MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET ON TOUR:

Hot on the heels of its Broadway run, rock and roll musical Million Dollar Quartet is on the road to tell the story of the fateful meeting between Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, and Johnny Cash at an impromptu jam session in December of 1956. The musical focuses on these newcomers before they became icons, gathered for a rare collaboration at Sun Studios in Memphis. The cast brilliantly portrays the original performers while playing each timeless track with perfection and ease. Million Dollar Quartet will have fans all shook up this summer with their red-hot 2014 tour dates.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Million Dollar Quartet tells the story of four Southern rock legends who unexpectedly came together in 1956 for a very spontaneous recording session at Sun Studios. Since its 2007 premiere, the electrifying production has graced theaters across the US, landing on Broadway in 2010 for an acclaimed year-long run. Nominated for three Tony Awards including Best Musical, Million Dollar Quartet transports audiences back in time to the golden age of rock and roll with an iconic collection of hits that will leave fans feeling like a million bucks.

This show was amazing! The talent on stage was the best I have seen in quite a long time. I only wish I had been around to see the original musicians. I would see this show over & over !

    Rock and Roll History!

by jacvino on 10/28/11Rochester Auditorium Theatre - Rochester

It was so much fun revisiting the old songs. Had some great insight into how things were working in rock and roll's infancy. The finale was great. Only downside was I thought it wasn't very long. Would have enjoyed even more music.

Rochester's touring group was one of the best!

My only regret was I wanted to hear every song to completion. Excellent music, informative script, realistic impersonations. Chair dancing at it's finest!

Terrific show! Great balance between music and dialog; tremendous vocal performances all around; good song selection although I would have substituted one or two of my favorites for those selected.
