About

Best known for his powerful guitar licks, Joe Walsh has entertained the masses and captivated his peers for more than three decades with such classics as ā€œFunk #49,ā€ ā€œWalk Away,ā€ ā€œLifeā€™s Been Good,ā€ and ā€œOrdinary Average Guy.ā€ In 1969 Walsh found success with The James Gang, followed by a stint with Barnstorm, a trio he founded.Ā  In 1973 Joe released his first solo album, which proved him a legitimate solo act with a limitless career on the horizon. By 1975 he joined The Eagles, bringing a harder rock sound to the group with the acclaimed Hotel California, The Long Run and Eagles Live.

In 1994, after a 14-year hiatus and several solo albums, The Eagles released Hell Freezes Over, which reached #1 on the Billboard charts and sparked one of the most successful tours in music history. And in 1998 The Eagles were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the first year they were nominated. Walsh performed at the 2012 Grammyā€™s with Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen and Dave Grohl and at the 2012 MusiCares event honoring Paul McCartney. That June Walsh released Analog Man, his first solo album in 20 years, performing solo shows around the world to support it throughout that year. In 2013 the award winning The History of The Eagles showcased at Sundance, the two part authorized documentary, and in February it aired on Showtime. In conjunction with the April release onto DVD the Eagles began their extensive The History of The Eagles World Tour. On February 9 2014 Walsh was featured in several songs on the CBS Special The Night The Changed America: A Grammy Salute to The Beatles. In 2014 Walsh played select solo shows as well as with the Eagles on The History of The Eagles World Tour, with new dates continuing throughout 2015.Ā  In April 2015 Walsh performed with Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr for Starrā€™s Induction into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, later broadcast on HBO. In May 2015 Walsh joined Eddie Vedder and Pete Townsend for an All Star Celebration of The Whoā€™s music to benefit Teen Cancer America.

Fantastic concert showcasing Ohio musicians for a great cause! Congratulations to Joe Walsh and Vet said for putting together this event. The Breeders were not for my taste, but there was plenty of music to enjoy during the 5+ hour concert. My favorite was seeing and hearing the James Gang, a personal favorite: The Black Keys, and as always, Joe Walsh! Great to have Dave Grohl joining in with the artists . Definitely my favorite concert of the year and will look forward to VetsAid 2023.

    Show was good

by Elke on 11/16/22Nationwide Arena - Columbus

Sound was good, band setup was quick. The seats up in the top rows-areas like row N, sect 209-were ridiculously tight (and Iā€™m a small human). If youā€™re a taller/larger human, these are not the seats for you.

    Such an Amazing Charity Event

by Frank S on 11/16/22Nationwide Arena - Columbus

This event was well put together and the music was fantastic. Seeing Dave Grohl play with the James Gang was a once in a lifetime experience. The Black Keys crushed it, and Nine Inch Nails had nice little set as well. My only issue, and it's not really an issue, is that each band only got like 45 minutes to play. I get it. There's only so much time and space, so I'm not complaining. I just wanted longer sets.

    Great event

by BenG on 11/16/22Nationwide Arena - Columbus

I hope a portion of drinks and concessions revenues went to Vets ā€” it would take the sting out of their cost.

    James gang 0.2

by Kucker on 11/16/22Nationwide Arena - Columbus

I saw the James and your 1971 in Dayton Ohio I wanted to see this show because I might be the last opening band sucked they were a lot better bands in Dayton Ohio than those people James gang was great but the seats were horrible I sat the front row in the balcony my knees were almost in my chest airplane seats much more comfortable than the seats I was in by the way 10 more pounds I couldn't even sat in the seat had to get up after three songs in the James going and take a walk couldn't go sit down again I might not have been able to get out of the seat left after the James gang set would allowed to stay longer but there's no way in the world I can make at 11:30 or 12:00 I'm glad I went but kind of disappointed that that's how everything went

by Eric on 11/16/22Nationwide Arena - Columbus

I enjoyed the show. I went mainly for Nine Inch Nails but all bands were really good. Joe Walsh sounded better than I expected. A little more from Dave Grohl would have been nice.
