Alice in Chains in Concert
Five years after their original frontman, Layne Staley, died of a drug overdose, Alice in Chains made an unlikely return in 2007. Surviving band members Jerry Cantrell, Mike Inez, and Sean Kinney recruited frontman William DuVall to join the group, first for some well-received concerts, then to go on tour. Next came a new album, 2009's "Black Gives Way To Blue," which got glowing reviews, entered The Billboard 200 at No. 5, and led to more shows with fast-moving tickets. In 2013,Ā the band released their second post-Staley album, this time reaching No. 2 on The Billboard 200. The only AIC album to chart higher was 1995's self-titled set -- the band's last with Staley -- which reached No. 1.
Alice in Chains' dark take on rock emerged from the same late '80s Seattle scene that also spawned fellow grunge acts Nirvana, Pearl Jam, and Soundgarden, among others. With Staley at the helm, the band recorded rock radio staples like "Rooster," "Heaven Beside You," "Got Me Wrong," and "Would?"Ā The band has been nominated for eight Grammy Awards -- including two with DuVall on the mic -- but so far haven't won an award.

Excellent show!!!! Jerry, Sean, Mike, William, we love you always! Rock On!!! š©·š©·š©·š©· Las Vegas was amazing!
My wife and I love AIC and have seen them live several times. This time we brought our son with us, and AIC did NOT disappoint; they were amazing! Loved almost all the songs. My only wish was that they played more songs from the black gives way to blue album! The bakkt theatre at Planet Hollywood wasnāt the greatest venue, but it was certainly better than being at a festival or ampitheatre! Definitely took us back to our college days. Thank you AIC For being awesome!
My wife and I have seen AIC live several times and love them. This time around we decided to bring our 7 year old son to the concert. Heās seen Foo Fighters and Black Crowes already, so we thought this concert would be ok to take him to, and AIC didnāt disappoint, and our son had a blast! Bakkt theatre wasnāt the best venue, but itās better than a festival or Amphitheatre. Thanks AIC for being awesome as always!
Appsolultly an incredible show! Go see it. You wonāt be disappointed!! Only thing would be if they could play 3 hours!!
AIC @ Planet Hollywood, Bakkt Theater was absolutely fantastic! I did the meet and greet, photo with Cantrell and the boys, and what an epic experience! Iāve been a fan since Facelift dropped, seen them too many times to remember, and waited even longer to finally meet them. They were down to earth, personable, cool, signed an old set list I had, and just made my trip all the better. Thank you AIC! š¤š¼š¤š¼
The sound and Alice N Chains were spot on. The upper Balcony should be closed for every event here the lines were manageable. Still sucks there is only 1 bathroom each.
Did not disappoint, great show and can't wait to see these guys again!
The GSR had standing room in the Pit for this Concert. It was AMAZING !!! It's the only way to see this and all Hard Rock Shows.
I can't believe how much better they were in a smaller venue. I have seen them a few times and although I loved every concert I have been to, I thought something was missing. But this show was perfect !!!!!! So happy I made the trip to reno from the bay area, it was so worth it... Alice in Chains has been my favorite band for many years, and I can finally say that they still got it, even without Layne. But damn I do miss him being in the band. He have them an edge that they do lack with William Duval singing - he did a great job at this show....thank you Jerry Cantrell, for giving us a chance to see you shine, you are a master of your craft and we love you !!!!!!!
Alice in chains put on a killer show. All bangers played for the show. I would hesitate to see them again. And there opener Royal Thunder has a new fan. No hesitation in seening them again.
Probably the best rock show out there. Dont know who does it better.
AIC... One of a kind!! Long time fan since the 80's, took my son, he LOVED it too! Live music is always the best, I love the vibe of just being with the band! Bands like this deserve respect just because they're out there still killing it... and we get to be a part of it!! Thanks guys!! ā¤ Also, Vina Robles, Excellence Venue, lucky it's in my backyard.
I was lucky enough to see Alice and Chains on Sunday, October 9th in Reno. The band sounded awesome. All instruments and voices popped and all of their songs were played to perfection. A fantastic show that I am so thankful I was able to attend.
Loved the show, AIC is awesome, Royal Thunder pretty good also. I like these smaller venues, more personal! GSR is getting ready to expand , be nice but I like the small shop!
What an awesome venue to host this most awesome band! Reminds me of Alice In Chains in their early days playing at the Moore theatre in Seattle, gives you that āup closeā experience that you canāt get at a stadium concert.
These guys rocked the house again at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno. We go every year to see them and they never disappoint.
The boys did not disappoint, they brought it and the Reno crowd responded. So glad we went.
Alice In Chains was perfection! They were spot on as the last 10 times we've been to AIC Shows. Grand Sierra Casino has excellent acoustics.
Felt like I was back in Seattle in the 90's. Jerry's voice and guitar playing will live forever. Miss Layne but believe me William does him and himself proud. As I grow older I cherish these memories and encourage everyone to see your idols while you still can.
The set list was okay, the middle section was newer stuff which isnāt that good. Jerry was amazing! Wish they had pulled more songs from Dirt, Jar of Flies and SAP. Iāve seen them twice this year and both were good shows.
