About

Journey is a multi-platinum-selling rock band from San Francisco, California. Originally formed by former members of Santana, the Steve Miller Band and Frumious Bandersnatch, the band’s current lineup includes guitarist and backing vocalist Neal Schon, lead vocalist Arnel Pineda, keyboardist and guitarist Jonathan Cain, keyboardist Jason Derlatka, bassist Todd Jensen and drummer Deen Castronovo. After releasing a few albums — including their self-titled 1975 debut — throughout the early ‘70s, Journey reached a new height of commercial success on the charts with Infinity (1978), Evolution (1979) and Departure (1980), all of which were certified multi-platinum in the U.S. The band earned their first chart-topping album in 1981 with Escape, which also yielded massive hits like “Don’t Stop Believing” and “Open Arms.” Over the decades, Journey has continued to release studio albums and tour the world as one of the best-selling rock acts in music history, with their most recent album, Freedom, released in 2022.

  • 2 Rock Group Legends in 1 Concert

by Hai on 4/30/24Scotiabank Saddledome - CalgaryRating: 5 out of 5

It was such a Wonderful, Superb Concert! 2 Rock Group Legends- Journey and Toto in 1 Concert. I love their songs so much, no doubt about it! Congratulations Journey and Toto!!!

  • A blast!

by Krissy on 4/30/24Charleston Coliseum - CharlestonRating: 5 out of 5

We had a blast!! Journey was great! The current singer did a great job! We loved the whole show! But we will never pay the extra money for the VIP packages again tho. What you get in the package is definitely not worth what you pay. And you still have to wait in the super long lines for everything.

  • Great singing, too much guitar solo

by Little Big Man on 4/30/24Scope Arena - NorfolkRating: 2 out of 5

Singing was fantastic. Music was excellent, except for the fact that there was too much guitar solos that went on and on and on. We know that the guitar player is excellent at his job, but we don’t need to hear it all the time on every song. That took away from Enjoying the concert to its fullest. You can easily take a bathroom break on every song during those guitar solos. Ho hum. If I could just delete all those guitar solos, I would be Very happy..

  • Awesome

by Tracey on 4/29/24Scope Arena - NorfolkRating: 5 out of 5

It was so much fun I would do it again it was amazing

  • Band is great, but sound & lines were not

by NY Chik on 4/29/24Scope Arena - NorfolkRating: 3 out of 5

They are a great band, but sound was awful. We were on the floor, sitting next to center aisle 2/3 away from stage. Not much clarity on the sound, vocals were not heard unless it was a slower song, treble seemed high & speakers couldn't handle the volume. I had a blast despite poor sound. The lines for alcohol & ladies bathroom were extremely long, both length & duration, which was disappointing as you miss more of the show.

  • Not worth the ticket price

by JDea on 4/29/24Scope Arena - NorfolkRating: 2 out of 5

Lifetime Journey fan here – this was the eighth time I’ve seen them live. It pains me to say the show was not great. The sound quality was terrible and it was not just having an off night. We saw them two years ago in Virginia Beach and had the same experience. Unfortunately, it’s time to stop believing’— live in concert anyway.

  • Awesome

by Aymel on 4/29/24Scope Arena - NorfolkRating: 5 out of 5

They’re still my favorite rock band. The best music!!!

  • Concert of a Lifetime

by Jo & Rob on 4/29/24Scope Arena - NorfolkRating: 5 out of 5

Journey was absolutely FABULOUS, as expected! But what made this even better was how good the opening band, Toto, was also! Never been to a better concert, and we've been to many!

  • So many good songs!

by Jeannie on 4/29/24Scope Arena - NorfolkRating: 4 out of 5

It was the 2nd time we've been to their concerts & its a good evening for all the fun, beautiful hit songs that were sung. This time, got a bit bored with so many guitar solos taking up some of the time.

  • Great Time

    by Xxmagical99 on 4/29/24Scope Arena - NorfolkRating: 5 out of 5

We had awesome seats next to the stage with a great view!! I loved it. The performance was spot on! Would definitely go see these two bands again!

  • Horrible Parking

by CP on 4/29/24Scope Arena - NorfolkRating: 4 out of 5

If The Scope is going to have a concert when tickets went on sale in September 2023 would'nt it make sense to have adequate parking? No direction or organization at all. Plus another $10.00 when one has already spent a lot of money already on tickets. Maybe for other concerts "the powers that be"can get it together.

