About

Get ready for it Sydney!  BRING IT ON THE MUSICAL is set to premiere this August for strictly 2 weeks only!

Following a sold out debut season, and recent nomination for Best Production of a Musical (Green Room Awards), this high energy hit features an exciting fresh sound and explosive choreography with aerial stunts.

Sprinkled with sass and inspired by the hit film, BRING IT ON is a hilarious, universal story that is sure to be everything you hope for and nothing like you expect.

Uniting some of the freshest and funniest creative minds on Broadway, BRING IT ON features an original story by Tony Award winner, Jeff Whitty (Avenue Q), music and lyrics by Tony Award-winning composer, Lin-Manuel Miranda (In the Heights, Hamilton), music by Pulitzer- and Tony Award-winning composer, Tom Kitt (Next to Normal), lyrics by Broadway lyricist, Amanda Green (High Fidelity), and was nominated for the Tony Award for Best Musical.

Campbell is cheer-royalty at Truman High School and her senior year should prove the most cheertastic – she's been named captain of the squad! But, an unexpected redistricting has forced her to spend her final year of high school at the neighbouring hard-knock Jackson High School. Despite having the deck stacked against her, Campbell befriends the dance crew girls and, along with their headstrong and hardworking leader, Danielle, manages to form a powerhouse squad for the ultimate competition – the National Championships.

bring it on the musical was a snore!!!!!!!!

by 123dorame on 1/19/14Shubert Theater - New Haven

I felt like i was at a high school production, the acting and singing where nothing to write home about and the tricks were what you could see on any high school football field. The audience was full of pee-wee cheerleaders who never stopped cheering so you really couldn't hear the music very well. Unless you have a kid who is a young cheerleader (8 or younger) stay home and save your money, i wish i had!!!!!!

    A Waste of Money

by GMME on 1/18/14Shubert Theatre - New Haven

This show was awful. With exception to some impressive gymnastic moves the cast could not sing or act. $82 per ticket was not worth it since this was no better than a high school production. They are headed to Broadway, all I can say is don't bother to pack much, you won't be there too long.

by NyChristine7 on 10/8/12St. James Theater - New York

This show was wonderful! The stunts and tumbling were great! The actors were fantastic. I was super impressed with the ability of the singing and acting matched with the level of stunting. Overall this was such an entertaining show with a great plot and memorable & wonderful songs. It's a must see for all especially those in the cheer world!!

My daughter and I really enjoyed the show. I thought I would be bored but she wanted to go so bad that I gave in and bought tickets. Boy was I wrong!! The singing was great, the acting was great, the props were great, and the DPAC was amazing. I am so glad I went! It was well worth the money and I came straight home and bought tickets to go see Wicked! I can hardly wait!!!

Bring it On - Was Fierce, Fabulous and Fantastic

by JonseyNC on 4/27/12DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - Durham

I brought my 8 year old daughter with me and I was just as much in awe as she was with the strength of all the actors to flip, jump and tumble into awesome formations, The singing was hard core - every voice was unmatched. Great story - updated for the adults but still age appropriate.

Good review but with some reservations

by NCHometownGirl on 4/25/12DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - Durham

I took my eight year old niece to see Bring It On because she loves cheerleading and theater, so it seemed perfect. I noticed there were several other children of all ages in the audience as well. The story was great but several profane words were used, which I found regrettable. The musical would have been just as good without the profanity.

    Cheerleaders will love it!

by theforbesfamily on 4/24/12DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - Durham

Wasn't sure what to expect since Bring it On was originally a movie, but it was really good! The story line was changed a little but had some humor and lots of entertainment with the cheerleaders stunting and tumbling. The singing was really good too. Not sure if someone would enjoy that didn't understand the "cheer world" but for a mom and a daughter who does cheer for school and on a competition team, it was very entertaining!

    Funny & entertaining

by Anonymous on 4/23/12DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - Durham

This was a much better story line than what is described in the commercial. The humor, the voices, and the dancing/cheerleading stunts was incredible

Way better than I thought it would be!

by BettyBoop4622 on 4/23/12DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - Durham

My first thought was, this will be cheesy, but it was really good. It was really humorous, which was a complete and wonderful surprise. The singing was not spectactular; it was off key/pitchy sometimes, but way better than I could do and it had it's moments of greatness. The choreography was similiar to the singing, sometimes not great, sometimes really great. I really enjoyed how the picture screens would come down and tell parts of the story. I haven't seen that before. Overall, I am really gushing about how you have to see it to all my co-workers and friends.
