, the precursor to today’s Chiefs.

I thoroughly enjoyed watching the game yesterday. The excitement of the crowd, the energy of the players, and the overall atmosphere of the stadium made it an unforgettable experience for me.
I knew that I had to cheer the team for the titan game. I had a great seat.
NRG stadium is a great venue to watch a game and the ticket process was seamless.
The stadium experience was great! The people, food, and amenities were all good. One area of improvement would be exiting the Green parking lot, it appears that management of street flow of traffic was the significant bottleneck.
Everything was great!!! Polite and very nice Very clean in all areas Security was there where needed, in my opinion
Excel service, everything ok with our tickets and setas were great !!!
We started off with a little tailgating which consisted of some good bbq tacos, cold beers, good music and like minded Texans fans. Inside NRG Stadium, the crowd was loud and proud, excited about our Texans. You could feel the hometown energy. Though we lost a close one, my son and I had a blast, but importantly we made a sweet, bonding memory together. The 6 hour drive was definitely worth it. #WeAreTexans 🤘
Had a great time at the game! This was my first visit to NRG for a football game and it didn’t disappoint! I will be back no doubt for another Jags game!
GREAT Experience. Second Time around. Loved The Atmosphere and Crowd. Tailgaters were Fun. You could HAVE a BETTER Selection in Beer. light and mexican was the ONLY Types I saw Mainly. I saw a FEW Blue Moons but they ran Out Quickly. I HAD to switch to water afterwards. Thanks for a Good Time though. Other than that It was a Great Experience.
Great venue. Great game. Parked in the yellow lot, took maybe 20 minutes to get inside. Look for the H-town eats food booths in the stadium. They feature local chefs, food trucks, etc. Way better than the other typical food places.
it was the first time for me to go to an nfl match live! it was actually a full day program with bbqing before the match enjoying the match and chilling after! tha stadium was really well organised even if there were so many fans in there! loved every moment of it, and btw amazing Texans’ win!!
I had a really good time at the TEXANS game. I am disabled so getting to my seat was difficult. I wanted to sit in the handicap area but they told me that I had sit in my assigned seat which meant that I had to deal with stairs. Which my knees gave out and I fell. Some fans helped me up and also helped me out at the end of the game.
Thank You for the awesome Experience. I will defiantly be back.
Food was actually awesome. Venue was great. Pleasant experience. A little warm. Nice to have free refills.
This is the second time that I visit NRG Stadium in less than a year and the all experience is one of the best that I ever had. I will keep coming for other events that just sports events.
Smooth experience! Recommend using ticketmaster to everyone.
I purchased a parking pass with my game tickets. The parking lot was supposed to be close to where are seats were. That was incorrect! We were on opposite end of the stadium. I am not about the other parking lots but the YELLOW lot is predominantly grass. If you are there in wet weather this could be a problem for those driving 2 wheel drive vehicles.
I am a true die hard chief fan. I loved the stadium was a good time a little ruff on the calls but over all a good time. Chief kingdom was present and in the Stadium.
First time ever being in NGR stadium. Everything seemed very clean and well organized. I was very surprised to see so many empty seats. The sound system could use an upgrade.
