About

Oregon Ducks Football at Autzen Stadium

The Oregon Ducks have a storied and unique heritage as one of the premier programs in the nation, appearing in national title games in 2010 and 2014, and being a consistent presence in the national title hunt. Mario Cristobal is in his second full season coaching the Ducks, and previously led the FIU Panthers from 2007 to 2012 before stints as an assistant under Nick Saban at Alabama and Willie Taggart at Oregon. Oregon is part of the North Division of the Pac-12 Conference, where they've won four division titles and seven Pac-12 titles, in addition to four conference titles when they were part of the Pacific Coast Conference and a combined three Rose Bowl victories: in 1917, 2012 and 2015. The Ducks play at Autzen Stadium in Eugene, Oregon, which opened in 1967 and has a current capacity of 54,000.

History of Oregon Ducks Football

The University of Oregon first fielded a football team in 1894. From the 1920s to the ‘60s, Oregon's athletic teams were officially known as the Webfoots, but the name "Ducks" was used interchangeably, with a version of Donald Duck approved by Walt Disney eventually becoming Oregon's official mascot. The Oregon Ducks have a rich tradition of star quarterbacks, including Pro Football Hall of Famers Norm Van Brocklin and Dan Fouts, and 2014 Heisman Trophy winner Marcus Mariota, and is also the proud alma mater of such NFL legends as Haloti Ngata, Ahmad Rashād, Mel Renfro and Gary Zimmerman.

In addition to its regular opponents in the Pac-12 North, the Oregon Ducks have two main rivals: the Oregon State Beavers and the Washington Huskies. In a rivalry that dates back to 1894, Oregon and Oregon State finish their regular season with the Civil War. The 1983 contest, which involved terrible weather and sloppy play for all involved, was dubbed the "Toilet Bowl" and is the last scoreless tie to date in FBS history. The Oregon/Washington rivalry dates to 1900, but intensified in the ‘90s with the rise of Oregon's program under Rich Brooks and Mike Bellotti. In 2018, Oregon upset No. 7 Washington in overtime and defeated Oregon State 55-15 on its way to a victory over Michigan State in the Redbox Bowl.

    First time to Autzen Stadium

by VolsDuckfan on 11/15/22Autzen Stadium - Eugene

I am a Tennessee Vols fan that fell in love with the Oregon Ducks in September 2010, so I finally made it out here to see my first Ducks game. Great environment enjoyed meeting new people and other than questionable coaching decisions it was a good game. They do need to get a better sound system because you couldn't understand the refs at times due to the echoes. I will be back this coming Saturday, Go Ducks!!!!

Be sure to arrive several hours early to find parking. Best to shuttle, over all the stadium is clean and easy to get into.

    Amazing experience!

    by M. P. R. on 10/5/22

The last time I was in Autzen Stadium prior to the Stanford game on Oct 2nd 2022 was for my graduation in 1989…so I was REALLY excited to come back and cheer on the Ducks! It was simply wonderful to experience this beautiful evening with my daughter and while surrounded by students and entire families. Awesome atmosphere, easy to purchase tickets through the app, wonderful cheering and festivities. I really enjoyed that in addition to the game, so much positive energy was dispersed from acknowledging veterans to cancer patients to student athletes! It was also icing on the cake that the Ducks won big time!! I’m so proud to be a Duck! Can’t wait to come back!

    football game Autzen Stadium

by doctor par on 10/4/22Autzen Stadium - Eugene

easy to use iPhone ticket procedure. Compared to my old college and after football memories at the U.S.C. games back in the 60's, the games now are like a giant party, never ending entertainment. The Autzen stadium is jam packed and amazingly loud for the number of people - which was sold out. The enthusiasm of the students and basically everyone there was incredible to witness. Had a great time. Oregon beat Stanford fairly easily but everyone had fun for sure.

    Oregon ducks decimated BYU

by Brandigraceful on 9/20/22Autzen Stadium - Eugene

For last minute tickets we got pretty good seats and it ended up being a helluva game. Oregon was kicking serious ass most of it. End of 3rd and during 4th BYU managed to get a couple touchdowns in but it was too Little, too late by that pointm

    Religious hate/foul mouthed student section

by AR on 9/20/22Autzen Stadium - Eugene

It's difficult to articulate my disgust with the students in the student section who were making hateful and obscene religious chants during the game. Although I realize they do not represent the the entirety of the University, and I appreciate the apology that has been made, still it left a very negative impression. Those students should be reprimanded. Seems like they need to learn that behavior has consequences. Although there were other Oregon fans that were welcoming and the stadium is beautiful, still I have no desire to return, nor would I recommend sending any student there.

    Poor

by Mark on 9/20/22Autzen Stadium - Eugene

We left the game early as students started yelling anti BYU remarks. Sitting in the student section was a bad idea

    by P. H. on 9/13/22Autzen Stadium - Eugene

We had a good view from our seats. We got to the stadium early and were able to see some pre-game activities we had not seen before. It was fun to watch our team win their first home game.

    Duck vs beavers 2021

by Becca on 11/30/21Autzen Stadium - Eugene

It was amazing. The ticket process was so simple and on my phone for easy access. Although I wish I would have known that tickets would gone on sale for 75% less than the price I paid I would have waited instead of spending 260$ on two tickets that the seats were way far away. Good game tho ducks won yay

    Exchange policy

by From AK on 11/30/21Autzen Stadium - Eugene

I bought tickets in September for the Thanksgiving weekend UofO vs O State game as a gift for my sister. Turns out my daughters and I were able to join her and she was thrilled. We wanted to sit together so, several weeks before the game, I tried to contact Ticketmaster to help me get five, similarly-priced seats together. I couldn't reach a person and the site offered only the option to sell the first two tickets and buy five more. Ouch! The sale of the first two tickets didn't happen so I tried to lower the price days before the event. The site gave an error message and a Ticketmaster agent was unreachable. The tickets didn't sell, and I'm stuck for about $500. When I first bought the tickets, an agent was available and very helpful. Toward the event, when life happens and situations change, that's when an agent was needed. I get covid has slowed things down, but I'm fatiguing of "understaffing" being an overused excuse for poor service, especially after I've already been charged. An exchange from two to five tickets should be welcomed! ...and customer service should be immediate towards the event. We had a great time at the game but, once home and reflecting on the cost of the event, I'm not likely to repeat it and I'm not a fan of Ticketmaster.

    Autzen Rocks!

by emilyk on 11/16/21Autzen Stadium - Eugene

Always an awesome time at Autzen! The one thing I miss is the way the light shows used to be. People were unable to download the app in the stadium and those of us with it already couldn't get it to connect. Not enough service with everyone using it at the same time. Everything else was great as usual
