  • YTG killed it!

by Joe on 7/19/23Rating: 5 out of 5

Rain delay and shortened set did not get in the way of a great show! In fact it seemed to only energize YTG to bring it even harder to satisfy the fans. Unbelievable performance and energy. 4th time seeing them live and they only get better!!

  • Rain delay

by Zach on 7/19/23Rating: 1 out of 5

Rain delayed for two hours before YTG came on. Despite clear signs that a storm was coming, the venue allowed milky chance to play an entire opening set. Had to go home and didn’t even get to see YTG play and I had paid for good seats. Thanks a lot Skyla Credit Union Amphitheater for the giant waste of money!

  • Band was phenomenal! Venue could have done better.

by Kelli on 7/19/23Rating: 4 out of 5

Milky Chance and Young the Giant were phenomenal as always!! We did experience a rain delay, where they kicked everyone out of the venue with zero warning. We had full, expensive drinks that we weren't given time to finish, and no word on whether we would be allowed back in. The only way we knew the show was back on was from the band's social media, which was posted long after they were allowing people back in. It just could have been handled better in my opinion.

  • Summer fun

by Abby on 7/19/23Rating: 5 out of 5

The staff was friendly and helpful. Milky Chance and Young the giant stages were great and started on time. The heat didn’t stop people from having a good time!

  • Rock and Roll meets Diwali

by cinnawood on 7/19/23Rating: 5 out of 5

Epic show with video, awesome energy, great light and decorative effects - not to mention the absolutely rockin' musical performance. Young the Giant isn't just entertainment, it's an experience. If you are a fan at all, this will take your experience of this band truly next level.

  • An amazing show

by Candyy on 7/19/23Rating: 5 out of 5

From start to finish, this performance was well organized and kept everyone on their feet by how awe the whole thing was. An amazing set for an amazing group of artists.

  • Always great

Triple love YTG. Great show, great venue. Added bonus- crowd is always super diverse and chill.

  • Young the Giant & Milky Chance

by LindseyP on 7/19/23Rating: 4 out of 5

This show was AMAZING. The artists absolutely blew it away. My only complaint was how the storm situation was handled. We were told to exit the venue upon seeing lighting and hearing thunder (which was totally fine, thats a standard safety protocol). We were then told to check social media to get an update on if the show would resume. The Skyla Credit Ampitheatre was posting sporadic updates, but they were replying to their own comments so you couldnt see the updates unless you looked for them. The only way I knew that the show was resuming was because a concertgoer posted on the comment section that a live nation employee had come into the parking garage and told people that the concert was restarting. So maybe just better communication of issues, but other than that the show was great!

  • Great Experience. Drink Prices Outrageous

by Breanna on 7/19/23Rating: 4 out of 5

I thoroughly enjoyed the Young The Giant concert. I have seen them at the Skyla Credit Union Amphitheater twice now and both times have been great. I appreciated their willingness to keep everyone safe during the weather but still allow the show to go on. I do wish that they could've performed longer but I'm sure there's some type of noise ordinance that prohibits them from performing past 11. The bathrooms were clean for a concert of that size and all the staff was super kind and fun despite it being packed and super hot. The only issue I had was the amount of money it cost for drinks. The sign said a vodka lemonade was $25 which is outrageous because they used Svedka which I'm sure isn't even $20 in a liquor store. Not only that but that tax also had to be crazy high because the price came out to $65 for 2 drinks before a tip. The refills were also listed at $19 and I paid $53 for 2 refills. I get that they're going to be expensive but that was a bit much especially when you pay $150+ to be there. Young The Giant and Milky Chance were absolutely perfect though.

  • Rain or Shine!

    by sc_cinnamongirl on 7/18/23Rating: 5 out of 5

Young the Giant was amazing on 7/15. We were not sure if we would even be able to get to see them due to thunderstorms but they were able to play for an hour or so and they gave it their all. This is not my first time seeing them but they never disappoint!

