The show was good and I would recommend sitting a few rows back.

About
TIM RICE and ANDREW LLOYD WEBBER's Tony Award®-winning musical returns at last!
Eva Perón used her beauty and charisma to rise meteorically from the slums of Argentina to the presidential mansion as First Lady. Adored by her people as a champion for the poor, she became one of the most powerful women in the world — while her greed, outsized ambition and fragile health made her one of the most tragic. EVITA tells Eva's passionate and unforgettable true story, and features some of theater's most beautiful songs, including "Don't Cry for Me Argentina," "Another Suitcase in Another Hall" and "High Flying, Adored." Don't miss the stunning new production of EVITA, directed by MICHAEL GRANDAGE and choreographed by ROB ASHFORD, that Channel 4 New York calls "THE HOTTEST TICKET IN TOWN!"

Rating: 4 out of 5 A wonderful experience
by Jiaozi on 10/10/13Oriental Theatre Chicago - ChicagoI saw Evita on the big screen first. Of course, before that I heard the famous main theme. I love how the playwright made the story and how the director put the music, settings and lights together. To enjoy beautiful songs, fluent dance and powerful performance and see a legendary woman's life in two hours, the musical Evita is a great experience! Credits go to the minor characters, who shifted costumes from every scene!
Rating: 1 out of 5 Evita... not so much!!!!
by MonopolyMan on 10/9/13Oriental Theatre Chicago - ChicagoNot having seen the movie, or studied history in advance of this performance was a real disadvantage. From the very start, I could not understand what was going on. There was not 1 spoken word which only made matters worse, so I was never able to get into a plot...if there was one. Bottom line, I spent $100's to hear 1 song that I knew and liked, but even then, that performance was not done very well. On a bright note, I love the theater itself, it is absolutely stunning and dinner after the show was very enjoyable. I would definitely come back to see another performance here, but not Evita.

Rating: 4 out of 5 Great Choreography & Stage Backdrops
by Bodivine on 10/8/13Oriental Theatre Chicago - ChicagoI was highly impressed withe stage setups, the backdrops, and the choreography. The singing was very good. I found Evita's singing a little shriller than expected. The performances and the dances were excellent. The seating was excellent. The theater was outstandingly old, well maintained with breathtaking architecture inside. The performance of the song and setup of "On this night of a thousand stars...." was fabulous.

by Travelmuch on 10/8/13Oriental Theatre Chicago - ChicagoSo much talent in one show! Thoroughly enjoyable. We had a wonderful time. The suite service is well worth the extra money paid and made the day perfect. Great time!
Rating: 5 out of 5 better than the broadway show
by mck60610 on 10/8/13Oriental Theatre Chicago - ChicagoWe saw the revival a few months ago in NYC, which actually was disappointing despite the great music and timeless story. This production was great; we saw it twice in Chicago!
