    Must See this Summer!

by MonicaMQ on 6/18/18McKelligon Canyon Theatre - El Paso

I loved the show! El Paso has lots of talent—great singing, acting and dancing!! The male lead was my favorite, he sings beautifully. The Veracruz wedding was very festive. Mariachis were great but I’d like for them to be louder in certain scenes. This show makes me proud to be from El Paso! Bravo Viva!!

    I love Viva!!

by Jones1397 on 6/18/18McKelligon Canyon Theatre - El Paso

I do miss the family connections from the old script but I do love the new WWII scene and the Don Haskins scene. I also love the shout out to the veterans, that is a great touch. As always the singing and dancing were great and it was just a wonderful show all the way around. My only suggestion is mic'ing up the mariachis. You can barely hear them and they are crucial to the show. Otherwise, everything was great, love, love, LOVE it!! Going back this weekend.

    Lackluster Performance

by RomanMpire on 6/18/18McKelligon Canyon Theatre - El Paso

Dancers were off beat and were obviously out of sync the entire night. This show no longer truly portrays the history of El Paso. Sound was horrible, one singer was off key the entire song. Felt like we were watching community theater. Our entire group could not wait until it was over as we lost interest 10 minutes into it. Sadly, this show needs to go. Please bring back the original show!

    Sound problem

by Burrows on 7/31/17McKelligon Canyon Theatre - El Paso

It was a very enjoyable show, but I believe it was one of the first of the season and the sound was difficult to hear.

This is a show that all families should see and recommend to all friends. Good place and well done performed, lights, music and scenography are very good and the whole dancers group offer to the public a play to remember and recommend to all friends.

    Thoroughly enjoyable evening!

Choreography and costumes outstanding. Relaying historical events was well done! Interest was held during the entire evening.

Viva El Paso could have more vida and audio!

by UMPH22 on 7/3/17McKelligon Canyon Theatre - El Paso

What happened! I recall when viva was wonderful and worth the price. I was disappointed and bit embarrassed. Brought friends from San Antonio and Austin, and I bragged about what it used to be 10 years ago. The audio was poor, the story line was hard to follow, and really lights on the earth's elements costumes- Nah, sometimes things are better left as they once were- the original costumes. I would not pay the price to go see this again- ever. Comparing El Paso to other Texas city performances, El Paso has the talent, but what is lacking? Why can't they put a good show with good sound, lighting, and performances?

    Good show for the family

by Loosy on 6/29/17McKelligon Canyon Theatre - El Paso

the show was really nice unfortunately we were not able to hear some of the performers because either their mic was off or not working and it started raining after intermission and were not refunded. Took family from out of town to see the show and they were disappointed they were not able to finish watching the entire show.

Great show but average performers at best. Needs better sound equipment and was missing that special something that makes it outstanding.

Cute show, but terrible sound issues

by Dwaneana on 6/20/17McKelligon Canyon Theatre - El Paso

Viva El Paso was a cute show with energetic singing and dancing. It dragged a bit in parts, but the performers kept things moving along. Biggest problem was the sound. Something was wrong with the sound for many of the performers, and their mikes didn't work. It was hard to hear probably 30 percent of the show. Hopefully this problem gets fixed.

    Spark of life in Viva

by Xrey on 6/20/17McKelligon Canyon Theatre - El Paso

Last year's production of Viva was horrible! This year's productions shows promise and made many improvements. The biggest problem seemed to be with the sound system. Also, there is still some work that needs to be done with the chronological order of the production. i.e. When you introduce the mestizo, do not go back to the Spanish dancers, bring back the charro on the mountain! Overall, the performance was nice and is a beautiful representation of our history and culture. Well done!

    A little rough

by Beesber on 6/20/17McKelligon Canyon Theatre - El Paso

The show was in its opening weekend, so I'm sure the glitches will get better. The sound was just awful, mics failed and the speakers were super loud when they worked. There were a lot of missed cues, and the acting was pretty stiff, especially the elements of nature.

Viva El Paso was not so lively

by Hino1994 on 6/19/17McKelligon Canyon Theatre - El Paso

Besides the main characters and especially la abuela. Actung could be better. Lines forgotten. The sound system kept cutting out.

    Disappointed

by Mujeres on 6/19/17McKelligon Canyon Theatre - El Paso

I was very disappointed in the quality of the (most of) dancers and some of the actors. I had been to previous productions and this one did not rate up to par. The folklorico dancers seemed to have the most professional dancers.

Being to new to El Paso, this was our first experience in a community event. We thought the show was great and would recommend it to others.
