The opening acts were awesome (I bought the Kitten CD afterwards) and Young the Giant was awesome! I only gave it a four because they only actually played like 8 or 9 songs and it felt short. But I'm still going to see them any time I can in the future!
Such a great show! Great energy and the sound was better than expected!!!! Bottom line, great band.
Great band in a great venue. It's rare to see a talented band in such a small venue. Last time I was at the Roxy, I saw Velvet Revolver and they were great as well. YTG was very polished and I can bet they will have a great future
what an amazing performance!!! high energy, great music
Best show I've seen in a long time. I'm really big on vocals, and the singer was phenomenal. His voice was even better in person than it is on the album! I'm hoping to catch them again in April up in Anaheim.
Young the Giant's performance in Minneapolis was amazing! It was my first time seeing them live, and I plan to see them from now on!
Young the Giant is absolutely amazing live! It was the 2nd time I'd seen a show of theirs. They had so much energy and the excitement of the crowd only added to it. They sound even better than they do on their CD, if they're ever in town again I'll definitely be there!
Thnak god the two opening acts were excellent. "Walk the Moon" and "The Pomegranates" made the evening. As for Young the Giant well that was the first time I walked out on a show since Greg Dulli decided to make me wait till 1:00am to start the show.
my friends and i had a blast! the venue was great, so was the sound, and the opening band static jack were also great.
Young the Giant did not disappoint. These guys put on a great show and the Mercury Lounge was a great venue.
This was a pretty high energy show, not to mention sold out! Young the Giant is a group of very talented artists who work really well together and enjoy what they do, that's apparent. The lead singer's voice is intoxicating and will definitely leave you with songs or at least some lyrics stuck in your head for a while! Mercury Lounge is a fine venue.
Even though I am used to bigger venues, the Mercury Lounge was great. I loved that you can be close to the stage without the hassle of dealing with railings and security guards. I very much enjoyed watching Young the Giant and would most definitely come back to watch any other bands of my interest.
Young the Giant is an amazing band! They put on a fantastic show, and Sameer has a voice like no other.
They are a wonderful band and wonderful guys. They always put on a great show- I recommend them to everyone! :)
These guys are getting a lot bigger now. They packed The Roxy in Hollywood and I'm so glad I got to see them. So much energy and got the whole place moving. Awesome songs which I saw live for the first time and I've only been listening to them for about two weeks. If you like Minus the Bear and Local Natives definitely look these guys up!
Premiering songs from the album released at the show, Young the Giant performed brilliantly to a packed Roxy audience. Opening the show was a band that sounded like Vampire Weekend had a naughty priest like relationships with The Beach Boys, they went by The Smiles... pretty great. The middle band started with a V, and were pretty forgettable. The lead singer looked like he was doing us all a favor, and seemed almost annoyed to have to play to such a packed and enthusiastic crowd on the Sunset Strip. Finally though, Young the Giant took the stage and played through most of the songs on their first album (available on iTunes). These guys are amazing live performers who bring an incredible energy to the stage and who you can tell truly love playing their music. If you have a chance, catch these guys live, buy the album, get on board early... these guys are going to be huge. nb
