TIM RICE and ANDREW LLOYD WEBBER's Tony Award®-winning musical returns at last!
Eva Perón used her beauty and charisma to rise meteorically from the slums of Argentina to the presidential mansion as First Lady. Adored by her people as a champion for the poor, she became one of the most powerful women in the world — while her greed, outsized ambition and fragile health made her one of the most tragic. EVITA tells Eva's passionate and unforgettable true story, and features some of theater's most beautiful songs, including "Don't Cry for Me Argentina," "Another Suitcase in Another Hall" and "High Flying, Adored." Don't miss the stunning new production of EVITA, directed by MICHAEL GRANDAGE and choreographed by ROB ASHFORD, that Channel 4 New York calls “THE HOTTEST TICKET IN TOWN!”

Evita is a classic! A musical with dance, humor, song and energy! The performance in San Antonio was great but not memorable. The role of Evita requires a very strong voice. The performer in San Antonio was talented but did not have the voice you would expect. At times it was more like screaming than singing. I applaud her for her efforts but she did not quite hit the mark. All in all it was a fun experience! Cannot get the music out of my head!!
From the Majestic to the Show Evita is was AMAZING. A must see!!!
The narrarator has an awesome voiceand the musical was very entertaining. Thoroughly enjoyed the show
The best show in town was the crowd at Majestic crying, "Eva Peron!"
The power of Andrew Lloyd Webber's music and the movement of the Argentine tango made for an unforgettable evening.
The scenery did not change much and the crowds etc. were very small, taking away from the play considerably. The scenes with the soldiers and the "upper crust" were kinda lame also. Would have prefers sticking with the original play production.
I have wanted to see "Evita" since it first premiered when I was a little kid. When I saw the production was coming to San Antonio, to the Majestic Theater, it was just a no brainer to purchase tickets--to see a beautiful show in a setting as beautiful as the Majestic...you don't miss out on that. Anyhoo, what I liked: the showmanship was fantastic; there are some genuinely funny and genuinely touching moments; the dancing was energetic, at times very moving, and then there's the fact that everyone made the tango look effortless; the singing...holy cow has Caroline Bowman (who played the title role the night we went) got some pipes! Also, the story itself is irresistible, predominantly because it's true and rather tragic. Lastly, while I'd found Eva Peron to be mildly intriguing, I'd never really researched her, even leading up to seeing "Evita". The morning after, however, I spent a couple of hours researching her, her husband and Peronist Argentina. If a Broadway show can inspire someone to learn something new, then that's a pretty cool outcome. Things I didn't like as much: the music is definitely dated (save for the musical's iconic "Don't Cry for Me, Argentina"); the story as written, while still portraying Eva Peron as a sympathetic character, I think still casts her in a less attractive light than might actually have been the case in real life (e.g. her good works are made to look insincere, when in fact she actually did drive important change in Argentina). Also--and it's certainly not a criticism, just something I didn't expect--the ENTIRE musical truly is a musical, which is to say, there is not a single spoken line of dialogue, everything is sung. Overwhelmingly, though, I truly enjoyed the experience and would gladly go see it again.
This is one of my favorite musical and I enjoyed it very much. Had a hard time hearing some of the songs.
Evita was a beautiful and AMAZING show! Beginning to end, top to bottom, this show had you yearning for more! A MUST SEE!
After seeing EVITA, my spouse and I both agreed that this Broadway musical did not meet our expectations. In our comparisons to others that we have seen, to us it seems to be overall below average. One of us would condemn the score and the other the voices. One of us did not like the production and the other the seemingly lack of good acting. Each of us had read of her life and rise to fame, but this presentation did not seem to Live it! Don't get us wrong! Its like getting bad service at your favorite restaurant, you will return and request a different waiter.
I enjoyed the performance from the beginning to the end.Amazing Experience!!!
Watered down version from the previous performances of Evita years ago. Choreography clearly simplified (e.g. The marching eliminated, etc.
The show was absolutely spectacular!!! Loved the realism and the fact that they had humor in it.. By far best show I've seen so far.. The music, their amazing voices , this is a don't miss show...
I have seen this play 5 times. Overall this cast was the absolute best, from top to bottom. I wish I could have personally said so to each member, and musician. Well done!! Thank you for bringing such a terrific show on the road.
The production of Evita was first rate. The leads were wonderful and the ensemble spectacular. We thoroughly enjoyed the performance.
A dancers dream. At times bizarre staging. Che's role in play diminished.
I thought that the play was completely amazing and I would love to go see it again. The actors where absolutely magnificent and I was so glad that I was able to go. I can't wait to go back to the Majestic, and I plan on seeing EVITA again in the future .
I am a HUGE fan of the movie Evita!! Own both the movie & CD. I was overall satisfied with the show BUT was especially annoyed with the woman who played Eva, she screamed her lyrics..There was no need for screaming like that, made the lyrics hard to understand.
Even from the nosebleed section, the production was extraordinary! The cast was pitch perfect and you could just see how much fun they were having on stage. Enjoyed it much better than the movie!
