Seattle Sounders FC History
The Seattle Sounders joined MLS in 2009 and quickly built a Western Conference powerhouse, winning four U.S. Open Cups, one Supporters' Shield (2014), and two MLS Cup Championships in 2016 and 2019.
Jordan Morris was named the 2019 MLS Comeback Player of the Year after recovering from a torn ACL that sidelined him for nearly all of 2018. In 2019, the Sounders earned the No. 2 seed in the MLS Western Conference and qualified for the MLS Cup Playoffs for the 11th straight season. In 2021, the Sounders became the first MLS club to advance to the finals match of the annual North American Leagues Cup tournament, and in 2022, the team won the interleague CONCACAF Champions Cup.

The Sounders play their home games before a 41,000-capacity crowd on the Emerald Queen Casino Pitch at Lumen Field in downtown Seattle, also the home of the NFL's Seattle Seahawks. When attending a Seattle Sounders game, you can hear thousands of fans from the Emerald City Supporters group chanting "Seattle Sounders, here we go!" to the tune of The Beatles' "Yellow Submarine" at one end of Lumen Field. At the other end of the stadium, thousands of fans from The North End Faithful sing atop the thundering beat of the in-stadium Sound Wave Marching Band.

Seattle Sounders FC’s 2024 regular season kicks off in February at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles, California, when the Sounders face off against Los Angeles FC. Seattle hosts their home opener against Austin FC on March 2. The Sounders play their final match of the regular season at home against Western Conference rivals the Portland Timbers. by Savannah on 9/13/22Lumen Field - SeattleThe soccer game itself was fine but the fans made it very uncomfortable for Austin’s fans like us. They were saying just mean things and cussing the entire time. Their songs are very offensive taking about Abortion and how is that relevant to soccer. The fans are in Seattle are some of the trashiest people by far. I’ve gone to many stadiums and states they were respectful. I’m made that I wasted my time and money. We left at 60 minutes because we couldn’t take it anymore. I don’t recommend sitting where I was because you can’t see the game or hear what is going on. All you’ll see is BLM, transgender flag, and more anti-cops fans there. The worse experience ever!!

Seems the center section was seated, the two sides stood the whole time. I don't know if this is something that the locals know or if it depends on who happens to be in the stands that night, but it was not my cup of tea. And of course if everyone in front of you is standing you don't really have a choice, if you want to see the game.
