The Theater was beautiful and small. The symphony quality was not Prince quality of a Orchestra. He would have never allowed this symphony to tour in his name. But with that said, I believe the audience was mostly made of a younger people and some 28-45 ages who wished they would have seen him in concert and some people that were around to see 57+ and wanted to hear him again in a concert environment. I brought a friend who has never seen Purple Rain, the movie but remembers the music and time and was up dancing. The mom that sat next to me was up and dancing to her delight of the sound and brought her 2 daughter’s 13&14 to share the music 🎶(they were embarrassed that mom was standing up and dancing. I leaned over and told them. “Don’t worry about mom enjoying herself. She brought you to this event to share some wonderful memories and a very talented artist. Your lucky girls to here it, even if you don’t know or realize how talented he was.” While standing in line for a beer. I talked to a young married couple about the the 2 times when I saw Prince in concert(The US Festival at the LA Colosseum where he was booed offstage and then The Purple Rain Tour, where the tickets said “Wear something Purple.”) They bought my beer for me because of the stories I told them about prince. While standing in line in the ladies room at the end of the concert. I asked how many people have seen prince in concert? And it was a long line, you know how ladies line is always long. Only one person said that they have seen Prince in concert and she had seen him 5 times. The age of the women in line went up to at least 65. So in the long run. If this tour brings Prince’s music to those who missed out or those who would love to hear him again in concert. Than it’s a successful tour. BUT!... I attended the Purple Rain Tour at the LA Forum, and nothing will compare!
Prince deserved the Academy Award that he won for his music . Thank you for a memorable night with Prince and symphony .🙏🏻
