About

Alt-country soul from the heart of Appalachia in Russell County, VA. 49 Winchester delivers the poetically straightforward songs of singer/guitarist Isaac Gibson in a soulful electric live show. Rock & roll with roots planted firmly in the traditions of mountain music. Since making their start in the months after high school in late 2013, the band has made a name for themselves as warriors of the road, self releasing three studio albums and commanding audiences far & wide.

“When you listen to Isaac Gibson’s evocative voice, it’s hard to imagine him in any other job. Not to say that he wouldn’t be a good actuary, but you realize that’s not where his real talent lies. His voice is filled with the ache that has fueled countless songs, and it was made to fill dark honky tonks where people want to dance. Beyond that, he has a way of telling a story that makes you pay attention to every word.”

 - Glide Magazine

“In many ways, 49 Winchester, the nom de plume of singer/songwriter/guitarist Isaac Gibson, could be considered your stereotypical gruff and gritty homegrown troubadour. Over the course of the past six years, Gibson and his compatriots have made it a point to keep to the basics, be it a blazing combination of drive and defiance, or tears-in-their-beers balladry flush with seething emotion. That’s especially true on the band’s latest outing III, a confident collection that gives voice to the band’s pure, unfettered intents.”

- American Songwriter

Amazing high energy band. What a show! It was hot, but they left it all out on the stage. You must experience this band once, worth every penny.

  • How was the concert

It was a great concert my wife and myself had a great time. We went with some friends and they really enjoyed it.

  • Awesome show

The show was great! Walker Montgomery was a high energy opener who set the stage for 49 Winchester. The set list was solid but I did miss a few of my favorite songs. HoB venue was perfect - not crowded and easy to see the stage from both levels.

  • Brought the house down

This group sounded AMAZING - and truly rocked it out. I would go see them again, hands down!

  • 49 Winchester Rocks

by Matt on 6/24/25Rating: 5 out of 5

I have seen them three times now. They are amazing, They opened up for Dwight Yokam at Salem VA. 49 was better than the Mavericks and Dwight. They are so classy. They hung out at the Merch and signed autographs until Dwight finished his show. They make me proud to be a Virginian. Cant wait to see them again!!!!

  • Just ok...

by Tedi on 5/26/25The Charleston Music Hall - CharlestonRating: 3 out of 5

Maybe it was the crowd, or maybe they weren't feeling good, but the show was low energy and pretty short. I was bummed cause I'd really enjoyed the last show of theirs I went to, but I probably wouldn't spend the money again. As far as the venue goes, it was my first time and I'd definitely come back-staff was super and sound was great on the floor.

  • Above the rest

by Bailey on 5/26/25The Charleston Music Hall - CharlestonRating: 5 out of 5

Crowd favorites backed up by the sing-a-long majority. Kept me dancing and smiling the entire event. All original music presented by high quality talent. My forth concert. There will be a fifth!

  • 49 Winchester did not disappoint.

The concert itself was awesome! The only thing I was unhappy with is a guy got kicked out who was by us for not allowing someone to take over our spots. We got there early to get the spots we wanted and a stranger said he would make sure we got to see and no one stood in front of us. A girl was complaining she couldn’t see and this particular guy offered her to come stand next to the gate that separates the crowd from the band but her boyfriend was super tall and would block our view so he told him no he couldn’t move up and they got into an argument. The guy who was there first got kicked out because he wasn’t backing down. Security never even asked any of us who was in the wrong.
