He stayed in the Lone Star State all through high school and went to college in Georgetown, Texas at Southwestern University. He had originally planned on getting a degree in education but ended up working as a DJ in Dallas. It was this job, which led him to try amateur stand-up nights that launched the beginnings of his comedy career. Engvall made the long-distance move to California in 1990 so he could seriously pursue a career in stand-up, and his first major break was co-hosting A Pair of Jokers with Rosie O'Donnell. He also made short appearances on The Golden Girls, The Tonight Show, An Evening at The Improv and The Late Show with David Letterman. By 1996, he had a contract with Warner Bros. and started his series of comedy albums, the first of which was title Here's Your Sign. This went on to become his signature line and a major part of all of his standup routines. He gained widespread notoriety as part of the 2000 Blue Collar Comedy Tour, which included big-name comedians Jeff Foxworthy, Ron White and Larry the Cable Guy. He went on to participate in the tour for six years, as well as star in three related films, the Blue Collar TV show and a satellite radio show. Fans can follow him on Twitter @billengvall
Clean comedy. Very funny as always!! Love Bill Engvall. He will be missed but hope he enjoys his retirement.
Bill Engval is just as funny as he is on TV. The event was well organized and great lighting.we could hear him clearly.
A great experience from beginning to end. We had great seats, the staff was friendly and helpful. Sound was very good as well. Bill put on a wonderful show; funny from beginning to end without profanity…just hilarious real life comedy.
Bill Engvall is one of the funniest guys out there. We were reduced to tears laughing all evening!
Ive never even heard of this guy, but my bf wanted tickets for his birthday so thats what i got him! To my surprise, Bill was great! He was hilarious from the get go!!! Show lasted about and hour and a half and that entire time was filled with laughs!!! Id recommend going to see him!!!!
very nice show not too many people very easy in and out
Bill Engvall's show was very funny. The venue of Circus Maximus was very nice. I needed a night of fun and laughter and Bill did not disappoint. Here's your sign!
He had no opening acts and I didn’t miss it. He did the whole hour and half show himself. He was absolutely hilarious.
Bill Engvall is as funny as ever. He put on a great show! I was not impressed with the venue. Bill put on a 5 star show but the room he performed in looked like it was a storage facility converted into an auditorium so I can only give 3 stars. It was so bad that he started making jokes about it. LOL
First time in French Lick for an event. People where slow to get in the door causing the show to start late. When the event was over people stood in the walk way and it was hard to get out of the building. We had an hour and a half trip one way to see the show. Thank you Bill Engvall for a great night of comedy.
Bill was excellent! We laughed so hard! We had great seats in the center of the 2nd row.
Hilarious show!! I was sorry to hear it's his farewell tour. Would definitely go again.
Great show by Bill, funny as always. Venue was good, small and personal. Glad to see Engvall on his farewell tour.
He was rhe funniest person I have seen in years. Great seats
We enjoyed Bill's act. He's a great storyteller. He started about ten to fifteen minutes late, but it was well worth the wait.
If you get a chance to catch his show duirng his Farewell/Retirement Tour, DO.NOT.MISS.IT!!!!
We loved seeing Bill Engvall! The venue was great, but the show was better. Bill's humor is amazing, relatable, and had us rolling. It's so refreshing to listen to clean comedy!
The Theater/Venue was the perfect size. I was about 7,8 rows back and he was very easy to see and hear. He put on a great show with stories and comedy that got everyone laughing. Highly recommend seeing him.
Bill Engvall is one of the funniest comedians I've seen in a number of years. He takes family and day-to-day situations and makes them hysterically funny. I laughed till I cried.
Great venue, awesome show if you missed tough luck