  • Concert was great, but the venue needs some work.

by Medphysdave on 7/18/23Rating: 2 out of 5

Kudos to the event planners for taking the weather into account. We certainly don't want a RedRock debacle. However, the notice was a little on the short side when considering that no one leaving the venue had any sense of urgency. Long slow lines to get out into the parking lot. The lawn, lower seating, and middle seating all dump into one small entrance. They should redesign the area so that the entire side of the lawn is a staircase down to the ticketing area. Had this been a real emergency we would have all been in trouble. Luckily it would be tough to have a fire in the middle of a concrete and lawn venue. The bands were great. Communication about the weather was great. The lawn seating felt like it was oversold. It was PACKED. That was unpleasant and I would not return with lawn tickets at this venue. I miss the popsicle vendors. Especially for the kids.

  • Great show

by Skippy on 7/18/23Rating: 5 out of 5

Young the Giant put on a great show, full of energy, as always. I always love getting to see them live!

  • Oversold Pit

by PeanutBRad on 7/18/23Rating: 3 out of 5

Venue oversold pit tickets plus a rain delay, so YTG played for 30 minutes, then took a break for I guess an encore. Played 4 more songs for another 15 minutes. Band sounded great, nothing earth shattering, played songs as studio versions. A lot of money for 45 minutes of music plus the over crowded, drugged/drunk pit. Not a lot of fun. This was for the Charlotte Uptown amphitheater.

  • Best night ever?

by Caitlin on 7/18/23Rating: 5 out of 5

Even with a weather delay (everyone had to exit after the openers), YTG put on an amazing show. Awesome energy and total professionals after they had to chance their set list and wait around an extra hour or so. I will see them anytime they come back to the area!

  • Lightening Delay!

by Sallie on 7/18/23Rating: 1 out of 5

Durnit! Never got to see Young the Giant! Started storming and we were instructed to sit in our car. After an hour, we gave up since we had a solid hour of driving ahead to get home. NOT YtG's fault at all!!!!! DID get to see Milky Chance and Oh Boy! they were great fun!!!!!! A total audience sign along! Maybe we'll get to see Young the G next go round!

  • Cramped Spaces

by Whitney on 7/18/23Rating: 2 out of 5

The music was GREAT but the event space was way over crowded. First, we had to move because someone brought chairs that were above 9", therefore, blocking the view. Then, we had to leave before Young the Giant came on because the garden seating was sooo packed that I kept getting drinks spilled on me and feet poking me in the back.

  • Rained out- no communication

by MJ on 7/18/23Rating: 1 out of 5

Evacuated concert due to weather soon after the opening act finished. There was only one exit.. it took a long time to get out safely. Waited around in the rain for several minutes. Then eventually left. Got no notification the concert was back on until the next morning when it was seen on instagram. So disappointing! Milky Chance was great but was really looking forward to hearing one of my favorite bands, Young the Giant.

  • Disappointing

by CharlotteKid on 7/18/23Rating: 1 out of 5

The overall concert experience at the venue was disappointing to say the least; because of lightning in the area the venue was forced to evacuate leaving thousands of concert goers with nowhere to be. Understanding there was little the band could do about this, following the shelter in place the venue reopened and the band started their set. The city of Charlotte has a noise ordinance past 11 o’clock, and the band started around 10:30 meaning the time they played was around 30 minutes. After looking forward to this show for months and buying expensive seats only seeing the band perform for 30 minutes was as mentioned, disappointing. Hopefully in the future they can better accommodate similar situations, or compensate the audience in some way.

  • Great show, rain and all!

by AL on 7/18/23Rating: 5 out of 5

Young the Giant never disappoints! Even though the show had a rain delay and we were afraid we wouldn't get to see the main act, the weather went in our favor and YTG came out saying they would play as mush as they could before they made then stop, and they did! Great show! Milky Chance was also an awesome opener.

  • So Badly Handled

by Maeve on 7/18/23Rating: 1 out of 5

The way this concert was handled was awful. Cancelled, forced to evacuate and pour out expensive drinks. Was told the band wouldn't come back on by 2 workers and to go home and expect a refund or reschedule. I drove 2 hours to be at this concert, so my friend and I caught an Uber back to the hotel we stayed at after 40 minutes of standing outside the venue. When we got back to the hotel the show was starting up again at 10:30 and I saw they only played until 11:20. This was absolutely ridiculous. Very diss appointed. I can't count the number of concerts I've been to on both of my hands and I've never had something like this happen. Show was supposed to be rain or shine.
