Zebra on Tour
Zebra galloped out of New Orleans in early 1975. The trio, consisting of Randy Jackson, Felix Hanemann and Guy Gelso, concocted their moniker from a 1926 Vogue magazine cover and soon won over the South and East Coast. In 1982 Zebra's self-titled debut album went gold and was the fastest selling debut album in Atlantic Records' history thanks to the radio and MTV airplay of "Tell Me What You Want" and "Who's Behind the Door?". Veteran producer Jack Douglas (John Lennon, Aerosmith, Cheap Trick) also helmed the follow-up, "No Tellin' Lies". The songs range from the hard-rocking "Wait Until the Summer's Gone" to the Beatle-esque ballad, "Lullaby". With the release of their third Atlantic album "3.V", Zebra took their career one step farther: the album's credits read "Produced by Randy Jackson and Zebra". Thus, for the very first time, the group gained complete control of its creative output. A collection of the finest songs they have ever written, "3.V" clearly shows Zebra's lasting power and originality. In all, Zebra fans enjoyed a total of five videos aired on MTV and have given the band combined album sales of nearly 2 million worldwide. Zebra emerged from the studio again in 2003 with "ZEBRA IV", on Mayhem Records. This could possibly be the best effort by Zebra to date with powerful cuts which include "Arabian Nights", "Why" and "Waiting To Die". Zebra's live performances often last over two hours and showcase their new material along with all the classic Zebra tunes: "Who's Behind the Door?", "Tell Me What You Want", "Wait Until the Summer's Gone", "Bears", "One More Chance" and other all-time favorites including an occasional Led Zeppelin cover. "ZEBRA THE DVD", released in 2008 captures the band's energy and power on stage. The DVD features live concert footage from both Long Island and the House of Blues in New Orleans in addition to several interviews and bonus features. In 2010 Zebra was inducted into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame and is acknowledged as Louisiana's #1 Rock and Roll band by the Louisiana Music Commission. On October 18, 2012 Zebra was inducted into the Long Island Music Hall of Fame. Celebrating their 40 Anniversary in 2015 Zebra continues to WOW audiences across the country with their Hard-Rocking Live shows performing in select markets nationwide.-Making a Triumphant Return to NYC in November 2019.

Really a fun night. The old guys still have it. Definitely go.
This was our 8th time seeing Zebra - great band!! Sounded Awesome!!
Awesome show. The band played all their hits spanning their music catalog.
Ive seen them many times over last 20 years. They rockd. Never a bad show. Must see!
in the recent days of 2014, i have seen Randy Jackson perform many times. I have even seen Felix at a couple of band shows, but when you have them two and you add Guy into the mix they are an equivalent of a modern Led Zeppelin (with as much talent as they had "in their hay day"). i think that if Zebra had an idea to go in the studio and crank out a few songs you may see the hardest working band make history !!!
Youth Be Told wowed the crowd with their combination of Rock classic covers and powerful originals. Zebra was amazing, playing their crowd pleasing originals with Guy Gelso's pounding drums and Felix Hanneman's bass and keyboards backing Randy Jackson's amazing vocals and jaw dropping guitar rifts. The crowd was also treated to an amazing rendition of Crossroads with Randy Jackson joining YTB's Lennon Ashton. A memorable show for the ages.
Zebra and Lillian Axe were awesome as always. The auditorium area at the Paragon Casino is well thought out. The sound system was excellent.
had a really good time the music was really good all the bands sound great to
Zebra is one of the most underrated bands of the 80s. They have 4+ albums of great material and if you ever have the chance to see them live, take it. I have seen Randy Jackson's acoustic shows and they are awesome but finally getting to see Zebra live was a long awaited event. They put on a great show. My only complaint was too many opening bands. The opening bands were great but had long sets and Zebra didn't get to take the stage till 10:30pm. Other than that the show was awesome. Will see them again if I get the chance.
I love these guys but this show just didn't do it for me. Randy's voice was not up to par and Flelix just complained about everything. The sound and lights just sucked.
Opening band, wonderous stories, one of the best cover bands I ever saw. Then Zebra played an amazing set. These guys are still amazing after all these years. Their music is timeless.
This was the third time Zebra has played nycb theater at Westbury. The venue is unique and known for its fantastic sound.Zebra breezed through an amazing set of songs and showed that they truly are a power trio. They are personable and give thanks to their crew, fans and friends wherever they go. Randys voice was strong and the instruments crystal clear. The sound techs at westbury are all expert at what they do.Anyone who lives in this area should make sure they see a show at this venue.I go often and they really have a grasp on putting on a live music event
I have followed this band many, many years ... and all i can say is that Randy and the boys are as tecnically sound as ever. The performance took me back 20 years,,,I am so happy they are still touring and being a native of New Orleans, made it all that more spectacular.I was especially surprised the band took so much time to schmooze with fans after the show. I have only been waiting for that hug 20 or so years!
Zebra put on a solid performance Friday night, working through what was obviously some difficulties with the sound board and their on stage monitors. Randy Jackson is still able to hit almost all the high notes. The drums were the most powerful I had heard them, as this was the fourth time I have seen them since 1988. What I appreciate most about Zebra is regardless of the audience size, I have seen them sold out in LI and with about 80 people at a NJ Festival in the late 90's, they perform with the same amount of enthusiasm and respect for the audience. They were clearly having difficulty with the on stage monitors as roadies had to come on stage numerous times, but Zebra took it all in stride and never seemed to get annoyed or distracted. The venue, Bergen PAC really needs some work done on it. The show was well worth the price of admission.
Zebra was one of my favorite bands growing up in the 80's and they did not disappoint tonight. Would definitely see them again!
Zebra was on the money this trip. They connected and responded to the audience and really rocked it out. Lets do it again! Thank you!
Awesome show. First saw Zebra in 1984. Flash forward to 2013, they still rock!
I have followed zebra since the early days and they are amazing.I could not wait for them to play the paramount as the place is great for live music. The sound is great and the stage is perfect size and height.Zebra really go out of their way to give you the best show they can and this show was one of their best.Randy is a god on guitar.Felix and Guy likewise are awesome. They did a good long set and even did some zep covers.Randy is dead on with those vocals.
The show was amazing and Zebra did not disappoint. They put on a great show as usual. Chilly Willie is such a nice addition to the already amazing show. Always nice to hear Chilly Willie play the Sax!
While White Fire was just a cover band they had the crowd going with with an awesome playlist. And as for Zebra ? Top notch all the way. Randy was outrageous as usual and Felix and Gus were tighter than ever. Randy ! If you ever read this dump BC Rich techs and try someone like Ed Clark for your guitars.
