ELF is the hilarious tale of Buddy, a young orphan child who mistakenly crawls into Santa's bag of gifts and is transported back to the North Pole. Unaware that he is actually human, Buddy's enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth. With Santa's permission, Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father, discover his true identity, and help New York remember the true meaning of Christmas. This modern day Christmas classic is sure to make everyone embrace their inner ELF. The New York Times says that ELF is "SPLASHY, PEPPY, SUGAR-SPRINKLED HOLIDAY ENTERTAINMENT!" USA Today calls ELF, "ENDEARINGLY GOOFY!" Variety proclaims, "ELF is happy enough for families, savvy enough for city kids and plenty smart for adults!"

Elf the Musical was a great way to kick off the holidays! The cast, crew and story are just as adorable on stage as it was on the screen. There were a lot of littles in the audience and Elf is a great musical for young children - not too long and the characters are likeable.
Thank goodness for the guy who played Buddy. He saved the show. Was awesome and did well in terms of mimicking the movie. The guy who played his father was ok too. All others were mediocre. I fault the writers more though. This could have been a much, much funnier show but the script was lackluster.
For me the main attraction for Elf is the positive nature of the story, the innocence of the character and how he helps others become better. This version had too much satire for me and Jovie was downright mean.
Elf was very enjoyable! A lot of friendly adult humor mixed in the storyline to please the whole crowd (rather than just the kids).
The play was pretty good. Nothing too flashy. Great show to take the kids to. I knew going in that wouldn't compare to the movie, but I did enjoy myself. I can't imagine that there is a bad seat in the house. I would not see this play again, but I would recommend it if you love Elf or need a show to take the kids to.
Loved the show , the cast was perfect !!! Really puts you In the holiday spirit , very energetic cast :)
An enjoyable holiday entertainment! Good staging, fine voices, super production.
Definately put you into the Christmas spirit. Enjoyed the music very much and I thought it was quite funny and up with the times(Santa with an ipad)
As much as I wanted to love this, I found it awkwardly unfunny and not nearly as endearing as the movie. Big disappointment.
My husband and I really enjoyed this musical. It would be a fantastic outing for the entire family. What a wonderful Christmas memory with the kids!
Maybe because Will Ferrell owns the role, this musical was horrible. The theater was less than half full. The stage appeared to be from a high school set. The actors were talented and able to sing and dance but the production was less than average. The theater was a huge disappointment. We paid for the "suite" which were appetizers and drinks. The appetizers were ten little sandwiches and cut veggies. I love veggies but when you pay $40 per person...seriously? Of course they ran out of food and were unable to get more. So, save your money do not go!
We all know the movie Elf was hysterical. Will Farrel, per usual, was amazing. The movie had so many key scenes that made you laugh so hard. And when someone mentions Elf the movie, you remember those key scenes. The musical, not so much. Those key scenes... completely drowned out and not even remotely funny. The songs they created for the show were so forced and not even cacthy. The main character's voice was pitch high the whole time. (Pretty sure Will Farrel didn't sound pre-pubescent in his version.) I honestly laughed ONE time in the first half of the musical. Why only the first half you ask? Because we left at intermission. Don't waste your money on this show. Go see Wicked or something with more substance. I understand, you want to be in the holiday spirit. So did I! And boy, did I turn into the Grinch after wasting my time.
I attended with my niece from Denver and my husband. It was so funny and we really had a great evening. So glad we included seeing Elf the Muscial in our evening plans. I would recommend it to anyone who loves Elf the movie.
Great cast and sets. Very funny. Puts you in the Holiday Spirit.
I would go to this every year if it was in town! The show was surprisingly more comical than the movie!!!!
Not as funny as I expected. Story was definitely geared more toward children than adults.
I thought the tickets were a bit pricey, especially with a family of six. However, our children range from 5 to 26 years and it was a show that we all enjoyed. I would recommend going, I was a tad disappointed in the theatre itself. No comparison to The Oriental Theatre down the street.
A musical that was pure fun, amazing singers and just an overall good time.
Excellent show. Not just for kids or families with children. Adults will love it too.
