My girlfriend and I had a wonderful time. We were celebrating a special occasion and this event made it perfect.
The show was just ok. I'm a devoted Beatles fan, I've seen other Beatles tribute bands and if I were to put them side-by-side, this one would be the much lesser of the two. It is always fun to hear and sing along with Beatles songs, but the actual talent, again, was just ok. The friends we brought with us enjoyed the show, so that was important to us. A for effort, C for actual presentation.
My friends and I are all huge Beatles fans and went to see Yesterday for my best friend's bachelorette party. The band was great and put on an awesome and completely unforgettable performance! They interacted extremely well with the audience, also and were very cool about signing autographs and taking pictures after the show. My favorite part of the show was when they singled out my friend because she was wearing a big veil and dedicated a song to her. It made her feel special and made the night extra memorable. We will definitely be talking about this for a long time!
this tribute band was outstanding!!! they sounded just like the beatles and their equipment was identical. i would recommend this to all beatles fans.
The show was the highlight of your two day trip, we loved the intimate setting and thought they sounded remarkably like the real thing. Go see it you won't be sorry!
It was light, funny , yet true to the Beatles. Good show
Not only did "John Lennon" look like Paul McCartney but "Paul" was not even close to looking like any of the Beatles. That was the first mistake. Second, how is one hour and ten minutes a fair representation of the amount of hits and amazing music made over a span of time the Beatles were together. They strictly focused on the earlier Beatles pop music, nothing really on Sgt Pepper or Magical Mystery Tour or Revolver, etc. We were all really dissapointed and it was definitely not worth $25. The only upside was that the one hour of music was very good and they sang very well.
These guys are fantastic. Great tribute to the Beatles. Cheeky, funny, banter between songs was a fun element that added to a evening of classic songs performed perfectly by outstanding singers and players. A must for Beatle fans visiting Atlantic City.
Being in my mid 50's, being a Beatles fan should surprise no one. The show we saw at the Tropicana was awesome. My wife and myself were both very impressed with the group 'Yesterday" and their portrayal of the Beatles both appearance wise (especially the guy as Paul...from NEW JERSEY!) and their music and vocals were pretty much dead on. If you enjoy old Beatles favorites, you will certainly enjoy this 80-85 minute walk down Beatles memory lane. One word of advice...this is a general admission show. The earlier you get in line, the better seat you will get. This is a "club" type venue and NOT a stadium seating show. It can't be more then maybe a 200-250 seat room, but this makes it a more up close and personal experience. I would highly recommend seeing this show if you are in Atlantic City and you enjoy Beatles music.
I bought the tickets for my boyfriends birthday - he is a big fan of the Beatles and I heard really good reviews about Yesterday. The club area where the show was held was a lot smaller than I envisioned but I actually preferred it; you could see the band from any seat. The band looked absolutely nothing like the members of the Beatles but they did resemble the exact instruments and clothing (and british accents) from early Beatles era. They really did sound like the Beatles and the Tropicana had tv's showing real Beatles footage while the band played which I thought was a great perk. The only downside was that they really only played early Beatles music, nothing past 1963 I believe. I would have liked to have heard some of their not so popular (but my favorite) songs as well. All in all we had a great experience and would definitely recommend the show to other Beatles fans!
1. Good song selection, well done 2. (I thought "Paul" was lip-synching, but I could be wrong.) The show was only 75 minutes long
It was my first time away with my sould mate, and we had tickets to the show....it was great. He's a little on the quiet/shy side, but Yesterday brought back memories for him (and myself), and it was great seeing him enjoy something so much...as much as I did. They were awesome!
I sang along the entire time. Their energy was right on...sounded very authentic...personalities and accents added much credibility...likeable and playful...oh, did I mention that these guys ROCK!?! Very entertaining show, especially for the extremely affordable price...THANKS GUYS!!!
The Beatles tribute "Yesterday" was great! They did all '64, '65' and a couple of '66 songs. They had the accents and the silly jokes down, and the price of the tickets was right. A great time for all!
The group Yesterday did a great job covering the Beatles at the 8/5/09 concert at the Tropicana in Atlantic City. Not only did they look like the Fab Four, the instrumentation and vocals were very much like the lads from Liverpool. It was also cool to have 2 TV monitors playing old videos of the Beatles during the concert, and other British Invasion groups before the concert and during breaks.
I went to this show not expecting very much, but I thought I would enjoy the music. Well,I was very surprised to find that the show was a great evening of entertainment. The 4 guys who portrayed the Beatles made the night. They sounded like the Beatles, even looked somewhat like the Beatles, but their personalities is what really made it special. Go see it...you'll really like it.
THIS SHOW WAS PRETTY AMAZING!! THE SOUND WAS JUST LIKE THE ORIGINAL BEATLES' MUSIC, AND THE GUITAR WORK WAS JUST LIKE THE ORIGINAL. WE REALLY ENJOYED THE FACT THAT THE GUYS ON STAGE JOKED AND SPOKE TO EACH OTHER JUST AS IF THEY "WERE" JOHN, PAUL, GEORGE, AND RINGO. "HEY PAUL, WHAT SHOULD WE PLAY NEXT?" LISTENING TO THE BEATLES IS ALWAYS ENJOYABLE, BUT WATCHING THEM IS MORE EXCITING THAN EVER!! THESE GUYS LOOKED A LOT LIKE THE ORIGINAL BEATLES, BUT THE GUY PLAYING GEORGE HARRISON WAS CLOSEST OF ALL IN APPEARANCE. YOU NEVER REALIZE HOW MUCH GEORGE "FLAVORED" THE SONGS UNTIL YOU WATCH THE GUITAR WORK OF "GEORGE" ON STAGE. THERE ARE MANY SOUNDS IN THE BACKGROUND OF SONGS THAT YOU ALWAYS HEARD, BUT NEVER REALIZED THAT GEORGE WAS THE ONE TO ADD ALL THOSE MUSICAL TOUCHES.
We've attended several other Beatles Tribute concerts in the past. We were concerned about attending another Beatles Tribute thinking we've seen it already. However, to my surprise it was actually different and we're glad we attended. It had a more intimate and personal feel to it. The setting was to imitate the Caverns. The vocals were terrific and the show was very entertaining. It was nice to be up close and personal. Well worth the $25. We think they could get away with charging even more if they wanted, but glad they didn't. It was also a nice personal touch to have the group available for autographs and photos after the show. It was also a nice touch to have videos showing on tv screens during the event. The only negative was that some members didn't resemble the real Beatles as much as other tribute bands that I've seen. However, it didn't matter considering their vocals.
The performance was great. If you closed your eyes and listened, the Beatles were there.
The four members of the group were dressed accordingly, funny, got the crowd in a great mood right away, their sound was great, vocally & musically. Their selection of songs was outstanding. They even had the crowd do a few sing-a-longs. The showroom was appropriately set up for that era in time, very amusing & eyecatching. The price of the tickets are very affordable. Great show to see anytime.
