DYING FETUS IN CONCERT:
Death metal mainstay Dying Fetus has been inducing shock and awe with their bludgeoning sound and bone-crunching live shows for more than two decades, and they show no signs of letting up any time soon. The band chose their intentionally offensive name while still just adolescents in the ‘90s, but over the years they’ve become known for a more mature brand of metal thanks to their pointed political lyrics—a unique feature among metal bands. At their live shows the group gives their legions of diehard fans exactly what they want—bloodthirsty growls, scorching slam riffs, blistering blast beats, and insanely heavy breakdowns that rattle the walls of every venue they play. From their face-melting festival performances to their epic headlining sets on the 2016 Metal Alliance Tour, Dying Fetus always unleashes a savage dose of metal mayhem that gets ticket buyers thrashing like there’s no tomorrow.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Dying Fetus was formed in Upper Marlboro, MD in 1991 by singer and guitarist John Gallagher, who has remained the band’s driving force ever since. After cutting their teeth with the demo collections Bathe in Entrails (1993) and Infatuation with Malevolence (1994), the band released their 1996 debut album Purification Through Violence. They followed up with 1998’s Killing on Adrenaline and 2000’s Destroy the Opposition, rising to underground prominence thanks to their decibel-shattering sound and hard-hitting performances on the road. Cult notoriety gave way to commercial success with 2007’s War of Attrition, which peaked at No. 25 on Billboard’s Heatseekers chart. Their next two albums—2009’s Descend into Depravity and 2012’s Reign Supreme—both cracked the Top 5 on that chart, proving that their heavy sound has broad appeal.
Great sound and great lighting, packed house, the bands were ones ya wouldn't want to miss! House of Blues San Diego is an awesome venue!
All the bands were great, but 5 bands is a lot to sit through. By the time Dying Fetus went on a lot of people started to leave, including myself. The other issue I had was the lighting at HOB. Pretty much anywhere you went really bright stage lights would beam out into the crowd and pretty much blind you.
This was my first time at Masquerade. I was in town as a tourist and when I arrived in Atlanta my husband called to let me know Dying Fetus was playing that night. Dying Fetus put on a great show. They really killed it. The venue and crowd tho, OMG! The venues was amazing, the sound system was great, and the scene/crowd was phenomenal. LOVED EVERY MOMENT.
Good sound quality good view of the stage great lineup
Dying Fetus, The Acacia Atrain, Despised Icon gave me my monies worth.
Everything ran smoothly. Got through the door quickly and was able to find seats fast.
I dont even know where to begin... awesome bands..All the members of them...totalllly cool...Id due this 1 over again...wasaay worth it
Dying fetus and aborted absolutely crushed at live at the house of blues a killer venue for metal shows🤘👊
best. show. ever. everyone there was amazing the bands were so nice to meet I loved it. it was worth the trip all the way from alaska. thank you guys for such the amazing show and ticket master for making things so easy.
The entire Chaos and Carnage concert was awesome!! Can't wait til next year.
I attended the chaos and carnage 2023 and it was far from disappointing the only thing I could complain is I was never sent info in regards to the meet and greet for the VIP upgrade and missed the opportunity to meet my favorite band and the band the got me into metal music but my wife and I still got all the stuff for VIP like the shirt, posters, laminates, and our liquid death waters overall it was a great time!
Dying fetus was incredibly great BUT I just wish the vocals were more audible and also in between all the bands sets music not relating to the bands we were seeing was played. I think it would be more enjoyable if more metal orientated music was played in between sets at this particular event. Other than a very memorable experience for sure! Phenomenal job to The House Of Blues, Dying Fetus and all the other bands who played on this bill!
Great clean venue. Sound quality was amazing. Cant wait to see this again!
Great experience. Affordable drinks. Loved being close enough to get to meet some of the artists after their set.
Dying fetus put on one hell of a show. Vocals were alittle drowned out from everything else but that’s to be expected. Would absolutely attend again. Absolutely loved the performance
I thoroughly enjoyed this music fest. Suicide Silence was my personal favorite. Aborted, Born of Osiris and Dying Fetus were also good. I would attend it again, it was worth the time and money spent.
Great show. They are fantastic musicians and the pit was a blast. The openers were great too. Frozen Soul was terrific. I wasn’t a huge fan of Chelsea Grin tho.
Best show ever! My first Dying Fetus concert and loved it. Many more to come!!!!
Sound Equality needed to be provided for all the bands that play the same show.
The venue had multiple levels so that you can see the stage no matter where you are standing. They had two different merch locations there so you didn't have to wait in line too long. The show was fabulous. Great lineup. Chelsea Grin was badass and Dying Fetus did not disappoint! The openers were amazing and set the tone for the rest of the night. We had a great time!
