Bowling for Soup started life as a punk-pop outfit in 1994. The original line-up consisted of Jaret Reddick, Chris Burney, Erik Chandler and Gary Wiseman. However, it was 1997 before the band's popularity really grew. In 1998 they released their debut EP, Tell Me When To Whoa!, as well as their first album, Rock On Honourable Ones!!!. These landed them their first major record deal. It wasn't until 2000 that they released their first major album, Let's Do It For Johnny!. This was followed in 2002 by Drunk Enough To Dance. The single “Girl All The Bad Guys Want” received a Grammy nomination.
Further albums include Hangover You Don't Deserve in 2004, Goes to the Movies in 2005 and The Great Burrito Expedition in 2006. They released two albums in 2009: Sorry For The Partyin' and Merry Flippin' Christmas Vol 1. 2011 saw the release of Fishin' For Woos and the second volume of Merry Flippin' Christmas. The band released a collaborative album in 2012, One Big Happy, along with Patent Pending and the Dollyrots. Their 12th studio album, Lunch. Drunk. Love. was released in 2013. Bowling for Soup celebrated their 20th anniversary in 2014 with the recording of a covers album along with the re-recording of their Greatest Hits album.
Throughout their career, Bowling for Soup have toured extensively. During 2006 and 2007 they performed across the world in conjunction with Army of Freshmen. The band performed a number of acoustic shows as part of their 2010 tour. Their 2013 European tour was billed as a farewell visit to the continent.
Bowling for Soup have written music for two Disney productions. I Melt With You was featured on the movie Sky High and “Today is Gonna Be A Great Day” was the theme song for the Phineas and Ferb series. They also performed the theme song for Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius and wrote music for the film Max Keeble's Big Movie. During the band's history they have worked with various other songwriters and musicians. Jaret Reddick co-wrote and performed on Junior's single “She's So Amazing.” He also performed on MC Lars' single “Download This Song.” Lesley Roy sang on the band's single “Much More Beautiful Person.”
Throughout their career, Bowling for Soup have toured extensively, bringing crowds to capacity at Summit (Denver) and other similar venues all across the nation.
Such a fun show lit put on a great show and then bowling for soup were hilarious and great on stage
Bowling For Soup put on an excellent show, as well as the Dollyrots. Lit was ok, but they were very loud compared to the other acts and just seemed a bit off. We brought our kids and they absolutely loved the concert!
Bands were good, but venue, no so much! First you have to stand the entire time, because there are no seats. Secondly, the instrumentals were sound loud you could barely hear/understand the singers. Would not recommend this venue to anyone for any reason.
Amazing! Amazing! Amazing! I would attend this show everyday if that option existed!
Awesome night great bands had a wonderful time in Fort Lauderdale
Bowling for Soup and Lit Put on an amazing show, and Revolution live is a great venue
Awesome show, had a blast. Loved the way they interacted with the crowd, very funny and music was great of course !
It was my first time in the pit and I am so happy I got to see my favorite bands up close and personally
I've seen some great acts at Revolution (f/k/a Backstreet) and Saturday kept the tradition of "rocking the house"alive. Great acoustics, intimate venue (like a mini-Sportatorium). Lit! and BFS had really GREAT energy, the sound was spot-on and the crowd loved every minute. Super interaction with adoring fans. Affordable tickets were appreciated. Suggestions: skip the STD jokes and have more than one person selling merchandise. Really fun night, will definitely go again! These guys have a blast on the stage and their positive vibes were contagious. Great night out with the fam!
Kicking off the show, Authority Zero had stolen my heart! MEST did an amazing gender reveal and it was nothing short of spectacular. Bowling for Soup has had me in their grasp since 1994! I loved them then and still love them now. They say they're getting old but I don't see it!
We love Bowling for Soup and were excited to see them, but sitting through two different opening bands was rough, and then their show seemed short. Our tickets said 7, but the first opening didn't start til 8, and BFS didn't go on til after 10 and only played for an hour. But...we love the guys and they sounded great and their songs are so much fun!
I came to this concert to see bowling for soup, I had no clue who the other two were but after seeing Authority Zero and Mest perform I got to say they made the experience worth the while for the big wait to see BFS. From there performances, hard-core music, plus other surprises. I would say this was worth way more than what I paid for and I am glad I used a weekday on it!
Bowling for soup sounds exactly like the MP3 and CDs when I had them as a teenager. His voice is still the same. And the live shows are great! So much so we saw them 2days in a row!
The House of Blues is easy to get to, easy to park and a relatively intimate place to see Bowling for Soup. We upgraded and got into the club beforehand and the bartender was awesome! The music was great with the only drawback being we didn’t get home until 1:00 and I had to work the next morning!
oh my god- where do i begin!?! this was the best concert i’ve ever had the pleasure of going to- i loved every minute of it. From the kind, high energy audience to the AMAZING talent onstage, it was a perfect experience. tickets were cheap, merch is high quality, AND THEY PUT THEIR ALLLLLL, oh my god Authority Zero opened and they were so high energy, they were the best best best possible band to open, they got everyone so hyped!! Mest played and again everyone was hyped- we had a once in a lifetime experience ;). Bowling for soup- the final act- WAS SO AMAZING!!! they are so talented and funny, and they kept me so so engaged. i love their music and i was not disappointed with any of the bands in person!
Tons of talking about nothing interesting between songs so old tired and out of shape band can catch their breath and sing minimal amount of songs. Real bad show
Great venue, bad-a$$ sound and even more love for bands that I've listened to for years. BFS, Mest and Authority Zero...........just as good, if not better, seeing them live.
This show was a BLAST. I normally have less fun in such a crowded environment, but the opening acts and of course BOWLING FOR SOUP kept the energy levels cranked to 11.
The (Boise, Idaho) 'Knit' is a great medium sized venue. I've attended dozens of shows here. +Plus: Smaller venue and ability to get up close and personal with your bands. -Con: The acoustics are not very good (the closer you are to the stage). Re: We were in the very front line directly in the middle of the stage, knew all the songs, but based upon the set up, most of the lyrics were almost unrecognizable. *Note: this improves as you move farther back in the room (or reserve a VIP table above the action, which I've also done before; however if you want to reserve a table you should do so early, as they book quickly).
All 3 bands were a ton of fun! I'll definitely go to there next show in my area.
