About

DEAD & COMPANY IN CONCERT:

Deadheads rejoice! The Grateful Dead have been reborn as Dead & Company, delivering all the groovy vibes and extended jams fans know and love. Longtime Dead members Bob Weir, Bill Kreutzmann, and Mickey Hart are joined by superstar singer/songwriter and accomplished blues guitarist John Mayer as they blend rock, folk, funk, jazz, and psychedelia to blow fans' minds with epic aural bliss. With their spacey instrumental interplay and awe-inspiring solos, the group organically weaves their way through audience favorites like "Truckin'", "Casey Jones", and "Fire on the Mountain". The long, strange trip is back on the road -- Dead & Company are bringing their positive energy and uncanny musical genius to ticket buyers everywhere.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

The Grateful Dead were instrumental to the '60s psychedelic sound and hippie culture. Jerry Garcia (guitar/vocals), Bob Weir (guitar/vocals), Phil Lesh (bass/vocals), Bill Kreutzmann (drums), and Ron McKernan (keyboards/vocals) got things rolling in 1965. Excluding McKernan and Garcia, who died in 1973 and 1995 respectively, the core lineup has remained virtually unchanged sinc then. Many other musicians have helped shape the band’s sound as well, especially second drummer Mickey Hart, who joined the Dead in 1967. The band toured excessively throughout the ‘70s, ‘80s, and ‘90s, famously playing sets that exceeded the three-hour mark. After Garcia's death the group soldiered on, continuing to build their legacy through fearless sonic exploration. It was not until their 50th anniversary in 2015 that the Grateful Dead decided to retire their name. Fortunately for fans, their retirement was short-lived as pop singer/songwriter and blues guitarist extraordinaire John Mayer brought Weir, Hart, and Kreutzmann back out for more legendary jam sessions. Dead & Company continues in the Dead's spontaneous and inventive musical tradition -- just the way Deadheads like it.

The Sphere is the new 8th wonder of the world. This show with the Dead & Co. was by far the greatest single event I have ever attended throughout the world. I have gotten to experience a lot and nothing comes close to what I got to see at this show!! Looking forward to endless more events to go to!

This is the best venue I’ve ever been to. You can hear every note of each instrument without any struggle. The music is not loud but perfect. Thank you Sphere.

    Dead 5-25 & 5-26

by Blaine L on 5/28/24Sphere - Las Vegas

Sublime experience for me as 5-25 was my 100th show and I took my three sons, 23,22 and 18. The youngest two had never seen the band and none of them had been to the sphere! Incredible experience for all of us - the Dead and the sphere were made for each other. My boys are on the bus. Incredible venue, incredible musicians. Incredible catalog of music.

So worth the money and trip! This venue is fabulous! The staff are friendly, helpful and made the experience a joy. Dead & Company lit it up! This experience a must for music lover. A bit disappointed with Ticketmaster. Capitalism at its finest.

    Fantastic Experience

by Carla on 5/28/24Sphere - Las Vegas

While I am not a Grateful Dead fan, I went to their concert w/ John Mayer @ The Sphere in Las Vegas and now have an appreciation for their guitar skills - amazing!! Overall, the show was super - lights, scenery, rolling displays etc. Hard to describe but worth the ticket to see what the Sphere has to offer.

    Spectacular

by Eric on 5/28/24Sphere - Las Vegas

I’m not a huge dead head, but I enjoy good music. The sphere alone is out of this world. Combine that with the greatest jam band of all time and John Mayer going bananas and you have an unforgettable experience. As I anticipated, there were some amazing gorgeous backgrounds as well as typical psychedelic visuals for dead and company that made the show mesmerizing. All in all, I’ve seen and experienced some fantastic things in my life and that show is a top 5 single experience I’ve had the pleasure to enjoy. Right up there with the northern lights in Iceland and sky diving over the north shore in Hawaii. Must see!

Hey now! Not that a Dead and Co. show could get much better, but the Sphere experience really amped up the whole performance. I can honestly say, I've NEVER seen anything like it in my life.

No spoilers. You need to experience it. I took my kid and he believed we were in space. Even called his grandpa at set break to tell him. Music was great, too. Mind blown. NFA.

    Otherworldly!

by AzCap on 5/27/24Sphere - Las Vegas

Dead and Company at The Sphere in Las Vegas was the ultimate concert experience! More like a trip space and time with a ship of 17,000! And an amazing sound system where the sound appeared to come from everywhere, except when the band controlled the movement of the sound. Staff at the Sphere was pleasant and helpful , the entry was easy, but rideshare afterwards was a bit of a bottleneck.

    An experience beyond description!

by Nuzwood on 5/27/24Sphere - Las Vegas

Very cool experience. Just walking into the Sphere from the Venetian you felt you were in for a unique experience. The start of the show was amazing it seemed like a curtain going up and you were being propelled into another dimension. Very interesting and trippy. The graphics were great as was the music. Great show . Something that everyone should experience at least once . Unless your a Deadhead and can afford more lol.

Almost a religious experience, Dead&Co at the Sphere

by Kenny Kool on 5/27/24Sphere - Las Vegas

I have been going to Dead concerts since the 70’s, seeing them and just about every different iteration of lineups. The only thing that could come close to the intensity of this show at the Sphere would be one of several New Year’s Eve shows that I attended over the years! The staff were courteous and helpful, plenty of food, beverage options, lots of clean bathrooms! Prices were kind of high for everything, but that is SOP in Vegas! Concert started on time, band seemed enthusiastic and tight. Then the visuals started. Words cannot describe the size, clarity and brightness of the wrap around led screen. The sound was crystal clear, Owsley would be proud! I could go on forever, this place was built for the Dead! As usual, they mix up the set lists, no repeats over several shows. Also, you must see the Dead Forever photographic exhibit at the Venetian hotel, it is free, you can also buy shirts and other band merchandise. Many historical photos from early days of the band, good narrative explaining context and reference! I also had my picture taken with “Big Steve” Parrish, long time roadie for the Dead since 1968, super nice guy. This should be a bucket list item for everyone, even if you are not a fan of the band, you will not be disappointed. My only regret was the I only attended one show, should have gone to several!
