Exciting hockey action at the NCAA men's hockey regional in Providence, R.I. Although its team lost in the semifinal, Michigan Tech had a great showing of fans who never lost their enthusiasm. Only downside of the event for me was the P.A. announcer who felt it necessary to scream each announcement.
GOOD EVENT.......NO NEED FOR MOBILE ONLY TICKETS.....LAST PERSON TO GET COVID FROM A PAPER TICKET WAS NO ONE
Good hockey. Even though it wasn't the outcome i wished for, we did get two fantastic games. I might add TV $$$ is screwing up the fan's experience
3 great hockey games in walking distance from my hotel. Getting tickets was great and seats were wonderful. It can't get any easier.
Great effort by Western Michigan and Minnesota to overcome partisan crowd. Venue was adequate; food choices were "stadium" stuff; venue staff was NOT friendly, or helpful; will not go back to DCU soon.
Nice venue. Parking was a little high ($20) and it took me about an hour to get out of the parking garage. Venue was very easy to find. Great experience.
I know it was done for TV, but the wait between games in Worcester was tough! There was some confusion leaving the first game and re-entering! The games themselves were solid and the fans were terrific! Food okay but the bathrooms needed work!
Games were excellent. And thankfully we could leave and re-enter with a 6 hour gap between starts. Stretch you legs and get some fresh air. Plenty of room for improvement. - The length and number of the tv timeouts kills the momentum of a college hockey game. It’s really a factor and changes the strategy of the game. - I understand the need to make money on concession but your making a ton on the beer. $6 for a bottle of water is ridiculous. Or let us bring in a water bottle! How about a water fountain that could be found would help. - Let the college bands play if they’re attending. The house music is okay at best. And the information on the jumbo screen was fine the first time we saw it but was very bad after three games of the same word guess. You can do better. Have a college intern work on it! Thanks for asking for comments.
We attended the Worcester Regionals on March 25th. The games were excellent and exciting. The DCU Center is another story. The seating is dirty, dingy, and uncomfortable. Definitely need a washing or paint job, or honestly a complete renovation. The floors in the arena were dirty, but they were clean in the main concourse outside the arena. The walls and overhead ceiling are also dirty and dingy looking, again needs a professional washing or painting. The bathrooms we used were small, had long lines, were dirty and smelly, some had no toilet paper or paper towel, and stalls with out latch locks. The attendance this day was 6002 fans. The arena supposedly can hold 14,000+, I can only imagine the nightmare if that ever happens. We have attended regionals in past years here where our teams were not in the playoffs. We won't attend any events here in the future unless we have no choice because our team is in it. I can't believe that the NCAA can not find a better arena in New England to hold this event. Maybe they just don't care? It appeared the DCU Managers don't care about the quality of this arena. This regional was actually the best attended regional (8850 two day total) of the four sites. Thanks to UMASS and Northeastern being in it.
