About

Oregon Ducks Football at Autzen Stadium

The Oregon Ducks have a storied and unique heritage as one of the premier programs in the nation, appearing in national title games in 2010 and 2014, and being a consistent presence in the national title hunt. Mario Cristobal is in his second full season coaching the Ducks, and previously led the FIU Panthers from 2007 to 2012 before stints as an assistant under Nick Saban at Alabama and Willie Taggart at Oregon. Oregon is part of the North Division of the Pac-12 Conference, where they've won four division titles and seven Pac-12 titles, in addition to four conference titles when they were part of the Pacific Coast Conference and a combined three Rose Bowl victories: in 1917, 2012 and 2015. The Ducks play at Autzen Stadium in Eugene, Oregon, which opened in 1967 and has a current capacity of 54,000.

History of Oregon Ducks Football

The University of Oregon first fielded a football team in 1894. From the 1920s to the ‘60s, Oregon's athletic teams were officially known as the Webfoots, but the name "Ducks" was used interchangeably, with a version of Donald Duck approved by Walt Disney eventually becoming Oregon's official mascot. The Oregon Ducks have a rich tradition of star quarterbacks, including Pro Football Hall of Famers Norm Van Brocklin and Dan Fouts, and 2014 Heisman Trophy winner Marcus Mariota, and is also the proud alma mater of such NFL legends as Haloti Ngata, Ahmad Rashād, Mel Renfro and Gary Zimmerman.

In addition to its regular opponents in the Pac-12 North, the Oregon Ducks have two main rivals: the Oregon State Beavers and the Washington Huskies. In a rivalry that dates back to 1894, Oregon and Oregon State finish their regular season with the Civil War. The 1983 contest, which involved terrible weather and sloppy play for all involved, was dubbed the "Toilet Bowl" and is the last scoreless tie to date in FBS history. The Oregon/Washington rivalry dates to 1900, but intensified in the ‘90s with the rise of Oregon's program under Rich Brooks and Mike Bellotti. In 2018, Oregon upset No. 7 Washington in overtime and defeated Oregon State 55-15 on its way to a victory over Michigan State in the Redbox Bowl.

    Disappointed

by Fan on 11/2/21Autzen Stadium - Eugene

Too many drunks! Too bad these people can't grow up just a little bit. Young kids trying to have fun in the middle of all the cussing, yelling, drinking, and fighting. At least try to act like adults in public. Really sad - just kind of typical for Oregon folks. Not sure what has them all so angry, but they sure are ...

    Friendlyish Fans, Great Seats

by AL AL on 10/19/21Autzen Stadium - Eugene

Had a really good time at the game as an opposing fan. People around me weren't too obnoxious about wearing the opposition team's colors. Somehow were blessed with stadium cushioned seating which was pretty nice. Beer and food is really pricy so prep for that. Overall a good time but should have done a bit more research to sit in the Cal section with same fans.

    Cool game day experience

by Visting fan on 10/18/21Autzen Stadium - Eugene

Great venue, fun fans and game day experience. Lots of energy, cool traditions, one of the better college day experiences I have seen. Got Tickets on the 50 yard line, pretty in expensively due to some fans still not traveling, well worth it.

About a third of the stadium was unmasked.

by Disappointed Duck on 9/28/21Autzen Stadium - Eugene

No more football games in person for me. It appeared that greater than 30% of the student section weren’t wearing masks.

    Ducks vs Seawolves.

by Biermonie on 9/21/21Autzen Stadium - Eugene

Buying tickets through Ticketmaster was a piece of cake. Seat selection was very easy to identify in price. Game itself was excellent although we got soaked in a downpour. Ducks won.

    Bees.. so many bees.

by ShielaSH on 9/7/21Autzen Stadium - Eugene

We (and many others) spent half the game swatting and dodging bees and wasps. Don’t purchase tickets to this stadium anywhere near the top of exposed sections.

    Fun time

by Ed on 9/7/21Autzen Stadium - Eugene

Arrived at the stadium and started our new adventure. Met a lot of great people that were there to see the Oregon Ducks 1st game of the season! Our seats were spectacular and the people around us were super fans making it even more fun. The stadium new screen was epic! Huge and clear as day! Will be back soon to see the Ducks make their way to play offs!

    Not their best

by Lance on 9/7/21Autzen Stadium - Eugene

No where near enough food/drink vendors open. 2 on the entire North side, 4 on the South and one on East. Lines were quarters long. The lady in front of us left in the middle of the first quarter, came back during the third quarter saying she just gave up. If you don't have the staff to serve this many people - don't let them into the game. The lines from the North End concessions stretched all the way down the ramps to the East and West ends... it was sad. Go Ducks

    Fun but poor service

by Houston duck on 9/7/21Autzen Stadium - Eugene

Great seats on the club level but the concessions was woefully understaffed. Waited in line for over 30 minutes and just before we got to the front they stopped selling beer as halftime had just ended. Really poor planning by the staff.
