About

Bluesy singer/songwriter Bonnie Raitt has worked long and hard for her multiple Grammy Awards, hit singles and chart-topping records. Since her 1971 eponymous debut, the California-born performer and long-time activist has steadily maintained a music career, albeit with definite peaks and valleys. The red-headed songstress, one of the only women of her time to play guitar using the bottleneck technique, unleashed seven albums in just nine years, though her big commercial break came with her 10th studio set, 1989’s “Nick of Time.” That 11-track collection, produced by Don Was, earned three Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year.

Not only has the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer tackled multiple U.S. tours and international runs, but she’s also a frequent participant in events of social activism, such as Farm Aid and Amnesty International concerts.

Raitt’s 16th full-length album and most recent studio release, “Slipstream,” hit retailers in 2012. Not only did ticket sales for the support tour soar, but Raitt also landed the best-selling blues album of the year and took home the Grammy for Best Americana Album.

    GOAT

by golfmama on 10/9/23Massey Hall - Toronto

It was 50 years ago I first saw Bonnie Raitt (with Jackson Browne) at Massey Hall and many times in between. It's only better and better each time. Royal Wood was a big bonus. I'll savour this concert for a very long time. Unless the next tour....

My third time over the years

by Bruce on 10/9/23Massey Hall - Toronto

I wondered if Bonnie’s voice and energy would hold up. Shame on me. My other concerts were in Georgia and the crowds did not compare to the event at Massey Hall. The screaming standup welcome set Bonnie’s tone for a fabulous concert. Familiar hits, album cuts, songs she just felt like performing, a great band with a fabulous keyboard player from Winnipeg, Glenn Patscha. Bonnie’s voice was never better. She had the energy of half her age perhaps helped by 3000 people who were with her at every step. What a lovely person, musician, singer, performer and show woman. A concert to never forget.

    Disappointment

by Jason K on 10/9/23Massey Hall - Toronto

I was sold standing seats with no visible warning that that was what I was buying. And once we got to our "seats"(which were not cheap btw) we found that they offered a very poor vantage point and sound for the show. We left during the first song of the opening act. Those tickets should not be sold, and if they are there should be multiple warnings offered the buyer.

Undoubtedly one of the best concerts ever!

by Quinn on 10/4/23Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

Total class and exceptional performance. Ms. Raitt and her "band of brothers"had me enthralled, grooving, crying and laughing throughout the evening. Bonnie's engagement with us, completely impressive how tuned in she is to the group she's entertaining. Does her research into the local scene. What a lovely example of being a "Lady"! The only other thing I could say was to bring her back!

Concert Great - Some Fans not so

by JAKO on 10/3/23Burton Cummings Theatre - Winnipeg

People, when attending concerts, please do not enter your seats during a song. Wait until song is over like at a Jets game. Also, if you cant hold your liquor, and have to get up during the performance, dont drink so much.

And she closed with a Bruce Cockburn tune. Such respect for the Canadian musical artists. Good for Bonnie Rait.

    Just Like That

by MJ on 9/28/23Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

We were supposed to see Bonnie Raitt 3 years ago and it was canceled due to the Pandemic. Well she was most definitely worth the wait . She and her band were outstanding. Very welcoming and down to earth . Loved all the great things she had to say about Canada /Canadians . Royal Wood who opened was great as well .

    Bucket List Concert - Check!!

by AnAbbyFan on 9/10/23Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

We've been waiting to see Bonnie ever since she was booked to accompany James Taylor a few years ago. Her concert on Sept. 3 was truly worth the wait. A class act like no other, she rocked the joint, making us laugh and cry and get up and move. Yeah Bonnie! Keep on keeping on!

    SO glad we went!

    by KitKat on 9/7/23

Everything was wonderful about the show. First of course, was Bonnie Raitt. Being a fan for 45 years I just had to see her. Love that she came up North. Her ease on stage, rapport with the audience both kind and funny. Her voice was so pure and strong. The song choices were perfect. Little this little that. Angel from Montgomery and Just Like That amazing and my favorites. So much emotion. The venue was small and lovely. No cells at all, but a few security controlled. If your a fan and can, do it!

I was as blown away how great she still sounds. She still can belt her songs without a problem. She had a great band behind her also. She’s a legend.

    Outstanding Show

by A&B on 9/6/23Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

Superb performance by a music icon supported by a very talented band; a totally cohesive tight unit! They played a good selection of her hits from new to old without skipping a beat. A solid nearly two-hour show with Bonnie and a great 45 minute Roy Rogers warm-up act made for a splendid evening of song and music. The packed house was rooting, stomping and clapping at the end for more! No flashy set or costumes, the only set change was the addition of a stool and box for Bonnie’s feet…yes you can have the best concert without all the claptrap!!! Thanks, Bonnie! This is how a truly professional concert should be run from people who really know how to play music. They are true musical craftsmen compared to today’s singers and music makers! A down to earth show that highlighted each musician’s skills as she stepped back to allow them to shine.

Raitt and Sharp were great, crowd was rude

    by Jim on 7/15/23

I loved the music and show by the performers. I was disappointed by how inconsiderate and disrespectful many of the crowd were to the performers and fellow attendees. Seriously, people, how hard is it to be in your seats when the lights go down and not moving around during the music or to refrain from disturbing others with your phone?
