Ziggy Marley's Family Time was exactly what the title said. Not only did the children enjoy the music, so did the adults. This was a show for all - children, teens, and adults.
It was amazing and so touching. The venue was great--so small, it almost felt like you had Ziggy in your own backyard for a private concert. We had tickets in the balcony, but felt so connected. Ziggy was warm, at ease, funny and engaged the audience. By far one of the most touching aspects of the show was that his two little ones were on stage with him! Singing and bouncing around, like toddlers love to do, the entire concert! Loved it!! (And, of course, he sang two of his father's songs: Jammin' and Three Little Birds, so that made the day for me) :)
This concert was directed primarly at children, but was a great time for adults. Ziggy and his two children were electric on stage. =0)
Zizzy was great. The music was great, the kids that performed were amazing. The venue location not so hot for kids. The bar at a family time event did not match, and the audience that sat in the pit (which is where my family was) had a difficult time with adults that had to be told to sit down so the kids could see. Pick a better location next time.
The venue was large enough for families to spread out and enjoy the show. There was a lot of love in the air.
Playful, positive, uplifting! Ziggy had all the kids immersed with his playful, positive beats. The Family Time tour was amazing!!
This event was wonderful once it got started. There was a long delay in starting which was difficult for the little ones but once it started it was excellent. It was great to see his children perform and how well they work together.
I took my 15 yr. old daughter, and we had such a wonderful time! His new CD "Family Time" is made especially for kids, and for the whole family to enjoy! We did! I loved how he got all the kids involved with his show, and most of his attention on them "the kids". Such an uplifting fun vibe. It was so great that Ziggy even had his 2 little kids peforming the entire show...ADORBLE! Born with such natural talent....AMAZING! I definately recommend everyone to go see the show!!!! There was one part I was bummed out about.... when I looked up the venue online, it stated No Cameras Allowed in Club Nokia, so I didn't bring my camera. Let me tell you.....I think EVERYONE in the place had a camera....but me!
Absolutely incredible show. Really geared to kids (really), but very enjoyable for whole family. He even played some old Bob Marley tunes for the parents. Had all the adults sit down so kids could dance and see the show. Reminding everyone this was for the kids. Incredible venue as well at Nokia Theatre My son has the CD and LOVES to listen to it over and over again, remember Ziggy in concert (he is 4 years old).
Excellent show, however, it was very difficult and frastrating to sit on the floor with other parents and kids standing up whenver they wanted to. I would love to attend another show. But I will NOT go to a show unless there are assigned seats.
My wife and I took our 5 and 4 year old boys down to club nokia for Ziggy Marley's afternoon kids show. As has become clear with shows at club nokia the time on the ticket is almost always a door time, and not a show time. The ticket said 10:30, so we rolled in at 10:30 to find a large line of people waiting. Club Nokia did not open the doors till 10:45, kind of lame for a kids show. Club Nokia is not on the top of my list for venues. The show started with a drum circle run by a musician from the then to follow opening act. The drum circle was fun, they had drums for all the kids to use. The opening act was fun too, but i forgot their name. Ziggy Finally came on at 12:30. That was the only bummer of the day, with small children I would have showed up close to this time if the venue had been more forthcoming about the real schedule. But we all know they never are. Ziggy played most of the tunes on his new family album, intermixed with some of his dad's classic favorites. The venue was not very full and it was very intimate. Really glad we took the kids for this concert experience. The Grammy Museum kids programs are really excellent, and I recommend them.
It was wonderful. Ziggy was great, they need more concerts for families.
I have two boys 18 months and 34 months and we were concerned how kid friendly this was going to be. When we entered the Nokia center, there were instruments for the kids to play with. We were all standing but an announcement was made to stay seated and let the kids stand. (thank you). After that we were able to sit and enjoy the music. There wasn't a bad place in the house and there was room for your kids to move around. If they got squirrly or had a tantrum there was an open back area inside and outside there was crafts for the kids to do. The best part was that parents could have a beer and relax to!!
I enjoyed the event with my grandchildren and thought it was totally awsome and interactive. I loved the way my grandchildren got involved with the music I have loved for a long time. I would highly recommend this show to any person young and old. It will make you feel young all over again!!!!
Ziggy was great, my 3 yr old sang along with Ziggy!
This was a great first reggae show to take my nephew to. Ziggy played his family time children's songs and a few Bob songs. They had peanut butter & jelly sandwiches and Red Stripe beers, which was awesome! The venue was also really cool. Club Nokia is small so you can't get a bad seat.
This was my eight year olds first OFFICIAL CONCERT EXPEREINCE! I was estatic with the entire Grammy Museum Present's Concert concept. The interactive instruments, a small space to stand and move with the melodies was just perfect! The family theme was a great way for us all to come together and Ziggy's kids... simply amazing. I would definately support more events like this one. AND ANYTIME I GET TO STAND WITHIN FIVE FEET OF ZIGGY and dance to his live music, in total peace, is a blessing!
What a wonderful opportunity for our family to enjoy a Ziggy Marley concert upclose and very personal. The interaction and family acitivities at the end were bonuses all of the children could enjoy. What a great time we had and look forward to the next family event sponsored by the Grammy Museum.
The concert was amazing! We all had a fantastic time. The crowd was involved and captivated. Everyone on stage was engaging and had a lot of energy. Ziggys voice sounded great and the music was fun for all ages. We all had a blast. Super show!!!
KILLER SHOW. THE WHOLE FAMILY HAD A GREAT TIME AND WHAT A GREAT IDEA TO HAVE A FAMILY SHOW. ZIGGY IS A LEADER AND INSIGHTFUL TO PROVIDE A MODIFIED SHOW FOR KIDS. HAVING EVERYONE SIT DOWN ON THE STAGE WAS ALSO SPECIAL AND HELPED SHAPE THE FAMILY STYLE MOOD.
