About

One of the main originators of the modern prog-metal movement, Birmingham, Alabama's ERRA burst onto the scene in the early 2010s. The five-piece took influence from acts like Misery Signals, As I Lay Dying, Born of Osiris, and Saosin, ERRA have released numerous albums and toured with like-minded bands such as As I Lay Dying, August Burns Red, Tesseract, Ice Nine Kills, Glass Cloud, Within the Ruins, and Texas in July.

ERRA was formed in 2009 by high-school friends Alex Ballew, Jesse Cash, Adam Hicks, Garrison Lee, and Alan Rigdon. Coming out of the MySpace music era, ERRA wrote and self-released two EPS: 2009's self-titled and 2010's Andromeda. Tragic Hero Records, based in Raleigh, North Carolina, took notice of what ERRA was up to and signed them in 2011. The same year, ERRA released their debut studio album: Impulse.

The following year, Hicks left the band and was replaced by guitarist Sean Price. ERRA also began recording their sophomore studio album, Augment, which came out in October 2013. In 2014, Lee and Rigdon also left the band, and bassist Price moved to rhythm guitar, while vocalist Ian Eubanks replaced Lee.

In 2014, ERRA signed with Sumerian Records and released a new EP, Moments of Clarity, which reached No. 1 on Billboard's Heatseekers Albums chart. In 2015, ERRA opened for August Burns Red (on their Frozen Flame tour) and Tesseract (on their Polaris tour). Eubanks also left ERRA in 2015 and was replaced by former Texas in July member J.T. Cavey.

In 2016, ERRA released their third album, Drift, which also hit No. 1 on the Billboard Heatseekers Albums chart. ERRA also toured that year on Sumerian's 10-year anniversary tour with Born of Osiris, Veil of Maya, After the Burial, and Bad Omens.

Two years later, ERRA released their fourth album, Neon, which, like its predecessor, hit No. 1 on the Billboard Heatseekers Albums chart. That fall, they went on tour with After the Burial and The Acacia Strain. The following summer, ERRA hit the road with Northlane, Crystal Lake and Currents and released a cover of Queens of the Stone Age's "You Think I Ain't Worth a Dollar, But I Feel Like a Millionaire."

By 2020, ERRA opted to part ways with Sumerian Records and signed with Australian heavy-metal label UNFD. From there, they released a string of singles and announced a new, self-titled album, which dropped in March 2021. Six months later, they released an instrumental version.

In early 2022, ERRA released a deluxe version of their eponymous  effort along with the single "Nigh to Silence." Price also announced his departure from the band. When not touring with ERRA, Jesse Cash performs with his side project, Ghost Atlas.

    What a great experience!

    by Gretchen on 8/16/22

Really loved the concert but the VIP option was really special. These guys are genuine and down to earth. My husband's a huge fan of Erra and I got the package as a bday gift. We've had a really tough year and this was just such an awesome break from reality. I'm not even a metal fan and had a great time.

    Breach

by Nephilim Dagon on 8/16/22Gramercy Theatre - New York

The energy at this show was incredible! All the opening acts contributed to the mind blowing performance Erra gave at the end. Each band was so tight and the sound at the venue was A1. Erra sounded better than the records at this show, peak musicianship on display. This tour is one I’ll remember for the rest of my life
