MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET ON TOUR:

Hot on the heels of its Broadway run, rock and roll musical Million Dollar Quartet is on the road to tell the story of the fateful meeting between Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, and Johnny Cash at an impromptu jam session in December of 1956. The musical focuses on these newcomers before they became icons, gathered for a rare collaboration at Sun Studios in Memphis. The cast brilliantly portrays the original performers while playing each timeless track with perfection and ease. Million Dollar Quartet will have fans all shook up this summer with their red-hot 2014 tour dates.Ā

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Million Dollar Quartet tells the story of four Southern rock legends who unexpectedly came together in 1956 for a very spontaneous recording session at Sun Studios. Since its 2007 premiere, the electrifying production has graced theaters across the US, landing on Broadway in 2010 for an acclaimed year-long run. Nominated for three Tony Awards including Best Musical, Million Dollar Quartet transports audiences back in time to the golden age of rock and roll with an iconic collection of hits that will leave fans feeling like a million bucks.Ā

Great show but sound problems with bass distortion

by Big fan of this performance on 4/25/19Thalia Mara Hall - Jackson

My wife and I have attended this performance twice at New Stage Theater and this was our first time at Thalia Mara Hall. We love the show and the actors are top notch and give it their all to provide a great performance and entertaining time. The only problem with this performance at Thalia Mara Hall was that the bass was distorted and tended to take the attention away from the other instruments and made it where you couldn't hear the actor's voices very good at times. Highly recommend this to others.

    Music Legends

by W. on 4/23/19Thalia Mara Hall - Jackson

I am not sure that this is an improvement necessary at all venues...I could not hear the dialogue that was delivered while music was playing so I missed a lot. I thought the cast did an excellent job with their portrayal of the music legends.

    Outstanding!

by P on 4/23/19Thalia Mara Hall - Jackson

This was an outstanding production. The actors gave great interpretations of Elvis, Johnny, Carl, and Jerry Lee. Also Sam Phillips was believable. Last time I saw this musical Jerry Lee was the only on who fit the character. I'm ready to see it again!

    Awesome

by QB7 on 4/23/19Thalia Mara Hall - Jackson

The actors were fantastic as well as the music. From previous experience we picked a seat closer to the stage and had wonderful seats. I donā€™t think I sat still during the whole play. My foot was a tapping and I was quietly singing along. Once home I had to look up Sun Records to see what happened to it.

I enjoyed it immensely! Very talented cast!

    by C. S. on 4/3/19Shea's 710 Theatre - Buffalo

Great venue, talented cast and interesting story behind the music. Thereā€™s not a bad seat in the house. Couldnā€™t stop watching Jerry Lee Lewis to see what heā€™d pull next. Such a troublemaker!

Great songs performed by very talented actors/singers. Never a dull moment in the show. Wonderful to see in such a nice, intimate theatre. No need to go to Toronto or NYC for high quality entertainment.

    AMAZING!!

by Eloise on 3/27/19Shea's 710 Theatre - Buffalo

This show had it all. The talent on that stage was just amazing. I enjoyed every minute and am going again for the final show. Thank you, Musicalfare , for bringing this show back to be enjoyed all over again. I don't think that everyone realized that all the music is live...no prerecording. Great performances by all, especially Jerry Lee.

    Million Dollar Quartet 710 Theatre

by Dee on 3/26/19Shea's 710 Theatre - Buffalo

The performance was very good. The female singer's voice was fabulous. I saw Million Dollar Quartet several years ago at Shea's Theatre. My reason for a 4-star review and not a 5-star is because, although a very good performance, it was not as good as the performance at Shea's. And, the performer portraying Elvis was very good, but did not sound like Elvis.

    Greatest Ever

by Hank on 3/25/19Shea's 710 Theatre - Buffalo

We have seen this musical in a different venue and really liked it. This production however was the best one yet! The venue is fantastic for the patrons. It is comfortable and the acoustics are great. The cast in this production brought their best. It was very close to what I imagine the scene would have been in the actual situation. Arianne was fabulous. Her voice is outstanding.

    EXCELLENT

by Bob on 3/24/19Shea's 710 Theatre - Buffalo

The show was absolutely fantastic ... The music was from an era that I remember well and it brought back all of those wonderful memories ... Have to call out whomever played Jerry Lee Lewis for special recognition. The show made for an absolute great evening for my wife and myself. So much today is depressing - the Mission Dollar Quarter made me feel good!!!

Great way to beat the end-of-long-winter blahs

by Lizzy on 3/24/19Shea's 710 Theatre - Buffalo

Loved the music of my era, of course. I was very pleased with the musical talent of the actors, as well as their instruments. Had us all tapping our feet and swaying to the golden oldies. A really fine production. The "biggest" surprise was the actor who played Sam Philips, head of the studio. He didn't sing, but a commanding presence on the stage and held the story together extraordinarily well. And what a story it was. Very interesting to find out background of the biggest stars of the time, in a time before the internet tells you way more than you need....or want....to know. It ended at 9:15, but it was so uplifting and vibrant we couldn't get to sleep until 12:30. That's a compliment as well.

    Fantastic show

    by Dave Z. on 3/21/19Shea's 710 Theatre - Buffalo

This was the second time we've seen the Million Dollar Quartet and we were not disappointed. All the performers were back from our last show except for Elvis. Everyone was great. We especially loved Jerry Lee Lewis and Elvis's girlfriend. Her voice was phenomenal and probably the best of all. They were all great musicians. This show was memorable! We will see it again and I would recommend it to anyone. Really difficult to not keep your feet tapping and head bobbing.
