About

Counting Crows are a Grammy and Academy Award-nominated rock band that have sold over 20 million albums worldwide. Behind popular singles “Mr. Jones” and “Round Here,” Counting Crows’ debut album August and Everything After (1993) sold 7 million copies and peaked at No. 4 on Billboard 200. The sorrowful, roots-driven vocals of singer Adam Duritz transcended the alt-rock charts with 1996’s Recovering the Satellites. Fueled by the success of “A Long December,” Recovering the Satellites reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200, cementing the Counting Crows as one of thegreatest adult alternative artists of all time.

    Loved it!

by Larkin on 9/23/23Chateau Ste Michelle Winery - Woodinville

The Counting Crows concert was fabulous! I’ve listened to more CC in the last week than in the last 15 years . So excited to have them back on my radar.

Nice experience / low energy / too many rules at the venue

by Chris on 9/21/23Chateau Ste Michelle Winery - Woodinville

Felt a little cramped on the lawn and the Chateau has imposed way too many rules these days. I also think they've eliminated lawn space in favor of higher priced seats. It used to feel a little more laid back 5-10 years ago. Bi-product of the growth in and around the Seattle area. The concert itself felt nostalgic, though Adam riffed a bit too much so it was harder to sing along...and really, for a band like this, you want to sing along. That all said, it's still a very nice experience to be at that outdoor space.

    Great band, not great experience

by N/A on 9/21/23Chateau Ste Michelle Winery - Woodinville

Great sound, excellent band. People standing in the seating section led to blocked views for 90% of the performance. The stage lights repeatedly blinded the audience. The people next to us did some drugs in the bathroom - they had a REALLY good time, but made us incredibly uncomfortable.

    Why change what wasn’t broken?

by Saddened fan on 9/20/23Chateau Ste Michelle Winery - Woodinville

I could not have been more disappointed in my experience. The venue was beautiful, but the sound was terrible. I have never been to a concert where I was able to have a normal conversation with people around me and be able to completely hear them. There were chants multiple times for them to be louder. Now on to counting crows, I am 33 years old and have seen them every chance they have been to the Pacific NW. My very first time was actually at Chateau St Michelle, and that’s where my love for them started. They have been my favorite ever since, I even chased Adam out of the venue. But this concert was something completely different. We left early. We made it about 5 songs in before all 8 of us decided to leave. I was confused, disappointed, and then angry. My favorite songs were different, music was different, words were different. They weren’t the same. Why change what you have been known for? You have a following of people who love you, for the music you have already created, why change that? I watched groups of people leave early. What was a sold out, packed full concert became scarce the more people realized the songs were different, they were different. I went home and played my Counting Crows CD’s and listened to what I loved. This has been a tradition my mom and sister have made, to see them every time they came anywhere near us, even traveled to Las Vegas to them. It’s our thing, and we all left sad and disappointed.

    Botched

by MD on 9/20/23Chateau Ste Michelle Winery - Woodinville

I wish they would’ve just stuck with the original music. It was revamped and acoustic, and a lot of people didn’t even know their most popular songs were even playing.! The venue emptied out pretty quickly 😢

    Great night

by Scott on 9/20/23Chateau Ste Michelle Winery - Woodinville

Loved this show - I have seen Counting Crows a number of times, and they are always different each time. They change up their setlist every night. Two shows in Woodinville and while they played some of their standards at both shows, half the songs were different and covered a wide range of their albums. Can't wait until they come back again after a new album. I'll be there.

    Music was just meh

by S and J on 9/20/23Chateau Ste Michelle Winery - Woodinville

Just didn’t enjoy the performance. Music was sleepy and all the classic regular songs didn’t sound at all like they used to. It was all a very flat experience for us. Won’t go again. Seemed like half the crowd left early for the same reason.

