WHITESNAKE IN CONCERT:

Legendary hard rock outfit Whitesnake has been inspiring serious headbanging for three decades, and they’re still electrifying audiences in 2015 with a refreshed and reloaded lineup for the Purple Tour. Ticket buyers can expect a thrilling experience when legendary frontman David Coverdale holds out the microphone for them to join in on mega hits like “Here I Go Again” and “Is This Love”. Guitarists Joel Hoekstra and Reb Beach back him up with plenty of fire power as they unleash insanely fast licks and pummeling power chords. Meanwhile, drummer Tommy Aldridge and bassist Michael Devin tie it all together with their smooth yet intricate grooves. Fans of classic hard rock showmanship won't want to miss Whitesnake as they continue to let it all hang out on tour.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Whitesnake was formed in Middlesbrough, England in 1978 by David Cloverdale, a British rocker who had previously fronted pioneering hard rock outfit Deep Purple. The band maintained solid record sales in their native England throughout the early ‘80s with hits like “Fool for Your Loving”, but label executive David Geffen suggested they might attract an American audience with a more commercially accessible sound. Whitesnake responded with their self-titled 1987 album, which contained the hits “Here I Go Again” and “Is This Love”. Both songs received heavy rotation on radio and MTV, eventually pushing album sales to 8 million copies. Though the band remained successful for the remainder of the decade, Coverdale announced an indefinite hiatus for Whitesnake in 1991. After some one-off shows and brief tours in the ‘90s, the band officially reformed in 2002 and went on to release the albums Good to Be Bad (2008) and Forevermore (2011). Coverdale and Whitesnake returned in 2015 with The Purple Album, which treated fans to a retrospective of his illustrious career with covers of some of his best songs from his Deep Purple days.

Great show, could have been longer

    by D. C. on 5/11/19The Paramount - Huntington

Five songs from the new album, which is actually pretty good, and nine of their hits. They sounded great and played the biggest of their hits. But the show was just under 1 1/2 hours. Adding a few of the omitted hits would have pushed the show closer to two hours, which would have been appropriate for the ticket price. Basically, I wanted and think the audience deserved a bit more bang for the buck.

Great concert full of energy. David Coverdale is a great preformer. Tommy Alridge was a monster on the drums.

    Loud and Rocking!

by Ree on 5/11/19The Paramount - Huntington

From the beginning when the warm up band The Black Moods started the show until the last song played by Whitesnake it was rockin. The Black Moods are an awesome up and coming band hope to see them again!! Whitesnake can still rock like it was 1982, with both new and old music.

    Among the greatest shows ever!

by Zuatvete on 5/10/19Hard Rock Live at The Event Center - Hollywood

Still one of the best Classic Rock bands around, first time that I saw them live and they were fantastic. Without an opening act the concert itself seem to feel going by too fast but no disappointment in any way. Saw plenty of other concerts at the Hard Rock Casino/Event Center, definitely a top notch audio set-up in that venue which brought DC & the Boys' talents come across outstandingly!!

Whitesnake: Last of the great hair metal bands!

by Junebug on 5/8/19Penn's Peak - Jim Thorpe

Excellent show at Penns Peak. Sound was fantastic and band was really tight. I had not seen Whitesnake before but knew their music well and have their '80 live album on vinyl. David Coverdale just keeps it going. He looked and sounded great, really like his voice hasn't aged at all. The guitar work (courtesy of Reb "life is a" Beach and Joel Hoekstrar) was outstanding, something you don't see in "alternative" or modern rock and on par with Priest. Then there was Tommy Aldrich - that guy played with Ozzy back in the '80's and he's still going strong, but the gray mop of hair was kind of scary. Would definitely see these guys again. They played several songs from new album, which I haven't heard in full. Sounds good, but wish I knew the new songs better. Also wish they had played one more song in the set, either Burn or Fool for you Loving, but overall it was a great show! Highly recommended for anyone into hard rock. Great to see these guys going strong.

Overall great concert. Was a bit disappointed with Whitesnake. Something seemed off. Not being an expert on sound, it appeared the mixture of vocals and instruments was off.

Probably the best 80’s band I’ve seen (other than Bon Jovi).

by Laceytracy on 5/8/19Penn's Peak - Jim Thorpe

The music was so tight! Obvious issues with Coverdale’s voice but it sounded great anyhow bc the back up singing carried it. Didn’t matter! The energy was there and it brought back great memories 🤘🤘

    WHITESNAKE/Penns Peak

by Jodi on 5/8/19Penn's Peak - Jim Thorpe

WHITESNAKE was an awesome concert, their opener was also very good! Waited a long time to see them, and they didn’t disappoint! The venue was also a great pick, easy entrance, parking, nice place, and on time😁👍🏻 Was pretty cool to be there with my 24 yr old daughter, whose always wanted to see DC, and myself, in my late forties♥️Definitely a night to remember

    excellent concert

by Stef on 5/8/19Penn's Peak - Jim Thorpe

David Coverdale's voice was as good as it was when I saw him in the 80's. My husband and I enjoyed seeing the concert in a small venue. We were able to stand up front to the right of the stage. The band was also great. We had a great time and would see him again if he returns to our area.

had fun.. good show, but short

by phil on 5/8/19Penn's Peak - Jim Thorpe

Not a big fan, but I liked it. Short, about 75 minutes. drum and guitar solos seemed to be unnecessary to me. They were interesting, but not really needed. I'd rather hear a few more songs. penns peak, as always, a good place to see a show around here. Can't complain about that place. Easy in and out, prices are reasonable, the place is clean.

Best day of rock-n-roll music ever on saturday!

by d. sturgill on 5/7/19Merriweather Post Pavilion - Columbia

9 bands in one day! This day will never be topped in my opinion. Every band was simply awesome. I'm still on a high and didn't drink or smoke a thing! And this is 3 days later. This was our first all day music fest and we are already looking forward to next year. It was a six hour drive for us but it will be a yearly trip for us from now on as long as m3 continues or we croak! My favorite was steven adlers band. The lead singer was better, yes better than axl rose! My wife enjoyed whitesnake the most. Thanks ticketmaster and m3!

    superb venue

by LRich on 5/7/19Hard Rock Live at The Event Center - Hollywood

Great experience, from every spot in the audience. Great sound and lighting. Coverdale's voice can't handle any high notes and so he leaves it to the other members or calls the audience to sing along. I can't believe they didn't play Guilty of Love and Fool for your loving...
