Alt-country soul from the heart of Appalachia in Russell County, VA. 49 Winchester delivers the poetically straightforward songs of singer/guitarist Isaac Gibson in a soulful electric live show. Rock & roll with roots planted firmly in the traditions of mountain music. Since making their start in the months after high school in late 2013, the band has made a name for themselves as warriors of the road, self releasing three studio albums and commanding audiences far & wide.
“When you listen to Isaac Gibson’s evocative voice, it’s hard to imagine him in any other job. Not to say that he wouldn’t be a good actuary, but you realize that’s not where his real talent lies. His voice is filled with the ache that has fueled countless songs, and it was made to fill dark honky tonks where people want to dance. Beyond that, he has a way of telling a story that makes you pay attention to every word.”
- Glide Magazine
“In many ways, 49 Winchester, the nom de plume of singer/songwriter/guitarist Isaac Gibson, could be considered your stereotypical gruff and gritty homegrown troubadour. Over the course of the past six years, Gibson and his compatriots have made it a point to keep to the basics, be it a blazing combination of drive and defiance, or tears-in-their-beers balladry flush with seething emotion. That’s especially true on the band’s latest outing III, a confident collection that gives voice to the band’s pure, unfettered intents.”

Great show and they sounded terrific. Aaron was hysterical as the opener.
49 Winchester had a great performance at the Fillmore. They engaged w the audience and played most of their familiar tunes. We also loved the Fillmore… very clean and organized with ample bars to minimize wait times. Can’t wait to see them again! Hopefully they come back to the Fillmore.
One of the best concerts I’ve ever been to! Fans were nice, venue was superb, and band was phenomenal per usual— as was expected;) Will be back to Fillmore and will see 49 again (hopefully soon)
My husband is impossible to shop for when it comes to Christmas and birthdays. So, I've begun getting concert tickets to his favorites. He mentioned a few months ago how he'd like to go see 49 Winchester, so, I immediately googled it! So thankful to have found a show so close to home! He thoroughly enjoyed the show!
49 Winchester is at the top of the country Rock heap. Very professional performance and outstanding song writing. Each member has a special talent that makes up a must see concert.
No sure what happened to 49’s sound person, but the mix was really bad Tuesday night. The drums and guitars were mixed so loud that you couldn’t hear any of the lyrics. If you didn’t already know the words to the songs, would have had no clue what they were. Corb Lund- opening act sounded fine, so not sure what happened for 49. Issac Gibson did say he was having voice issues so maybe that’s why it was mixed that way. Love the band, hope it was just a fluke.
Great venue! It felt like we were lucky to be there. 49 Winchester surpassed all my expectations. They were outstanding.
I originally purchased tickets to see 49 Winchester for my husband's birthday. While I do know some songs, he is by far the bigger fan. However, my expectations were exceeded. They sound fantastic and put on a great show. The venue itself was great, and in a nice area in Philly.
This was just a terrible show - partly due to the band and partly due to the venue (The Ritz in Raleigh). The venue charged for the ticket, then $15 for parking, then $50 each just to go upstairs above the scrum and then had the gall to charg ANOTHER $50 to actually sit down upstairs! Add to that that the sound quality at the Ritz was appalling. We couldn't even make out the drums in the overall mush that was the sound. The band was just as bad. Isaac Gibson is obviously a very talented guy and he carried most of the show all on his own. The rest of the band seemed to be barely going through the motions. The bass player, Chase Chafin, was a joke. He never once set up a decent bass line in a song. In at lease 50% of each song he was not even playing with his left hand just dangling at his side! He seemed like the guy you played with during high school who you just didn't know how to tell that his time was up and he should go back to the farm. Overall, a terrible show. We left early and joined a steady stream of ppeople who were doing just the same. A real disappointment.
49 Winchester was great! Had heard that the Ritz was a very loud venue for whatever reason and we experienced first hand. Thanks to the staff for earplugs, otherwise our ears would still be ringing.
These guys, childhood friends from the holler burned down the house Saturday night! They did a great job of mixing their songs: slow then fast, older and new. The joy on their faces while playing together instills joy in their audiences. They are a blend of southern rock and country. Highly recommend these guys
49 Winchester was so much better than I was expecting. Their energy was electric, they sounded amazing, and the music was just awesome. The crowd was really into it, dancing and singing along and the venue was the perfect size. Would highly recommend seeing 49 Winchester, I know I will again whenever I get the opportunity.
The band themselves was fantastic and I loved it. However they didn’t even start performing until 2 hours after it was listed to start. When they did start the speakers were so loud that it made it less enjoyable. Several people were trying to signal to the band it was too loud and I even saw 10+ people have to put headphones in to make it bearable. I’m all for a loud concert but this was excessive and I couldn’t hear properly for 6 hours after. But the band was great.
49 Winchester was amazing live!! I will definitely see them again. They put on a great show!
The band sounded amazing and I loved the show! I brought a friend and created another 49 Winchester fan!
I love 49 Winchester, but I love them even more after the show. The performance was amazing! So much energy. It was such a great show in a great venue.
Fantastic show and I will definitely see them live again and again
One of the best concerts I’ve been to. No bad place to stand in the venue. Music was amazing and performance was unforgettable.
Another great show by 49 Winchester. These guys never disappoint. Go see in a smaller venue before it’s too late….you will be glad you did.
