Alice in Chains in Concert
Five years after their original frontman, Layne Staley, died of a drug overdose, Alice in Chains made an unlikely return in 2007. Surviving band members Jerry Cantrell, Mike Inez, and Sean Kinney recruited frontman William DuVall to join the group, first for some well-received concerts, then to go on tour. Next came a new album, 2009's "Black Gives Way To Blue," which got glowing reviews, entered The Billboard 200 at No. 5, and led to more shows with fast-moving tickets. In 2013, the band released their second post-Staley album, this time reaching No. 2 on The Billboard 200. The only AIC album to chart higher was 1995's self-titled set -- the band's last with Staley -- which reached No. 1.
Alice in Chains' dark take on rock emerged from the same late '80s Seattle scene that also spawned fellow grunge acts Nirvana, Pearl Jam, and Soundgarden, among others. With Staley at the helm, the band recorded rock radio staples like "Rooster," "Heaven Beside You," "Got Me Wrong," and "Would?"Â The band has been nominated for eight Grammy Awards -- including two with DuVall on the mic -- but so far haven't won an award.
Hard rock legends Korn and Alice in Chains announced an epic co-headline amphitheater tour across North America in the summer of 2019. Underoath joins as special guest on all dates, with Ho99o9 and FEVER 333 opening on select dates.

Nay sayers can shushhh They delivered brought out the fan in me I left energized and ready for more. I would see them 1000 times and still love every single song and note.

by AIC Fan on 10/8/23This was my fifth time seeing this band live and each time has been a bit different. As a long time fan, I certainly understand and expect that they will be a bit different as people are a bit different each time you encounter them, but I have definitely seen a trend toward to the negative. I'm not sure if it is the sound board crew or if the band is fatigued from being on the road, but their sound went from good to great to marginal and their timing was often off. I hate to be critical because I ultimately enjoyed the show, but be prepared if you are used to album quality, that their live show performance may not be what you would expect. I hope they keep rocking it without getting too comfortable.

It was just one of those nights where the band was tight the volume was good and the set list couldn't have been much better...although I would have liked to have heard more tunes off of ''Black Gives way to Blue'' but all of the tunes that they chose to do off of DIRT and FACELIFT were great! I also love the House of Blues but I do really miss their old location on the sunset strip!

They go beyond to make sure everyone is having a great time and they always play their classics which is such a wonderful feeling. The vibe from the band is great because it feels like they ACTUALLY want to be there, not because they have to. Will bring going to see them again whenever I can. PS Ticketmaster/ Live Nation STILL suck!

by Gabbo on 10/6/23House of Blues Anaheim - AnaheimAlice in Chains put on a great show. Unfortunately the venue overbooked. It was very difficult to move! I've seen shows there before and it never seemed as crowded. I'll now think twice when seeing a show at the House of Blues Anaheim.

by J. t. on 9/24/23Saw these guys playing warmup for GNR in KC at Kaufman. IMO, they were the best show there! Played and sounded great giving the environment and compared to GNR! Hope they return soon to the KC area and play at a better environment. Kaufman just dont cut it for accustics.

by LB on 1/27/23Xfinity Center - MansfieldEven though it got very cold and it was a long day, it was so worth it. The opening act, Plush, was great. Bush killed it. Breaking Benjamin was okay, but Iâve never been into their music, so thatâs just me. Alice In Chains was phenomenal!! Theyâre my favorite band and never disappoint me. I saw them for the first time in August 2022 and this was my second time seeing them. I got to be right in front of my idol, Jerry Cantrell, and he blew me away. I was sad that AIC had to cut a song off the setlist due to time constraints, but their set was wonderful overall. Iâm hoping theyâll do a tour with just them and an opener in the future so they can have time to play more songs. I love how they donât put a bunch of stuff on the stage, itâs just them and the lights. They sound so great, are amazing performers, and I canât wait to continue going to see them.
