    Worth Seeing

by PickyGuy on 4/13/18Fox Cities PAC - Appleton

We saw the show on Broadway and were interested to see how good the touring company is in comparison. We were pleasantly surprised by the excellent performances of the tour group. The dancing hit the marks for grace, enticement, and athleticism, each where appropriate. The touring sets can't compete with the LED screens in NYC, but they did not disappoint. They were spectacular and set the moods from subtle to romantic to glorious.

If you love dance, you will love this show!

by PMM9 on 3/27/18Rochester Auditorium Theatre - Rochester

This was a very good show. The cast was fantastic. I did enjoy the show, but I did not love it. I am not a dance person, and An American in Paris is very much a dance show. I am glad that I went though, some of the acts were wonderful - real Broadway.

An American in Paris should have stayed there

by Joeax on 3/27/18Rochester Auditorium Theatre - Rochester

Thumbs down. Lead actor's singing was often flat. The dancing segments made me sleepy.

This show features amazing dancing, incredible sets, fun music, and not much of a plot line. All in all, it is worth seeing.

    An American in Paris

by Dancerforever75 on 3/23/18Rochester Auditorium Theatre - Rochester

This show was the most spectacular display of talent we ever had the experience to view. The dancing, singing, acting was unbelievable. We have gone to many musicals for many years. We enjoyed this show the most. The talent, especially the leading rolls, was just the best ever. Magee Maddox, the principal male dancer and singer has talent that far exceeds most dancers that we had the pleasure to watch. The female lead dancer and the lead disabled song writer was also fantastic . I highly recommend to everyone that has a chance to see this show, see it.

    Wonderful music and dancing

by redyes on 3/14/18Ohio Theatre - Columbus

Classic Gershwin music with amazing dancing. Acting and plot were so so. The venue was fine although seats on the far side of the theater should be listed as obstructed because a significant part of the stage is cut out

    Only 4 stars

by mudcreekgal on 3/14/18Ohio Theatre - Columbus

I must say, it was a good production. The only thing I had a problem with, (which is why I only gave 4 stars) is when Jerry said the "G D" word Why in the world that was put in the play I have no idea. I think Gene Kelly would be rolling in his grave right now. I thought it was disrespectful to the movie and the audience. Yes, it is said a lot, but come on, we need to take a stand sometime. I like wholesome plays without all the foul language! Why on earth it has to be added to everything, I will never understand. With that being said, I did enjoy the rest of the show. Thank you.

    beutiful scenery and costumes

    by 8182010 on 3/13/18Ohio Theatre - Columbus

if you like ballet and melancholy music you will like this. this show moved to slow for me due to the long ballet scenes. i like to tap my toes and have a tune caught in my head when i leave. this show did not do that for me. i thought the cast did a good job i liked the tap scene dedicated to new York city and the rockettes dance line.

    American in Paris

    by Conman3160 on 3/13/18Ohio Theatre - Columbus

The Ohio theatre always provides a good experience when watching any of it's Broadway shows for the season. American in Paris exceeds expectations in terms of choreography and the overall talent of the cast. However, if you are not a true fan of dance and ballet, this may not be the best show for you. The story is not the strongest and frankly the show is a bit long and drawn out. Additionally the songs are good but not enough to bring this show up from being what it is at it's core, a place to merely show off it's dancers.

Gershwin Lovers, You can’t miss this!!!

by GSampsup on 3/13/18Ohio Theatre - Columbus

I’m a jazz musician and I absolutely love the work of George Gershwin, which was the main reason I decided to come and see this musical. But WOW! It was everything I imagined and MORE! The pit jazz orchestra was insaaaane and so very talented. It was so hard to focus on just one aspect of this performance because everyone was giving it their best from start to finish. Unforgettable!