  • Too much echo

by Wayneb on 4/29/24Scope Arena - NorfolkRating: 4 out of 5

Great seats, great performance from both bands. I really enjoyed the concert however, we were mid-way between the stage and the back of the arena. There was a horrible echo where we sat. The sound was very bad a times because of the echo and maybe slight "feedback"through the sound system. Otherwise, this was easy to get to, entrance processing was very easy and the lines moved quickly. Parking nearby was also very easy and inexpensive. Other than the sound, I would only comment on how sticky the floor was in my row. I would come back again!

  • Journey and Toto put on an excellent show!!!

by Simon on 4/29/24Scope Arena - NorfolkRating: 5 out of 5

Absolutely amazing shows...I bought these tickets as a Christmas present for my Mom and she can not stop talking about the concert...we had a fantastic time...both bands sounded awesome and the energy they put out was just fantastic...

  • Great Concert!

by Wheels on 4/29/24Scope Arena - NorfolkRating: 4 out of 5

This Toto and Journey Concert was great! The arrival processing was quite good, and the concert remained right on schedule. My only ugh was that the floor seating wasn't staggered left/right so I had a tough time seeing the stage because of the large man sitting directly in front of me...had the seats been staggered left right this would have been less of an issue.

  • GREAT MUSIC....VENUE NOT SO MUCH...CRAMPED SEATING

by CANDY on 4/29/24Scope Arena - NorfolkRating: 4 out of 5

Enjoyed both Journey and Toto. The concert was well presented, great graphics and the bands clearly were prepared to give the audience mostly what they came for. Journey did wander into a lot of jams which is not really what we went there for but mostly played their top hits. The absence of Steve Parry was evident but the lead singer for Journey did a pretty good job. Toto was also great and the only song that I missed was Breakfast in America. But overall the concert was awesome and went on for close to four hours. We definitely got our moneys worth. Not so great was the seating at Scope Arena in Norfolk VA. We had low level seats very close to the stage. The seats were small and very cramped together. It made for an uncomfortable seating arrangement though we did have full view of the stage and bands. The sound was also not the best. Songs with a lot of base sounded muffled. I would recommend this concert but won't go to Scope for any future music events. The place is small, cramped and stuffy. It really detracted from fully enjoying this concert.

  • Both Journey and Toto were fantastic!

by Freebird on 4/29/24Scope Arena - NorfolkRating: 5 out of 5

I enjoyed the entire show the opening show with Toto was then Journey came out and they were incredible! Tons of energy and great music by both bands. We had a great time!

  • Awesome show

    by Valfromthe80s on 4/29/24Scope Arena - NorfolkRating: 5 out of 5

Loved the show. Toto was great and Journey was fantastic. Loved how the arena was almost sold out and everyone was rocking on every song. Only would have been better with a little less Neal Schon coverage.

  • waited a lifetime but felt ho-hum

by Bill on 4/29/24Scope Arena - NorfolkRating: 3 out of 5

Grew up listening to Journey, first band I ever remembered while getting ready for school in the morning. Felt really excited to finally see my childhood band, but the acoustics and sound mixing was off. Mostly the mixing was not allowing me to fully hear the vocals as the instruments drowned out the singer(s). The arena was not helping either, couldn't figure out if it was the speakers or how the sounds were bouncing off the walls. But either way this will be my last concert in an arena. I am happy to have attended and hit that bucket list item. The Virginia Beach amphitheatre is open air and has massive quality speaker sets so, I will just focus in on summer concerts there for now on.

  • Overwhelming and Epic

by Kara on 4/29/24Scope Arena - NorfolkRating: 5 out of 5

Toto was incredible. Their musicality and vocals were outstanding. They were very engaging and they played all of the hits of my childhood. Journey was equally amazing. I could tell that the lead singer was a bit tired vocally but he was incredible. The pianist that sang the Steve Perry song was also incredible. It was such a great night of music and memories. And yes I cried when Toto played Africa and Journey played Open Arms. The sound was a bit off in parts but that could have been in relationship to how we were positioned with the speakers. High ends got a little hurtful. But overall it was a wonderful night! Highly recommend showing up for both bands as they will leave it all on the stage for you.

  • It was phenomenal! Once in a lifetime event!

by Kelly on 4/29/24Scope Arena - NorfolkRating: 5 out of 5

Journey has just gotten better and better. Still miss Steve Perry. But a truly memorable night! You know it's good when the audience knows the songs and is singing louder than the lead singer and the band. A Night to Remember.
