Yeah Willie and friends! Could have been organized better, and managed better. Lots and lots of dead air. They made it seem like it would be a different show for 2 nights but there was a lot of repetition- which wasn't great in my opinion.
The talent was great but being someone from the live show/event business, there was too much dead space between acts. There could have been more use of the stage to have the next act ready for introduction once the previous one ended. Also, the screens could have been utilized more with either live back stage interviews or some visual loops or picture loops instead of just a still image. The picture loops used on the structure did not execute very well. There was too much dead air in-between acts. I think there could have been some type of music that would have helped bridge the gaps. For the price of the tickets, I think the production end could have been better executed and more upscale.
Perfect venue and atmosphere. The lineup blew us away from the presenters to each and every artist. Just when I thought i couldn't take any more, another icon would appear. Willie singing "Happy Birthday to me", the young Highwaymen, Kris Kristofferson, I could go on. Thank you, Nelson Family and Hollywood Bowl for a once in a lifetime experience.
The Hollywood bowl is definitely a stop for concert go-ers. Such history and crisp to listen to the music. Willie Nelson had an amazing 2-day event which was awesome! Simple to walk to and from / and safe with such a crowd. (Way easier than driving!). There are steep walkways to the bathrooms so wear good shoes! I would totally attend another concert there!!! Amazing from start to finish. Excellent organization to have so many different artists performing one or two songs, and the stars introducing the musicians were a hoot! Top notch musicians. Loved the Hollywood Bowl. My favorite two nights of concerts ever!
I have been to hundreds of concerts including Willie and several of the other musicians and this two night event was the Most Remarkable show I have ever been a part of! The talent was off the charts. Lucky to be a part of it!
Such a great line up and opportunity to see people you would never be able to see together. They did a great job including people who needed some vocal support now. All pros outweighed the cons. Cons: The second night they had some repeats of songs (even by the same artist), I expected a "new show" each night considering they only sold two day tix. I think they flow could have been a little better, lots of waiting etc (the pace was that of people smoking together back stage). The Hollywood Bowl is a great venue, but set up so you have to funnel through one entrance and exit which creates quite the traffic jams. Not enough staff at the merch tables for the demand.
There was a surprising lack of detail about this event. I was truly excited for the line up. The show was billed as a two days but it was more like DĂ©jĂ vu as the night 2 was a repeat of night one with substitutions for performers who were at stage coach. It is fine to have tributes but I want to see beck play his best for Willie not oddly play a Willie Nelson song or have Jack Johnson sing and tell the same story twice especially for the price tag. That being said the Bowl is a great venue and there were some fantastic performances. Overall tho it was disappointing and the lack of information provided was staggering. It also failure the to have flow and the music was up and down without providing for much of a vibe.
Willie is a true artist's dream of who they want to become. Pure love flowing all around..
