About

Legendary New York-bred singer-songwriter Billy Joel has toured only sporadically in recent years, but fans have plenty of opportunities to score tickets to see him in concert going forward -- if they're willing to head out to New York's Madison Square Garden. Joel signed an open-ended deal with MSG that will have him playing a concert at the venue once per month for as long as there's demand. And demand has never been a problem for Joel at he historic New York venue; he played his first show there in 1978, and had logged 46 concerts at the arena by 2013.
New York isn't alone in its love for the singer. Joel has long been established as one of the top-grossing touring artists in the U.S., and has sold more than 150 million records over the course his four-decade career. After recording a long string of hits including "Piano Man," "New York State of Mind," "Just the Way You Are," "You May Be Right," "Pressure," "Uptown Girl," "We Didn't Start the Fire," and  "The River of Dreams," Joel decided that he was done writing pop and rock songs. It's a decision he's stuck with; it's been more than 20 years since he's recorded a new pop or rock album. He's composed new classical material instead, while continuing to play songs from his catalog in concert.

    Electric!!

by Petals99 on 4/29/24Madison Square Garden - New York

Saw Billy Joel on Friday, April 26th at MSG. This was our 9th or 10th time seeing him at MSG, and even though all of the other times were great, this was by far the best show yet! There was so much electricity and energy by Billy and everyone in the band. We'll be back for the June show and the residency finale in July!!

    Unbelievable concert!

by Mike P on 4/29/24Madison Square Garden - New York

Billy Joel just keeps getting better with age. His voice was amazing and he hit the high notes! So sad the residency at MSG is ending...

    Fanastic show

by Dick S on 4/29/24Madison Square Garden - New York

In a lifetime of attending concerts, shows, events...Billy Joel had the highest energy, delivered a performance withou gaps, and surely without peer. It was the best show I ever attended, and Mr. Joel has not lost a step!

If you have seen it once you have seen them all

by Concertgoer on 4/29/24Madison Square Garden - New York

He puts on an amazing show. But if you have been to any of the shows in the past 10 or even 20 years. It is the same show with 1 or 2 different songs. With such a deep catalogue of hits it’s unfortunate that there is not more variation. Even the jokes are the same!

    Need 5 more years

by Jaycee on 4/29/24Madison Square Garden - New York

It never gets old going to a Billy Joel concert. We need Billy to play MSG for another 10 years. Thanks for the memories Billy.

    Great Show, Great Music

by Nraeh on 4/29/24Madison Square Garden - New York

Great Show, Great Music - I like how he gives others a chance to show their stuff (Alexa Ray, Mike D, Etc) and was even treated to a hot sexy Christie Brinkley in the audience at age 70 she is incredible looking I would love to go see his final residency show

    Great Concert

by LBrownlee on 4/29/24Madison Square Garden - New York

Billy was a little nostalgic, which triggered a few deep album cuts and great dialogue. He really enjoyed himself and the audience really responded. Billy is still a classic .

    So far away

by Dorth on 4/24/24Petco Park - San Diego

While the performers each deserve 5 stars, the venue is not the greatest for a concert. Petco Park is a great BASEBALL stadium but not for a concert, the seating is so far away from the stage that the performers appear 1 inch tall. Thank goodness for the giant video screens or we wouldn't have seen anything. The sound system was great. The floor seats went out so far to the sides, I'd be surprised if those people on the outer floor sections could see much. At these prices, I would prefer other San Diego venues better designed for these kind of shows. BUT, both Billy Joel and Sting were fabulous !!!

Even with the rain it was fun

by CBad Dad on 4/23/24Petco Park - San Diego

My original tickets were awful, and misrepresented. 7 rows back from the front, but the view was 100ft to the left of the stage looking at metal railing and a sign for restrooms. The good news was that LiveNation remedied the situation. We ended up center 35 rows back. What an improvement. The sound was perfect. Sting is still rock star. The music was tight and engaging, although it did come off a bit procedural. Billy Joel, is out there giving it his best, and is still fun and his band is great. Showcasing some of the individual artists from both bands was a great way to demonstrate the level of talent in both bands. Rain or not, I’m glad I didn’t miss this event.

Billy and Sting Are the Men!

by tombones99 on 4/23/24Petco Park - San Diego

Both put on an amazing show! Sting was the perfect opener for Billy Joel. Billy is still amazing at his age, unbelievable he can bring it in his mid 70's. Sound and vision, the video and light production was top notch!

    The pros pro concert

by vegasbob on 4/22/24Petco Park - San Diego

Fifty years and better than ever. The band was point on the entire show and the horn section was phenomenal. Billy Joel packs so much entertainment into his singing and playing. The crowd was also into it all night, in spite of rain and cold.

    Distorted sound - bummer!

by Maggie on 4/22/24Petco Park - San Diego

Disappointed in the sound and visual systems at the park. We were in 3rd level and the sound was very distorted. Also disappointed that the concert was not on the big screen. The 2 screens it was projected onto were really only beneficial for the people on lower levels. And then the rain.....Unfortunately we got very wet and had to leave a few songs into Billy Joel's portion of the concert. Good info about PETCO - great for games but would never go to a concert there again.

Billy Joels encore was great, wish it could have lasted longer. Sting was a pleasant surprise. Would liked to have heard Do Do Do Da Da Da.

The best of Sting and Billy Joel’s

by MC on 4/20/24Petco Park - San Diego

I have seen both Sting and Billy Joel on their own concerts over a dozen times, but this last tour brought up the best of both, and also their team of musicians, all super good!

    As expected

by Lil Buc on 4/19/24Petco Park - San Diego

He played a variety of songs, didn’t waste a lot of time talking, he got down to business. The weather could have been better, I believe he was freezing initially.