    Best Band Ever!!

by Summer series 2023 on 9/20/23Chateau Ste Michelle Winery - Woodinville

This was my 6th time seeing Counting Crows perform and they get better each time!! They put on an amazing show! After seeing them that many times, I didn’t expect to be surprised by anything - I was wrong…Their cover of T Swift’s The 1 was beautifully done, I still can’t believe how much I love their version of that song. They are a band I will happily pay to see for as long as I can.

    When kindness falls like rain

by Poor Mountaineer on 9/20/23Chateau Ste Michelle Winery - Woodinville

When my wife got COVID, we scrapped our double date plans and I took my 16 year old and his friends to the show. We biked in (as is our wont) and set up base on the lawn to the left of the stage near the front. We packed in cured meats, hard cheeses, apples, crackers, and nuts. I bought a bottle of wine. The show was everything I hoped for and more. The people we were sitting next to were true fans. We shared our food, wine, and weed and sang along, arm in arm, to the hit parade.

    Good music with good wine

by Relaxing show on 9/20/23Chateau Ste Michelle Winery - Woodinville

Having this show at the winery was great. Sitting in the lawn listening to classics while indulging in delicious wine. It made for a really nice and relaxing night.

I don't recognize any of this

by Are you sure this was Counting Crows? on 9/20/23Chateau Ste Michelle Winery - Woodinville

Not sure why Counting Crows decided to change the melody, tenor, and pace of all their songs but it was fairly distracting and took away from the excitement of seeing a band for the first time since the 90's. I fully appreciate the artistic freedom they have with their own catalog, I would have expected to know that in advance but it's on me to not expect consistency. Just a heads up for others. You may experience the Mandela Effect at this show.

    Sound was too quiet

by Tammy on 9/19/23Chateau Ste Michelle Winery - Woodinville

We were in the tall back chairs and we could not hear the concert for the first 5 songs. The sound quality was terrible the singer was drowned out by the music. They clearly figured it out but it would have been nice if they had figured it out she sooner.

Great Weather for an Outdoor Concert...

by K-spar on 9/19/23Chateau Ste Michelle Winery - Woodinville

Love the Counting Crowes and Dashboard Confessional and have seen CC several times. Felt the concert was a bit self-serving for them this time and they played some pretty obscure songs that didn't resonate with the crowd as well and saw some pretty early departures and many more during the one encore. The venue is OK but food and drink prices are over the top with a pizza and a coke costing me $32 while the glasses of wine or cocktails total over $20 each. I am more of a boutique beer drinker and I dislike that this venue totally ignores the beer and cider crowds and pushes their wines only. Nice outdoor venue that is small enough that you can see and hear the bands pretty well no matter where you end up setting up camp and the parking with the shuttles is an excellent alternative to the $30 on-site parking. For outdoor WA venues I have to go with the Gorge as #1 followed by Mary Moor Park, the Chateau, and White River Amphitheater. Would love to see the CC again but really would like to hear a better playlist and a bit longer concert for a band with such an impressive history of music.

    Terrible

by CP on 9/19/23Chateau Ste Michelle Winery - Woodinville

Honestly, this concert was terrible. They cannot sing anymore. It was like “spoken word” singing. Impossible to sing along to. Even Mr Jones was almost unrecognizable.

by Janell on 9/15/23Greek Theatre-U.C. Berkeley - Berkeley

I might be bias as the Counting Crows are my favorite band. They always deliver a great show and play the songs I want to hear. This is the first time I have been to the Greek Theater, it's a nice venue it looks like any seat would've been a good seat. Till next time Mr. Duritz and band I hope to see you again soon.

Counting Crows at the Greek Theater

by Leepofaith on 9/14/23Greek Theatre-U.C. Berkeley - Berkeley

Always great to see Counting Crows play locally back in Berkeley. Opening act Dashboard Confessional was terrific too. I had general admission on the lawn area with good views of the stage. Counting Crows played a lot of their hits and threw in some acoustic versions which I liked, and even a Taylor Swift cover of "The 1". Fun show!
