About

As the original legends of arena rock, few bands in existence put on a show quite like Journey. Anchored by singer Arnel Pineda's thrilling vocals and Neal Schon's unstoppable guitars, the band continues to show fans both old and new exactly how it's done as they tear through marathon sets of classics like "Don't Stop Believin'" and "Open Arms." Formed in 1973 in San Francisco from the ashes of Santana and Frumious Bandersnatch, the band has since gone through a number of lineup changes — only stalwart guitarist Neal Schon has been with every incarnation. Despite a rotating roster, the band has sold 52 million albums in the U.S., making them the eleventh best-selling band in American history. While the '70s and '80s provided them with the most commercial success, their current manifestation with Filipino singer Arnel Pineda has given them truly global breadth.

by Becky on 4/23/24Charleston Coliseum - Charleston

Venue was super nice to people that worked there, and concerts were great and everyone in audience had good time no fights or no one drank to much. Just a great experience and lead singer for Journey did amazing job. Loved everything.

    Bad Vegas Show!!!

by Wendy on 4/23/24Charleston Coliseum - Charleston

Toto was good but Journey was one of the biggest disappointments in my life. Steve Perry is Journey, they are nothing without him. They shouldn’t even be able to sell tickets under that name! He is the voice of Journey!! It was like a bad Vegas Show!!! Wish I had my money back!!!

by Pamesu on 4/23/24Charleston Coliseum - Charleston

My daughter and I drove nearly four hours to see Journey AND TOTO in Charleston, WV. It was worth every mile and $. What incredible musicians! We didn't want it to end.

    A little disappointed

by Lipstick Lady on 4/23/24Allen County War Memorial Coliseum - Fort Wayne

Loved Toto however Journey seemed like they were tired and working hard. Way too many guitar solos . Camera should have been on vocalists

    Good Show

by Marshallfan on 4/23/24Charleston Coliseum - Charleston

I have a good time and had lots of memories pop up... however, Journey is just not Journey without Steve Perry.

    Could have been amazing, but...

by FirstLegion on 4/23/24Charleston Coliseum - Charleston

The Journey/Toto concert in Charleston, WV was good in many ways, yet I hope my negative comments will influence the tour into making positive changes. The Good: - It's Journey and Toto!!! - Knowing most of the songs is a joy! - The fact that they came to such a small venue surprised and delighted me. - The musicianship from both groups were fantastic. The Bad: - The sound felt too loud and harsh. Certain instruments were sticking out terribly, (the keyboards had a ear-piercing "twang"for Journey; the kick drum was too prominent for Journey; the snare was non-existent for Journey; the background vocals for Toto were nicely compressed but too low in the mix). - Both groups played too long for each song. Journey particularly played waaaay too many guitar solos. If they would have just played the songs at normal length, they would have had room for some of the major hits they SKIPPED. In addition, playing their new material over some of those major hits was a mistake. - The lead singers of both groups strayed too far from how the album versions of the songs were originally arranged. The audience wants to sing along with you, which is 90% of the fun! - Both of the groups' performances seem to be for themselves, instead of FOR the audience. Getting the audience rocking WITH you IS the magic sauce. Overall, I'm glad I went, but there is certainly room to have made the show unforgettable for the right reasons!

Music great, audience not so much

by Nunya B on 4/23/24Charleston Coliseum - Charleston

Toto/Journey was wonderful. I had a blast getting to see them and they both put on a wonderful performance. The audience however made the experience very disappointing with people standing in the way of our seat views. They also are very rude and continue to have to go get alcoholic beverages during the entire performance, making you move out of their way. Maybe they should have separate areas for people that want to drink and those that don’t.

    Great time!

by EK on 4/23/24Charleston Coliseum - Charleston

I enjoyed the concert very much but the sound could have been better. If I didn’t know the song I couldn’t understand the words because the sound blared too much.

Toto should have been the headliner

by Liz on 4/23/24Allen County War Memorial Coliseum - Fort Wayne

Wow. I've seen Journey 2x before and this was the worst. The music was louder than the vocal mics so it was difficult to hear anything. Aside from that the lead singer (Arnel Pineda) was absolutely terrible...forgetting words, wrong words, all over the place physically. He was entirely distracting while also hardly singing properly the entire 2 hours. Ugh. I was so disappointed. The night was only saved by TOTO being amazing!

    Awesome

by Cheryl on 4/23/24Charleston Coliseum - Charleston

Journey and their lead-in act Toto both gave awesome performances. I'd see them again.

    Toto and Journey was great.

    by Lewport71 on 4/23/24Charleston Coliseum - Charleston

I was pleased the concert started on time. The stage and sound was very good. I was impressed by the speed of setting up the stage for Journey after Toto finished. The only problem was the incessant talking of the drunks behind us. Besides being late and drunk , they were obnoxious as could be The constant walking around movement by other audience members was distracting. Is it not possible to sit and listen to the performers?

    Journey

by mudcreekgal on 4/23/24Charleston Coliseum - Charleston

Journey cannot relate to the audience it was very disappointing. However; Toto was the best!! I would have like to listen to Toto during the whole concert. Journey should have opened up for Toto --- Toto got the crowd all pepped up and then when Journey came out it was a let down. Hope to see Toto again for their concert only. Thank you

by A Rexrode on 4/23/24Charleston Coliseum - Charleston

I have been a JOURNEY fan since I was a teenager. I always wanted to see them in concert and they did not disappoint! Lead singer Arnel Pineda was all over the stage and gave a great performance. Neal Schon was amazing! Would definitely see them again.

    Loud, not great

by RoboJ on 4/23/24Charleston Coliseum - Charleston

After seeing Journey about 5 years ago and thought the concert was great, I was expecting a similar performance in Charleston. But the music was too loud, and the vocals and music did not seem like Journey songs this time.
