Come From Away on Tour
The true story of the small town that welcomed the world.
Broadway's COME FROM AWAY has won Best Musical all across North America!
The New York Times Critics' Pick takes you into the heart of the remarkable true story of 7,000 stranded passengers and the small town in Newfoundland that welcomed them. Cultures clashed and nerves ran high, but uneasiness turned into trust, music soared into the night, and gratitude grew into enduring friendships.
Don't miss this breathtaking new musical written by Tony® nominees Irene Sankoff and David Hein, and helmed by this year's Tony-winning Best Director, Christopher Ashley. Newsweek cheers, "It takes you to a place you never want to leave!"
On 9/11, the world stopped. On 9/12, their stories moved us all.
A spirit lifting story of humanity rising to the occasion to take care of each other.
I have seen this tour severals times and love both the individual stories and music. So many forgotten people on 9/11, and this is a beautiful tribute to Gander.
We all loved the show, including my 18 year old grandson who had seen it before in London. Uplifting, well done!
Really loved this show! Lots of energy, beautiful harmony, and memorable scores all while still educational of what happened. My 22 year old daughter and her boyfriend came with me and not only loved it but also got a perspective of something they were not alive for. Totally worth it!
Music is wonderful & the story is amazing. I have enjoyed Come From Away twice.
The show was flawless, the actors were great! I'd love to see some older actors playing the roles, rather than younger actors playing the role of older actors but, they worked. I'd just like to see them using appropriate age actors. They did great for sure.
Come From Away it's a fast-paced, funny, uplifting and heartwarming show. You are reminded that there are selfless people in the world ready to help in a moment's notice. Don't miss this show!
great story from a book. The actors were exellent moving in and out of different characters. good for older kids that understand what 911 was. I wil see this again (from me that is saying a lot)
So much we didn't know! We learned, we laughed, and there were a few tears. The cast was amazing and they went from town people to plane passengers with ease. I like that there was no intermission, it made it seem a more powerful story. Would definitely see it again!
Come from Away was wonderfully done, but the experience was uncomfortable at best. My seat was in the upper balcony. I measured the distance between the back of the seat in front of me to the front edge of my seat….. it was 6 inches! There were no railings for the climb down to the aisle leading out of the theater. The lady in front of me fell backwards on to the steps. The play had to be paused in the middle because people not far from me were passing out and or vomiting probably because of the extremely cramped conditions. The theater gets a one star rating….. the play a 5 star!
This is such a great story and lesson for all of us. We are all humans- worthy of kindness and acceptance. Thi show demonstrates that doing the right thing, welcoming the stranger is rewarding and appreciated. At a time we witnessed the worst of what people can do- the goodness shines through. Also great music and acting!
I didint know what to expect going in, but it was wonderfully done. I had no idea that things like this happened during the NY emergency. Very good!
I have been already telling friends that they should see "Come From Away"! I enjoyed the staging, costume changes to reflect the different characters. The company does many of the musical numbers. The story is a a heartwarming memory of a tragic day in American history. The Orpheum was a great venue for a show. The lobby was beautiful but small. Parking was inexpensive and close. I will look for future events there.
I loved returning to this musical. The story is uplifting, told with humor and empathy, and the harmonies are wonderful and sung beautifully. Not to be missed.
Love this show. The seamless changes of characters, the brilliant use of the chairs, the staging, the singing, the story.. all top notch. This is a must see show for everyone.
I was getting ready for work in Wyoming when the planes struck. It brought back many emotions, but also joy at the stories.
Really enjoyed the show. What a labor of love the residents of the small town in Newfoundland that sheltered all the people displaced by the happenings on 9/11. The cast was wonderful, the musical numbers were spectacular, and the show really struck a cord about the good that is inherent in humanity.
Fantastic show & performances! Such a moving depiction of one “small” aspect/aftermath of the tragic 9/11 terrorist attacks. So glad I finally got to experience with a live audience.
Awesome is the word I would use to describe this musical!! The music, the choreography, the whole production was flawless!! I didn’t know what to expect, knowing the show was about 9-11. But everything was handled with grace and respect. There was comedy and lightheartedness as well. A brilliant production that I would wholeheartedly recommend!!
This was the 2nd time to see this. It will definitely not be the last. I experienced all sorts of emotions and left with a feeling of hope. The music and harmonies…phenomenal!!
