About

Get ready for it Sydney!  BRING IT ON THE MUSICAL is set to premiere this August for strictly 2 weeks only!

Following a sold out debut season, and recent nomination for Best Production of a Musical (Green Room Awards), this high energy hit features an exciting fresh sound and explosive choreography with aerial stunts.

Sprinkled with sass and inspired by the hit film, BRING IT ON is a hilarious, universal story that is sure to be everything you hope for and nothing like you expect.

Uniting some of the freshest and funniest creative minds on Broadway, BRING IT ON features an original story by Tony Award winner, Jeff Whitty (Avenue Q), music and lyrics by Tony Award-winning composer, Lin-Manuel Miranda (In the Heights, Hamilton), music by Pulitzer- and Tony Award-winning composer, Tom Kitt (Next to Normal), lyrics by Broadway lyricist, Amanda Green (High Fidelity), and was nominated for the Tony Award for Best Musical.

Campbell is cheer-royalty at Truman High School and her senior year should prove the most cheertastic – she's been named captain of the squad! But, an unexpected redistricting has forced her to spend her final year of high school at the neighbouring hard-knock Jackson High School. Despite having the deck stacked against her, Campbell befriends the dance crew girls and, along with their headstrong and hardworking leader, Danielle, manages to form a powerhouse squad for the ultimate competition – the National Championships.

These tickets won't last long - join the wait list and get first access to the best seats.

Show was very funny. Not for young children due to the language and a few sexual comments. Great stunts by the cast. Many of the characters outshined the main character "Campbell". Taylor Lauderman had the weakest voice of the cast, which was unexpected since she is the main character. Bridget played by Ryann Redmond was the star of this show. You would never know this was her first National Tour. This show is not just for tweens and females, there were many men in the audience laughing and enjoying the show. A great show for a girls night out or date night!

    Bring It On Brought It!

by clater on 4/22/12DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - Durham

It was a magical evening from walking in the door while greeted by bright red uniformed ushers to walking out the door being wished a good night by the same. Everyone was friendly and smiled which set the tone for a wonderful evening. Had my daughter not had a friend in the show, I would have skipped it thinking that it was just another story about rival cheerleader squads. How wrong I was! It was a story of faith and guts and friendship on many levels told through snappy dialogue and hum-along songs. Every actor was perfection and thoroughly embodied their character. The sets were minimal, but so very clever and effective. Great lighting and perfect audio further enhanced the talented players. I would definitely recommend this show to anyone wanting to have a great night of theater. My one complaint is that the venue chose to seat patrons after the show began. In my row. I had to stand while an adult female, her wine glass, and her three chicks struggled to get past me. If the theater chooses to seat late comers, at least wait until the play is between scenes. Better yet, wait until intermission. Perhaps, these latecomers will then be on time as was the other 99.5% of the audience.

    This show had it all!

by iscrap on 4/21/12DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - Durham

From Amazing stunts to quick quips, this high energy show really "Brought It"! We loved the touches of modern day high school in a very traditional plot line. "Bring It On" has something with which everyone could identify... I want to see it again!

Bring It On didn't bring it

by Lorinda12 on 4/21/12DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - Durham

I can sum up "Bring It On - The Musical" in one word...lackluster. From the story to the characters; from the songs to the singing/acting. And for 2 1/2 looooooooooong hours. I will give credit to the dancers and gymnasts though. They were extremely talented and gave high-energy performances. Although they seemed to always be performing the same choreography in every number (by no fault of theirs). Calling this show mediocre would be complimenting it way too much. And the audience matched that lackluster with their applause.

Fun modern musical (but lots of swearing)

by Betamom on 4/19/12DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - Durham

This was a fun show with big group numbers and lots of dancing. A good show to bring your teens to, with references to texting, FB, and more. However, if you have young kids or are sensitive to swearing, there are definitely a fair number of curse words in the show.

    Bring It On was... okay

by MusicalNazi on 4/19/12DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - Durham

My review may be a bit biased because I had gone to see this performance with fairly high expectations. Unfortunately, I found it lacking. I think perhaps the story just wasn't translated well, and everything felt very jumbled. I suppose I also expected more tumbling than what I was served. The lyrics were okay, but not great. The musical score was decent. The performers did a great job, overall, but in the end I still wasn't inspired to stay for the finale and ended up leaving 20 minutes early.

by nursekar on 3/7/12Des Moines Civic Center - Des Moines

"Bring it on" had a lot of comedy which was quite refreshing and unexpected. My daughter(15 years old) really enjoyed this show. It really was a fun show all the way through it. There is cussing in this production so follow the age guidelines before taking your children.

This was fantastic except I took my four year old and the language was a bit much. There are a lot of swear words and sexual enuendos.

This was a great show! Not as much cheerleading as I thought there would be, but a feel-good story and it was hilarious! I would definitely go again.
