About

Bowling for Soup started life as a punk-pop outfit in 1994. The original line-up consisted of Jaret Reddick, Chris Burney, Erik Chandler and Gary Wiseman. However, it was 1997 before the band's popularity really grew. In 1998 they released their debut EP, Tell Me When To Whoa!, as well as their first album, Rock On Honourable Ones!!!. These landed them their first major record deal. It wasn't until 2000 that they released their first major album, Let's Do It For Johnny!. This was followed in 2002 by Drunk Enough To Dance. The single “Girl All The Bad Guys Want” received a Grammy nomination.
Further albums include Hangover You Don't Deserve in 2004, Goes to the Movies in 2005 and The Great Burrito Expedition in 2006. They released two albums in 2009: Sorry For The Partyin' and Merry Flippin' Christmas Vol 1. 2011 saw the release of Fishin' For Woos and the second volume of Merry Flippin' Christmas. The band released a collaborative album in 2012, One Big Happy, along with Patent Pending and the Dollyrots. Their 12th studio album, Lunch. Drunk. Love. was released in 2013. Bowling for Soup celebrated their 20th anniversary in 2014 with the recording of a covers album along with the re-recording of their Greatest Hits album.
Throughout their career, Bowling for Soup have toured extensively. During 2006 and 2007 they performed across the world in conjunction with Army of Freshmen. The band performed a number of acoustic shows as part of their 2010 tour. Their 2013 European tour was billed as a farewell visit to the continent.
Bowling for Soup have written music for two Disney productions. I Melt With You was featured on the movie Sky High and “Today is Gonna Be A Great Day” was the theme song for the Phineas and Ferb series. They also performed the theme song for Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius and wrote music for the film Max Keeble's Big Movie. During the band's history they have worked with various other songwriters and musicians. Jaret Reddick co-wrote and performed on Junior's single “She's So Amazing.” He also performed on MC Lars' single “Download This Song.” Lesley Roy sang on the band's single “Much More Beautiful Person.”

Throughout their career, Bowling for Soup have toured extensively, bringing crowds to capacity at Summit (Denver) and other similar venues all across the nation.

    Bowling for Soup = Awesome

by Einsameseele on 11/22/09Diesel Club Lounge - Pittsburgh

Played all my favorite songs and then some. Diesel was a simple, yet nice place and the event was just awesome altogether. I can't wait to go back for another band and/or see BfS again.

    Awesome Show!

by BFSMNFAN on 11/20/09Station 4 - Saint Paul

I can't find anything bad to say about this show. The boys of BFS put on a great show. I love how they had the audience working with them throughout the show. These guys played for over an hour without a intermission. I also enjoyed how they would stop in the middle of a song, goof around and talk for a few minutes and then pick up right where they left off.

    BFS ROCKED!!!

by burton31 on 11/19/09Diesel Club Lounge - Pittsburgh

Show was amazing. It was my first time seeing one of my favorite bands, and they did not disappoint. They were musically very tight, and in great spirits. The set list had plenty of new stuff, as well as good tunes from prior discs. One of the best values I've gotten for my buck in a long time. Hooray for beer!!!!

    BFS Is Way Too Chatty

by BelowAverage on 11/18/09Station 4 - Saint Paul

Don't get me wrong, I truly appreciate the music of Bowling For Soup, but this was quite possibly the second worst show I have ever seen. There was way too much talking on stage. I understand that a little miscellaneous banter helps bring the crowd into the show, but stopping during almost every song to "chat" is too distracting. Not only was there talking during the songs, but the on stage conversations between songs fealt endless. After the fifth song we had lost interest due to the lack of music being played so we left the crowd and hung back by the bar. Even from there the banter was overwhelming. Now, endless stage banter aside, when the band did play they were great. Seriously. Great. They had a great sound, seemed to play pretty tight, and every one of their songs have the greatest hooks. How could you not like them...Hopefully the band reads this and cuts down on all the talking on stage.

    Talented and hilarious

by Flack on 11/18/09House of Blues Cleveland - Cleveland

These guys are solid musicians who write catchy lyrics and most importantly will keep you laughing the entire show. They definitely don't take themselves very seriously which makes them so much fun. I've seen them twice and I highly recommend their show and CDs.

    I loove these guys but......

by Souper on 11/17/09Station 4 - Saint Paul

I looove this band. Their energy, attitude, riffs, lyrics, etc. This was the third time I've seen them and also the worst. It wasn't bad, they tried to screw around and joke it up but had a unresponsive crowd and that's tough. But the show was really short (maybe 10 songs?) with one oncore, no shout out requests like usual, and just seemed more obligatory that fun. Sorry Soupers. I know they were heading to Michigan the next day, and have many shows daily with few breaks but in all honesty, was disappointed. Come back again soon guys, maybe with Army of Freshman again, (much better warm up band than this time), and start having that drunken fun again!!!

Bowling For Soup Should just stick to the music...

by lped on 11/15/09Station 4 - Saint Paul

The smallish crowd waited through two sadly uninteresting bands and a semi-cool highly literate rap group. The low point of the evening included the Green Man crowd diving into no crowd - he landed hard on the concrete but bounced back up to make a hasty exit. When the headliners finally took the stage, they spent more time chatting with each other (often in the midst of a song) than they did playing. The crowd noticibly thinned as they droned on and as we left many left with us...

    BFS rocks it out!

by Anonymous on 11/15/09Orpheum Theatre - Madison

BFS is always fun to see live! They have a great time at every show, usually cracking jokes in between songs. I have been a fan for 12 years now. I first saw them in Ft. Hood, TX and have seen about 6 shows now. They are a great group of guys, always willing to chat with fans after the show. If you want to see a fun punk rock band, I would recommend going to see BFS!!

It was awesome! I am 18 and I never gone to a concert before. That makes me a concert virgin. And bowling for soup is my first rock concert! and I did not regret doing it the first time with them. lol XD I came all the way across the world to see the band play. yes, literally. I flown through 13 time zones from my hometown to get to this concert and it was all worth it. I was having the best time of my life. Jaret and the band was funny like hell! I could not stop laughing throughout the night. To see the band play again, I would be a sucker to miss it I mean the can totally rock and blowing people's mind off and still be able to enjoying doing what they are doing. even though for hundreds of repeated time! These guys sang about their 'little guys' but people still do not call them an a-hole for that. It was awesome! A Bowling for Soup concert on friday night is a good clean fun. I was enthralled
