About

Get ready for it Sydney!  BRING IT ON THE MUSICAL is set to premiere this August for strictly 2 weeks only!

Following a sold out debut season, and recent nomination for Best Production of a Musical (Green Room Awards), this high energy hit features an exciting fresh sound and explosive choreography with aerial stunts.

Sprinkled with sass and inspired by the hit film, BRING IT ON is a hilarious, universal story that is sure to be everything you hope for and nothing like you expect.

Uniting some of the freshest and funniest creative minds on Broadway, BRING IT ON features an original story by Tony Award winner, Jeff Whitty (Avenue Q), music and lyrics by Tony Award-winning composer, Lin-Manuel Miranda (In the Heights, Hamilton), music by Pulitzer- and Tony Award-winning composer, Tom Kitt (Next to Normal), lyrics by Broadway lyricist, Amanda Green (High Fidelity), and was nominated for the Tony Award for Best Musical.

Campbell is cheer-royalty at Truman High School and her senior year should prove the most cheertastic – she's been named captain of the squad! But, an unexpected redistricting has forced her to spend her final year of high school at the neighbouring hard-knock Jackson High School. Despite having the deck stacked against her, Campbell befriends the dance crew girls and, along with their headstrong and hardworking leader, Danielle, manages to form a powerhouse squad for the ultimate competition – the National Championships.

    Dumb show

I thought the story was lame, the singing was just OK. The cheerleading stunts were pretty impressive - could have been more of those.

Great singing, dancing and acrobatics - incredible

by MusicalFan8 on 3/4/12Civic Center - Des Moines

I've seen a lot of musicals, but "Bring It On: The Musical" is in a league of its own. Maybe it was the ridiculously amazing talent (the singing ability of Taylor Louderman who plays the lead, Campbell, is reason enough to at least give it a try, and the rest of the cast was equally phenomenal). Maybe it was the unique combination of singing (including rap and hip/hop), dancing, and acrobatics (seeing the performers do actual high-flying cheerleading moves without a single error - unreal). Regardless, one thing's for sure - you'll leave the building flying high on the energy the show provides. It's positive, fun for all ages (a little swearing here and there but nothing too terrible), and thoroughly entertaining. The talent of this crew is off the charts. It's one thing to be able to sing, but the acrobatics these people do every night in front of packed auditoriums - out of this world. GO SEE IT!

Bring it on, the musical was amazing!!

by shortcake2 on 3/4/12Des Moines Civic Center - Des Moines

This musical was full of excitement, dancing, singing cheer stunts, and even tumbling! As a competitive cheerleader myself, it was very impressive that EVERY stunt hit and was solid. They did some unique stunts but I wish they had more stunts and maybe a full routine to show what the sport the musical is based on is all about. The story line was similar to the Bring it on movies but had unexpected twists. The vocals of the cast were amazing and strong, this was well worth the 4 hour drive drive each way and the cost of the ticket!

    Oh, it's been BROUGHT!

by BigEdna on 3/3/12Des Moines Civic Center - Des Moines

Bring It On: the Musical was a delightful blend of classic musical themes and all the cattiness and acrobatics you expect from the Bring It On series. It is a worthy member of the Bring It On franchise. Creative use of props and backdrops. Fantastic costumes! Not child friendly, as there is some adult language and themes!

Bring It On certainly brought it on!

by CrazyAmy41 on 3/3/12Des Moines Civic Center - Des Moines

With a combination of wonderful music, exciting stunts, and talented acting, Bring It On was definitely an event worth attending. I would recommend it to anyone (Though perhaps not someone with very young children, as some of the jokes and the language were not really suitable for small ears.)

My 11 year old daughter and I really enjoyed this show. She is a gymnast and was really excited and impressed by the tumbling moves.
